If you think Gabi should have been heavily punished for something she committed as a brainwashed child you might just subconsciously be more in line with the Marlian ideals.

Some of the recipes from Ascendance of a Bookworm might be fun to do! Pound cake is explained pretty clearly in the books but is pretty simple either way. They do a Consomme in the books as well. But there's also "Steamed Potatoffel" which is just steamed Potatoes, along with rumtopf.

Alvin Zhou is the Niccolo we all love and need! I LOVE the anime and manga, and I just fell in love with this recipe (similar to how Sasha fell in love at first bite)

If Alvin ever tires of being on-screen talent(Sure hope not!) Andrew should definitely keep hiring him for voiceover/narration. While we all love Andrew's smooth voice, Alvin is straight up hilarious while still being matter-of-fact and informative. You're great Alvin :D

one of my favorite things watching all of these is that it always gives me a picture of just how vast the world of food is and just how much knowledge and expertise goes into it. Literal generations of experience can go into mastering the craft of a single food, and that's seriously cool
I'm SO happy to see you use parsnips! they're such an underrated vegetable. they taste like a combination of the best carrots with excellent potatoes, sort of. everyone: eat more parsnips. they're great in chicken soup, stew, or tossed w/EVOO, s+p and roasted. yummmmmmy.
Great cooking, looks fantastic! Also, don't worry about "over-cooking" the cap (spinalis) - it's pretty much impossible to avoid unless you use sous vide; additionally, the cap is so fatty and tender that it hardly matters. A lot of people prefer the texture of the cap around medium to mid-well too (me included).
