With a Load order you want the more important things for you at the bottom. It just means if two mods edit or use the same file the one loaded last will override the one loaded first so if One mod change a sword modle to look like somthing from a different game and anouther turns all weapons to soft toys loads after it. The modle of sword you wanted to be from a different game will now be a soft toy (if it dosn;t crash your game). Normaly though the load order isn;t an issue.
Lifesaver -
1. create "Mods" folder with capital "M"
2. rename modfiles so the filenames are without spaces
3. copy the resulting filename in mod_order.txt file

11-2022 OMG the save without schnapps works and the guide was PERFECT!! Now I just need to get at least 1 mod to work for RDR2. GAWD there are some amazing QOL mods out there especially skipping the 90 min plus intro. TY TY TY TY TY!!

Honestly feel like I'm doing everything right but none of my mods are working. I only have unlimited weight, richer merchants and unlimited saving but nothing is working. I'm just getting into PC so not sure what I'm doing exactly

A mod i absolutely love is the Probane mod which makes the poison much more useful than the vanilla version
For some reason I cant get any of the mod's to work in this game. I don't know if it's the load order or what, but it's nearly impossible to get anything to work no matter how I try.
Hiya Roxy, I’d really like for you to show off the mods that you personally enjoy! Also, my favourite concept for a mod would be one that allows you to opt in and out for different aspects of hardcore mode. For some people they want some of the features but not others but currently it’s simply all or nothing. Maybe call it custom mode

I like to have a separate file where I place all zipped downloaded mods so I can keep track of mod file names as it can get confusing once you haven’t been in the mod file for some time. Just something I think is helpful :)))

I'm running KCD ver 1.9.6 on PC in 2024. Many of the older mods on Nexus Mods work fine in the current game. Vortex installs the mods successfully. I have not noticed any loss to my achievements after playing with mods. I am hoping for an inventory mod that adds a prefix to an item but does not change the item name itself. Example:
I want ARROW - Better wounding arrow
I don't want ARROW - Wounding, better
The ingame naming conventions cause enough confusion without adding yet another layer of mystery.

Edit: just found out I’m stupid and put the mod folder in data so that’s why it didn’t work

Dude i come to this video because the guide but the fiorst thing what impacted me a lot is that you have the EXACT SAME VOICE than some VOICE ACTING from the game LOOOL i dont remember which npc but LOlololo this is like listeng a npc from kdc telling to me how modding it lol

Easy guide that actually made me want to give it a try. Usually, I skip out on modding games since tutorials could be hard or tedious to replicate, but this was super easy!

I sometimes I have to play on a different PC if I just copy and paste the 'Mods' folder onto a usb stick and then just drag and drop it into my Game folder on that other PC? That would work right?

will this fix issues with mods changing the same file? usually the last one loaded totally overwrites the previous ones, unless that got changed
the only mod that ive gotten to work with vortex was the sorted inv mod
I keep getting a message in game, that the mods get deactivated and placed into mods_old. Anyway around this?
Nevermind I was able to just rename the folder and it works find now.

Currently thinking of getting kcd on my ps5 for a replay, in relaxed couch manner.. but I remember roxy cautioned about playing it on console. Is it dumb to get it on my ps5?
On PS5 it runs great it’s locked to 30 but loads faster and runs better on PS5 than xbox one and PS4

I feel like my computer has a curse that makes it impossible to make mods work. I’ve followed every guide I could find, checked mod version compatibility, installed them manually without the mods folder (putting the contents of the mod into the Data folder) installed a single mod by itself to check if other mods are conflicting with it.
Nothing works.
I’ve been modding my games for 7-8 years now having hundreds of mods in Skyrim etc. Kingdom come just won’t bloody work.
That's the issue right there mate, if you don't have the Mods folder on the root directory of your game you have to manually create one (New folder>rename>Mods)
And some mods have some special requirements which you can follow the steps on the nexus site.

@@MarcA95 I followed this video and when I loaded up the game it said my mods were moved to mods_old. I'm assuming the PTF changes have messed with older mods?

how do you know what to name the files in the mod order text file? mine doesnt auto fill in and cant get the mods to work at the moment and i suspect this is why
I have all of the mods in the Mods folder but it still doesnt work in the debug menu thing it says they're opened but it says "mod.manifest not found"

Yea it is easy if you have KCD on steam. Im have it on Epic becouse it have ben given up for free some long time ago.
And my mods dont work on KCD.

So I downloaded the black knight armor mod and it for some reason broke my cheats mod and prevented me from putting on armor. I deleted the mod, deleted both mods, deleted all mods, reinstalled all mods, deleted all saved games, and now I'm about to uninstall and reinstall the game. Pls help idk what is happening

Which armor mod to be precise and please check if there are special instructions on the nexus page of the mod (sometimes you are required to place the files in additional locations)

Has anyone had any issues with From The Ashes DLC, I can't complete as the last building gets stuck on the loading screen when I tell him to build it.
No, never had an issue with the original content of the game, maybe try verifying the game files through steam. And if you have any mod installed tell me i might help you out. (Specially if there is a mod that affect some building)

I wonder how the Raytracing GI mod is.. Guess you need a 3070+ to use that 😵
If you have 4k monitor, then even 3070 gives you only about 40-50 fps. Even less in Rattay.
