Elvis's identical twin brother, Jesse Garon, was stillborn, so Elvis never knew his brother. We've been to Graceland and it was great. We had our picture taken by Elvis's plane, the Lisa Marie. Sadly, it's not there anymore; it was sold. I agree with Elvis; that the only King, is our Lord Jesus Christ. React to: "Suspicious Minds". New subbie.

AND ROBERT KENNEDY -- The song was not only inspired by MLK but by Robert Kennedy's assassination also -- it was after Kennedy's assassination that Elvis & producer/director Steve Binder had a long sit-down discussion, & Binder asked songwriter Walter Earl Brown to compose a song to reflect what had taken place (based on MLK's speech). Parker wanted a Christmas song (of course) but after Elvis looked at the song sheet he told Parker i want to give it a shot.

I really enjoyed your reaction and stories, keep em coming.
I, like you see parallels with Elvis's early upbringing in my own life, When I first heard Elvis it blew my mind, and his voice somehow connected with me, I had to get to know more about his music and the man himself. Throughout my journey of learning so much about him, I became a huge admirer of his music AND his personality, it amazes me just what an incredible humanitarian and inspiring person he was, and so humble too.
Everybody who knew him or met him seems to love and have great respect for him, never a bad word against him, he treated everyone with respect and dignity.
He's been a big inspiration in how I live my life.

Elvis is one of the best singers that has ever lived. He was also a fabulous entertainer. There is a reason he is called "The King". He had a great voice & could sing anything whether it was ballads, gospel or rock. He also acted in a lot of movies. I enjoy watching them even though they were a bit corny, but the music was always great.

You can't go wrong with anything from his 1968 Comeback Special. This was the finale of the entire concert Mandy switched into a proper white suit and a red tie to pay respect to his friend dr. King not long after his assassination and it also just generally talked about the tumult of the 60s. We had a president be assassinated and then his brother assassinated and then dr. King and then Malcolm X and others. You can hear the pain and Agony in his voice and it is so very difficult to sing when you are choked up with emotion but he was just so good at it that he walked that tightrope really well in this closing performance.

He came from nothing and became the first Rock n Roll superstar. Unfortunately his American dream story also became an American tragedy for Elvis. There was no blueprint as how to handle great fame, stardom and wealth at such a young age. In the end though he left us with great music and brought people of all ages, class and culture together. Maybe that was his purpose. Thanks for the memories ❤

Oh my!!! This is his tribute to MLK & The Kennedy Brothers!!! This was soon after everything happened!!! Elvis felt strongly about doing this song! The network & his manager told him not to do it!!! They said the racial tensions were just too high!! But Elvis wouldn't listen to them....he wanted to honor them!!! But he also made sure it was the last song he did!!! For 2 reasons....1. Last song of the night always sticks with you! 2. He was very emotional cuz he felt strongly about it & didn't want to cry on TV! When he 1st came out they protested against him!! They banned his music all over the place!! But the
teenagers won!! lol When on tv cameras were only allowed to show him from the waist up! lol The way he moved his hips & legs was considered Indecent/Vulgar! All the church peeps went crazy!! InTupelo & Memphis they lived in poor area with couple of white families but the rest were black. He hung out with all the black kids!! He made some lifelong friends in Memphis!

A "couple of songs" you haven't heard before??🤣🤣🤣 You could do OVER TWO YEARS straight, every single day, one new song per day before you've heard every song he recorded. Not to mention the various versions of each song, which would take who knows how long?! On top of all that, you could spend another 5 years plus maybe, one show per day, going through every possible live show, and only then will you have dented the Elvis catalog!! Enjoy!! Oh, and that doesn't include the shows that there's no recordings of!!

Love you Stan and love your reactions! As I had never realized Elvis was so gifted until getting into his full catalogue and what an adventure! Also, when I traveled to Graceland, it's smaller than you might imagine, but I also know Elvis loved it because it was a 'home' if you know what I mean, when too, there is a lot to it - such as where a lot of exhibits are now stored that is part of the house, too. But for some great live Elvis, look for his version of 'Rags to Riches' at the piano from 1976 in Pittsburgh on New Year's Eve or if you love some beautiful gospel, try "Take My Hand Precious Lord." He was clearly meant to sing; I'm looking forward to the July 'Elvis' movie and hope you are, too, and God bless you, my friend!!! Sincerely ~ Christopher Tyler

However, no one would have known it was a fake weapon and when you do such a thing I believe you take your own life into your hands. I am saddened by the death, and understand, too, how people feel as if it was an overreaction. However, it is also hard to understand being in shooter's shoes and, it is quite possible by killing the individual he could have saved people in the future, though because it was a fake gun, who knows. It's sad all around, I say, and I believe good points can be made on both sides.

@@christophertyler3425 Hi C.T. Thanks. Don't ever take my comment as a personal attack. Firstly let me say, I am in no way justifying the actions of the robber. Fake gun or real gun is irrelevant. Lets stick to the facts and lets not get into what ifs. What I find hard to understand is the shooter shoots the robber in the back when the shooters life was not in danger. We can all get into commenting on what if, but that is no longer on the table for discussion. These are the facts. The shooter then empties more bullets into the robber and also walks over shoots the robber in the back of the head execution style. The shooter then calmly leaves the establishment with his associate, gets into his vehicle then drives away, doesn't wait for the police to arrive to prove his innocence or at least give his version of the story, and, only hands himself in when cctv is released. I am trying to understand what is self defence in America and why so may people call this man a hero and why he hasn't been charged? Now I don't know about Americans interpretation of self defence is. Maybe self defence is when a person is aiming a gun at you and you pull your gun out and shoot him in self defence. If this is the case, then in this case this is not self defence. To me self defence, (don't forget we don't carry guns) is when a person walks up to me and tries to assault me, and I block his intended punch with my right hand and then try and break his nose with a punch from my left fist causing him to go for his bleeding nose and swollen eyes which leaves his whole body open and then it is just a matter of how I want to end the dispute. Either a swift kick in the balls or a round house kick to the head, once he is on the ground he is not getting up and he is going to hospital in an ambulance. To me that is self defence.

Elvis hated segregation and when one of the sweet inspirations called him boss, he said “ I’m not your boss I’m your brother” hence all my brothers walk hand in hand.
