Elvis recorded 769 tracks during his career. You have plenty to explore. I always find it difficult to recommend an Elvis song (i love 99% of them. LOL) but let me give you a suggestion that hasn’t been “reactioned to death”. Steamroller Blues from 1973 Aloha From Hawaii. ruclips.net/video/4vAuXP4hIoo/видео.html

This was his tribute to MLK and his I have a dream speech. You can hear the emotion and hurt in his voice. He never sang it live again. Don't know if he ever recorded it. This song so relavent now with everything going on. All should listen. Take care

It's good to see younger reactors checking out Elvis. This is such an excellent song for a first reaction. It's from his 1968 Comeback Special and it was written in the wake of a very turbulent time in America following the assassination of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. The message is actually an echo of Dr King's famous dream voiced in Washington in 1963.
As you can see Elvis sang this with so much conviction and passion. He admired Dr King (some Elvis fans tend to claim that they were friends but there's no substantiated proof of this) and was devastated
to hear of his murder. Such a shame that a song with a message first heard in 1968 remains too relevant today. By the way, if you delve deeper into Elvis, you're in for a treat. He sang just about every genre of music: from country to rock n roll, gospel, rhythm and blues and pop.

{ IF I CAN DREAM For a Song } .... And A beautiful one at that .... The Sentiment is the same .... Both works of art from two different people .... Saying the same thing .... Praying for peace .... GOD BLESS BOTH .... Here is the official report .... The report on the complete facts of the SONG "IF I CAN DREAM" Elvis Presley The King Elvis Presley Home Elvis Home › Graceland › Elvis News › Elvis Biography › Elvis Interviews › Sitemap › The assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Memphis .... As well as that of the U.S. Senator Robert Kennedy .... Affected Elvis Presley deeply .... These feelings led Elvis to give one of the most passionate performances of his career .... America was in the midst of an upheaval in 1968 .... The Civil Rights movement was in full swing and our world and culture were changing.... Within a short span of time .... Two leaders were assassinated .... Dr. King was assassinated April 4, 1968 .... In Memphis - Elvis's hometown .... Robert Kennedy .... Assassinated in Los Angeles .... June 6,1968 .... A US Senator who strongly supported human rights and social justice .... Was killed two months later .... On June 6.... It was Elvis's reaction to the news of both King and Kennedy's assassination that lead to the creation of the song 'If I Can Dream' .... A tribute song to King .... The Kennedy's {John and Bobby } .... And the fallen soldiers in Vietnam .... Featuring direct quotes from the Civil Rights leader.... In the spring of '68 .... Elvis was working on his upcoming TV special .... 'Elvis'.... After seeing the news about Kennedy's death on TV .... Elvis spent an entire night with the show's director .... Steve Binder and his friends .... Talking about the assassinations and Elvis's wishes for the world ....The conversation was heartfelt and honest.... And Binder believed Elvis had an important message for the country .... Binder then went to the show's Musical Director Billy Goldenberg and songwriter Earl Brown and told them about the discussion .... He wanted a Powerful ....Meaningful song that would close out the TV special .... Because the special was slated to air in December .... The producers and Elvis's manager .... Col. Tom Parker .... Had planned to end the show with a Christmas song .... Binder had other ideas .... It wasn't long before 'If I Can Dream was born..... Once the song was finished ... Binder took the song to Elvis and played it for him.... 'Let me hear it again', said Elvis .... The song was played again and again..... 'Okay' .... Elvis said .... I'll do it' .... On June 23, 1968 .... Elvis recorded 'If I Can Dream in several impassioned takes .... Even though it is said that the first take Elvis gave was perfect.... The king gave such a powerful performance that some band members were so blown away by Elvis's performance that they had to do several retakes .... It was after the band and backup singers were sent home that Elvis gave an even more astonishing performance as he re-recorded the vocals .... Elvis had the lights turned off and gave himself over to the music .... Over the next few takes .... Giving himself completely to the song .... After those takes .... Elvis went to the control room and had his chosen take played repeatedly before he gave it his blessing .... Elvis was so moved by the song and his experience with