The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

A well done, artistic interpretation - vocally and visually. Nancy did this song justice!
Thank you! Please, please more Nancy Sinatra performances!
Verdade muito lindo
I'm hoping they post "Sugar Town" and "Strangers in the Night"!
I think this is the best she ever sounded. I liked this a lot.
Nancy Sinatra timeless
She is so talented and beautiful. Major crush.
wow!! Nancy is timeless and love this version sop much better!!! BOOM!!!
Fantastic !!
Actually one of her best vocal performances for me, was 'You Only Live Twice', in spite of the reported session issues...
Yes, that was very nice, indeed. Also those with Lee Hazelwood, or 'Something Stupid,' with Frank.
Session issues?
@@SuperWolsey it took her 30 odd attempts
❤
Nancy Sinatra
What A Beauty
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Soo dreamy. Back then it took real talent and concepts.
California dreaming 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Didn’’t Topo Grigio also have a hit with this Tune? Nancy! Killed it!.. What a Beauty!
Topo's version was a Top 10 hit.
I still have duet album Topo Gigio did with Mrs. Miller. "California Dreamin'" is on it.
Beautiful video
Excellent version of this song, which shows a style Lana Del Ray would take to success near 50 years later.
So Divine 😇💖
like this ,her work with lee hazelwood was top notch
It was but never got the credit it deserved . Their voices and personas came together perfectly .
Beautiful version by a beautiful lady
best version
Watching these old clip I can see why I was absolutely smitten with her.
Nancy had a way of pushing her own version, which most people really liked, including me. Great song.
Really enjoyed this...
Nice arrangement and performance. I really her.
Holy moly, it's like a scene out of Logan's Run
Какой стиль, какой уровень нет таких сейчас
My dad had such a crush on her when he was a teenager!
Самое романтичное исполнение известной песни.
I think slowing it down this way takes the melodic impact away some songs are adaptable .This one was perfect at the temp we first heard it from The Mamas and the Papas. I'm a fan of Nancy's when she has the best material like her collaboration with Lee Hazelwood
I love this song 🎵 I remember when the
mamas and papas sang it
Ed got a kiss directly on the lips from gorgeous Nancy... Lucky old codger!
Gorgeous? Really 🤔

Yeah, really. Everybody's taste isn't the same-- haven't you learned that in life yet?
@Ksawery Gładki
Some parents kiss their kids on the lips-- that's REALLY weird. But I'm guessing they knew each other very, very well because of Frank. Their friendship probably went well beyond the stage on Ed's show.
As for other prettier women--sure there are, but that doesn't simply negate her beauty.
In addition to the review of the song & video in my other comment, I wanted to share my observation of the TV show production and the perception given that Nancy performed the song shortly before she comes over to Ed. In reality, the performance video was more likely pre-recorded and Nancy was on the set just to make a post-video airing appearance. There are a number of clues, but the most obvious is how she is wearing gloves during the performance and suddenly has no gloves when interacting with Ed after the performance. As the Sullivan show became more creative with presentation in late 60s and early 70s, there were numerous signs of pre-show production in a number of these later year performances.
@Ksawery Gładki - I assume her dad (Frank) and Ed were close friends. Ed had probably been in her life for decades.
Do you have the 2x respective appearances, of Trini Lopez in 1964-65 on The Ed Sullivan Show?
Nancy Sinatra
I Love Her So Much
My Favorite Girl
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖❤❤❤❤❤💋💋💋💋♥️♥️♥️💋💋💋❤❤❤❤
@Ksawery Gładki Huh
Although I am late to review this video, it is significant enough to warrant the effort. For purists like myself, there is always an instinct to degrade a cover version when the original is iconic. You see that unfortunate impulse with a couple of comments to this video. But they are dishonest because there is nothing but praise that can be conveyed here. Billy Strange was a catalyst in creating most of Nancy's hugely successful recordings and he does it again here. It doesn't pretend to be a copy of the original, but to stand on it's own in a sensual, sultry, and gentle manner. Very similar to Peggy Lee's recordings. The visual is simply remarkable. I don't know if I have ever seen a bad video by Nancy as she is so pleasing to the eyes. But the Sullivan show did an outstanding job to connect the visual with the recording. This recording was sadly not available to the public until 2002 with the release of the "California Girl" CD, which compiles recordings throughout her career. I hope we see many more videos with Nancy.
Totally Live! - 🙄😉
What year is this?

Began to pray or pretend to pray :)
Michelle said she wrote began to pray but Cass misunderstood that it was pretended to pray so it stayed pretended to pray. I prefer began to pray.
@@troyannbladsacker1811 same we pray in church :)
@@troyannbladsacker1811 I prefer pretend
It’s pretend
@@maxB2262 it became pretend but Michelle wrote it as began to pray. Cass got it wrong so it stayed pretend.
Can you upload more muppets please?
The moms and the papas did California dreaming better
that's a given
The harmonies were fantastic.
Spead it up a little

I love Nancy Sinatra. I love the Mamas & The Papas But this performance doesn't quite work for me. Interesting to see though I suppose.
Nancy with this boots should be there
