After two days of frustration, searching on Reddit, Google and YTube to find a method to install mods into #KingdomCome Deliverance only to find a mass confusion on how mods work for patch 1.5 and newer I decided to give it a try and I finally was able to do it.
Steam mods folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods

***UPDATE NOTES: Patch 1.9.4. and 1.9.6 are basically the same but the 1.9.6 have new language packs and minor changes to the music so this tutorial should still work for you!!

Thanks for the guide man! Was getting back into Kingdom and was wondering why none of my mods were working, turns out all the youtube guides and reddit posts/steam posts are out dated, got everything back up and working now it's very simple but annoying they keep changing the process.

THANK YOU!! They made modding so complicated now. I'm using outdated mods. Vortex will work fine but if you want to do it manually that's what your video is for. I now understand the naming and it needs a manifest file. This was never explained anywhere. Couldn't find a single video. My only question is if I'm using a mod with an outfit, where does the objects folder go? In the data folder? Also I'm trying to set launch options. In the shortcut it says the name with that cfg-devmode is not valid. Why?
You're welcome man, be sure to press space between kingdomcome.exe" and +exec press space again user.cfg space -devmode in the shortcut to not give invalid path and for the outfit you should have folder mods>data folder and mod.manifest>in the data folder have modname.pak. Sometimes there is a folder called Localisation besides the data folder which has it's separate language.pak in it, please see my Assassin Armor mod for KCD vid on how to get and use those

Thank you so much man. I ended up purchasing the game on release however after Sir whatever DLC came out I installed a pirated copy of the game so I didn't have to redo my mods all over again. Decided to reinstall with all the DLC and couldn't find how to get all the old mods I used to use back on the game. Literally everywhere you went on Nexus people said "This mod doesn't work! ... This mod works!" kinda hard to read between the lines. Took me about 1 hour to install around 20 or so mods. Probably only 10 after merging a bunch that conflicted with rpg_param. haha
Anyways ignore any of the people that told you to get to the point. You can't do an indepth modding tutorial for any game that takes 2 mins. You'll have more comments saying it didn't work because they follow every step. Cheers!

All of a sudden none of my mods are loading today so I was really hoping this this would work ... but it doesn't. The game appears to be loading the mod PAK files in the logs but literally no mods are showing up once I load my game. Only change today was adding a couple DLC I didn't have yet. /cry ... argh. What is going on.
Did you do all the steps in the video, do the mods versions work with the game version you have in the mods descriptions?
@@PluviaAeterna TBH I'm not sure what happened but I finally got things working again last night. I reinstalled everything and only installed half the mods I wanted and THEN it was working again. I wasn't using the -devmode thing (manually) beforehand when mods were working (maybe Vortex was doing for me) but am using it now just in case. Anyhow - thank you for the video... now to figure out how to get better FPS! :) Later.

No you don`t, I didn`t start a new game and everything worked fine
Do i need dlcs for the 1.9.4 patch? I have no dlcs and version 1.9.2.
I think the 1.9.4 patch comes with A Woman's Lot DLC, I have the Royal Edition with every DLC, this tut might work for 1.9.2 anyhow cause the patches are not so far apart
Hello, I have a question, how to instal mods for epic games version?
There should be a game folder installed somewhere on your pc maybe in an epic games folder and there you follow this tutorial

So you need to remove the spaces from the mod folder names purely so the mod_order.txt works? Is it necessary to have this if there are no conflicts with any mods? (And my understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong, is that mods that conflict basically change a whole wide ranging xml files, so mods that change the same xml file need to be merged anyway, no? So in the end there won't be any conflicts anyways) Sorry, just used to Skyrim modding, new to KCD.
yes, if a mod is named "mod name" you just change it to "modname" and you write "modname" in mod_order.txt file too I do this because my game cannot recognize the mod otherwise.I think mods that change the same file may be in conflict with each other, especially if they kinda do the same things. I come from Skyrim mods too and maybe it`s a good idea to try Vortex mod manager if you think mods might be in conflict but be sure to write the mod name in mod_order.txt cause Vortex forgets that and doublecheck to see if everything is installed correctly, Vortex might throw some errors your way if they are in conflict.Also might be a good idea if you order the mods name in mod_order.txt like in a normal mod manager from most important to less important to avoid coflicts

Right click > properties if you have the shortcut on the desktop

Has this changed with 1.9.5? Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I can't get this to work.
I don't know, 1.9.4 was supposed to be the last patch for the game, if 1.9.5 is not coming with big changes it should work

@@SuperHotdog009 write the code like this: Game Folder\KingdomCome.exe"(space) +exec(space) user.cfg(space) -devmode . Where the (space) is where you press the spacebar, if you don`t put spaces it gives errors, this happens to mee too, also be sure you create the shortcut from the KingdomCome.exe in the game folder and you write the code on that one

I think it will but I cannot confirm it, if you have a mods folder it might work

Just tested it with a mod that increases your carry weight and it seems to work just fine however some older mods may still be a mess if they don’t come with a manifest file (I think that’s the issue).

can mods still run even if you don't have mod order?
Yes, and because KCD has only small mods there should be no problem adding them one after another

Never mind I deleted all the files and uninstalled and reinstalled it. And it worked thank you so much.

Check to see if they work for a newer or older patch of the game
@@PluviaAeterna yes :) says it should work for 1.9 and is the only mod im trying atm just to see so there is no conflicts with the other. Its the hoods up and scarfs up mod
@@drshinobi3979 then try to do everything fron 0 in the video and see if that fixes it, also try other mods to see if they work with your game to see if the mod or the game patch is the problem
@@PluviaAeterna yeah my thought is that they could have stopped on 1.9 and is not up to date to 1.96 perhaps which i thought. Any mod that can be recommended that works on todays version rn ?
Look on nexus mods cause it writes the date it was released so get the ones that are released after the latest game patch

@@PluviaAeterna The PC version. I didn't buy the game on steam. It uses the xbox app you can install on your computer.
I get the gist of how to mod KCD. I could just use vortex but it wont automatically find the game files.
I think the file is hidden somewhere on my computer

yes, it might but I didn`t tested for newer patches than 1.9.4, if the patch doesn`t change too much of the core game it will work