it that he told Binder .... I'll never sing another song I don't believe in .... I'm never going to make another movie I don't believe in' .... As Elvis was getting ready for the filming of the song .... Apparently designer .... Bill Belew who created the wardrobe for the ELVIS special .... He has had Elvis wearing neckerchiefs with some of his outfits .... He felt the song If I Can Dream was very moving .... And spoke to that generation about the difficult times they had been through during the sixties.... For this song .... Bill told Elvis he thought the white suit he had made would be more appropriate than the black leathers Elvis would wear for much of the concert ... When Elvis tried it on .... Bill felt there was something missing .... And realized it needed a hankerchief .... That evening Bill heard Walter Cronkite on the evening news speaking about all the soldiers that had died that week in the Vietnam War ..... The next day Bill found a dark red neckerchief for Elvis to wear with the white suit .... Bill explained to Elvis about the news he had watched .... And how many soldiers had died .... And that this neckerchief would represent the blood of all these soldiers that had lost their lives in Vietnam .... Both Bill and Elvis found this to be a very emotional subject .... And didn’t want to discuss it with anyone else .... If I Can Dream was an appropriate song for the finale of the show .... As it was Elvis’ appeal for peace and understanding .... Elvis asked Bile to include the story of If I Can Dream .... His message was .... “It is important to remember those that sacrificed their lives at that time ..... Forty years have passed since the Vietnam War ended .... But If I Can Dream is still my hope for the world today' .... As Per .... www.elvisinfonet.com/book-redbowtie.html .... Elvis wore the red scarf as a symbol of their sacrifice 'If I Can Dream was featured at the end of Elvis's Singer Special (later known as the '68 Special) on December 3, 1968 .... This was the first time the public heard the song .... And it was later released as a single with 'Edge of Reality (recorded for the film 'Live a Little, Love a Little') .... As its flip-side in November 1968 ..... The single spent 13 weeks on the U.S. pop chart peaking at #12. In the U.K .... It was on the chart for 10 weeks .... Peaking at #11. It is now a Gold Record single .... Elvis Presley .... Words written by W. Earl Brown .... Elvis Presley Sang those Lyrics .... There must be lights burning brighter somewhere .... Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue .... If I can dream of a better land Where all my brothers walk hand in hand Tell me why, oh why, oh why can't my dream come true There must be peace and understanding sometime Strong winds of promise that will blow away All the doubt and fear If I can dream of a warmer sun Where hope keeps shining on everyone Tell me why, oh why, oh why won't that sun appear We're lost in a cloud With too much rain We're trapped in a world That's troubled with pain But as long as a man Has the strength to dream He can redeem his soul and fly Deep in my heart there's a trembling question Still I am sure that the answer gonna come somehow Out there in the dark, there's a beckoning candle And while I can think, while I can talk While I can stand, while I can walk While I can dream, please let my dream Come true, right now Let it come true right now Oh yeah Recorded: 1968/06/23, first released on single....
And that is now history forever ....
{ Special Note } .... As from the official report from Graceland .... He DID NOT get in the fetal position At ANY TIME as some others are saying .... Someone just added to their story and .... A RUMOR was born .... No this is what he did as it is reported in the report .... { 'Elvis'.... After seeing the news about Kennedy's death on TV .... Elvis spent an entire night with the show's director .... Steve Binder and his friends .... Talking about the assassinations .... Of the three Patriotic Humans beings were Shot down .... And the killings in the lousy wars .... Elvis's spoke of his wishes for a better world ....The conversation was heartfelt and honest Binder believed .... Elvis had an important message for the country .... And that is how it went down .... The rest is history ....

A lot of background to this track. The assassination of Robert Kennedy and MLK were the inspiration according to some sources. The red scarf was in tribute to Vietnam soldiers.

This was due to Sen Kennedy and Martin Luther King's murders. Vietnam was still sadly going on. The Civil Rights movement going on, women's rights. The red tie signified the blood shed in Vietnam. He was told not to perform this song. Elvis being Elvis...Did it HIS WAY. And sang it.
