It was easy breezy! I just changed my car battery on my 2016 GMC SLT Terrain today and I wanna thank you for your concise and super tutorial. It was rewarding hearing the engine start. I’m a 49 year old mother of two and love working on cars, electronics and plumbing.
Excellent video! My parents are here for a visit and I’m gonna have to change their battery. This was exactly what I needed to know for their 2012! Thank you!
Was genuinely curious where the battery was on this car because my friend from work tried to give me a boost and we couldn't find the battery anywhere and that positive terminal will not boost a car, this seems way to complicated for no good reason why does everything have to be so complicated to service on newer vehicles.
Theres a post for the negative and s post for positive. The positive post is in or next to the fuse box in the engine the negative post is close or near it as well so you can give a jump
Good Point about the "+ Jump Post" and "- Ground Tab" provided under the Hood. Been monitoring the Battery Life of a 5 year old AC Delco in a 2014 Terrain since Install and I'd agree when checking (using a Digital Battery Tester) the "drop" in Amps when using the "Jumper" posts is no Joke. Add to that if the Jumper Pack, Cables, Donor/Dead Battery are not 100% (Corrosion, Undersized, Discharged) you'll wish you had a direct connection when it really counts.
Swapped out the battery easily enough, thanks! However now my infotainment screen is locked, and I get an CAL message that my compass needs to be calibrated. 😐
Hi - Thanks for watching! We don't have that information here in the studio, so we suggest that you check the vehicle owner's manual or a service/repair for the procedure to calibrate the compass.
Hi - Thanks for watching! Some late model vehicles do have to have the replacement battery registered with the vehicle’s battery management system. We recommend that you check the vehicle owner’s manual or a service/repair manual for the vehicle to be sure. You may also like to check out our video on battery registration. The link is in this video’s description.
No longer necessary with the 2019 models and newer, all settings are memorized and you go to my GMC and create an account and you can have all of your settings redownloaded from 4G.
You saved my life and made me look smart to my wife! Thank you sir!

How do you hook up the memory saver? All could see in the video, was a clamp on the positive boosting terminal. Thanks.

Does the car have to be reprogrammed or coded if you change the battery?

For being a battery shop they could have listed the group size battery
Mine had the AC Delco group 47, # 2370 same as in this video, but with the bigger battery tray which mine is it will take a group 47 or 48 battery.
@@Don_ECHOguy What year is your Terrain? Mine is 2011 and I'm wondering if I have the bigger tray. Thanks
@@vaughnennis22 My Terrain is a 2013 and it's possible these vehicles are all equipped with the bigger tray to accept both size batteries.
You hook up a battery charger to save memory ?
