TROPICAL UPDATE - Destructive Hurricane Beryl Hits Jamaica

In this morning's live briefing, we will breakdown the final forecast elements for Jamaica and the Cayman islands in preparation for Hurricane Beryl's arrival. We will discuss wind speeds, direction, storm surge potential, hurricane timing, and what the future outlook is like for our Caribbean nations ravaged by the first major hurricane of the season

In approximately 30-45 minutes, core of the storm will be on approach towards Saint Catherine, Clarendon, and Manchester. Worst conditions will be arriving for the southside of the island soon. Harshest conditions look to linger for approximately 4-6 hours before a large majority of our island is on the backside of the storm.

1pm local time update - watching satellite, eye wall has been nudged a hair further south of JM, especially Kingston. If this southern progression continues, our worst impacts should stay away as well. Keep watching. Already almost halfway through the day

People in Jamaica cannot get to go help their loved ones batten down because of the curfew.Some persons are leaving work this morning and have no food. This is cruel especially bearing in mind that the government will help no one.Some will go hungry during the hurricane. The people of Jamaica needs help ,even before the storm arrive.
