Very nice inovation- those grip variations.👍 The internals- feed ramps, long slide rails, barrel, triple spring recoil.... All add to the no rattle, quality harmonics during firing. Think general flappy polymer pistols like old wood snow skis. This solid pistol design like carbon fiber snow skis. No flex, no rattles. Ergonomics, mechanical design, parts reliability, balance and function matter Top notch presentation ✌️👍
Great review . If the price comes down some , more folk will get them and other manufacturers might start making something similar. I applaud the manufacturer in continuing to market innovation.
Quite cool that they keep updating and improving the design. Especially the new metal frame for competition should be cool once available. But does it take CZ Shadow 2 magazines? Most think they'll fit, but no official word on it yet.
I like the idea of that modular grip, but honestly I don't know how many people will want to drive out several pins every time they want to take it out to carry, then put them back in for home defense/at the range. I'm betting a lot of people would rather just have a dedicated smaller carry gun. I have very little faith in people 😅
They not only share patents, but they share parts. According to the importer (of Arsenal Firearms) the manufactures of the Archon and the Arsenal share the same owner. The Arsenal is imported by American Precision Firearms. The Strike One is available in higher end versions such as the Speed and Ergal.
Two things I'd want first is rather than having two small pieces to make the frame full sized how about just one large one because it's one less stress point and the second is if they could just sell the frame alone like a sig 320 without the griptape installed so one could get it stippled.
These are not produced in Germany or Hungary (those were previous gen 1) but in Czech republic (the new gen 2 with firing pin indicator or the new Type D)
That looks like the sort of trigger the could be easily improved with a shorter trigger bar or similar and a spring kit, Just removing the tilt from the trigger shoe and the travel would be a big difference.
Gorgeous gun, very clever design. I am a little concerned about the gap between the slide and the frame at the front. At then end of the barrel, you can see a fair bit of light through, and it tappers off as it gets closer to the trigger. It looks like the slide and the frame are not parallel, is this a prototype or are they all like that? I have never seen this on another polymer gun before, Glock, Canik, Ruger, etc, they all have slides that are 100% parallel to the frame.
Another cool vídeo Sootch, i wish we could buy these excellent guns in Brazil. I can see that in the last vídeos you are only making reviews about handguns, what happened with shotguns and rifles?
@@sootch00 Hi Sootch, love your channels! I'm normally not into new boutique gun designs, but something about this pistol intrigues me. Btw, what's your fave CCW pistol & your fave full size pistol?
I wonder if they could carry that cut on the front of the slide all the way to the front and back to the chamber area but keep the rear of the slide the same, Now that would be nice as and save a decent bit of weight and have a fairly continuous look to it, Or a sort of stepped look.
Hey sootch00 how does this compare to the current production Arsenal Firearms Strike One Speed? You reviewed one of those a year ago approximately. They are virtually identical except the AF is made in Italy, imported by American Precision Firearms.
Do they offer grip extenders for the magazines as well? As its nice that they have them for the grip but when there on the magazine you can carry the short grip for convenience and you get a full grip when you change mag, I think that is a better way, but if they do both that's great, I also really like the full slide model, I wonder if they could carry that cut on the front of the slide all the way to the front and back to the chamber area but keep the rear of the slide the same, Now that would be nice as and save a decent bit of weight and have a continuous look to it.
Love the improvements. I'm not really a striker fired handgun guy. I definitely prefer a hammer fired weapon. One of the reasons is that I prefer the option of a thumb safety. That concerns me a little on this for concealed carry. The Walther PDP snd CANIIK TP series have started to change my mind on striker fired pistols. Add some kind of safety to it and I'd consider it. Without it, I'm going to pass.
My Gen 1 has the German stamp and is only 15 rounds, but I got 4 magazines. Also don’t know if Sootch mentioned, as I’m only here 9:47 , CZ75 magazines fit and lock back. Unfortunately my 17 rounders are neutered since I live in Hawai’i. My Gen 1 can swap the mag release by inserting the magazine backwards. Edit: yes Sootch did mention the CZ mags. Question is the Gen 2 slide compatible with Gen 1 frames?
Dont know if he has any video where he is not comparing everything in the world to a glock 🤦♂️🤦♂️the tire on my car is like a glock 19 the engine in my truck looks like a glock 27 my reclinerfeels like a glock 23 😂😂
I have had one for about 6 years. It is not only flat shooting it also has less recoil. It is the only pistol I own that I can shoot very fast.

Thanks John! It's great to see innovation in the firearm world for sure.

If they corrected the issues from the previous pistol, I'm definitely intrigued.
They have altered internals like the sear, also ptr here in america is providing customer service
Those proof marks give me a warm fuzzy feeling

I find the design of the Archon B interesting. May have to add it to the collection.
Some very nice innovative features. There were some thought put into the gun.
D model is beautiful
Thank you for sharing this video ❤❤❤
One of the Best handguns ive shot
Been waiting for these to come out optic ready.
This platform would make a very shootable micro 9 carry pistol or competition pistol.
Man that’s some super nice machining work
Very cool, definitely will research more, many thanks!!!
This design is the future of pistols
I must have this!!! and I want one from Germany!
Love my german gen 2 . Very very worth it
Awesome video nice gun thanks for sharing sootch00
Thank you , I wish some of the pistols a safety on the side . I learned on a 1911 . I enjoy all your video reviews. Ty Mark
Thanks Mark, It's definitely something to consider if you're used to one method.
M&P and M17/18 are the only polymer pistols I know of offering manual safety options.
I would go M&P

Nice 👍 been watching your videos for a while hello from Phoenix Arizona 👋2A🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Great video sir, thank you!!
Thanks for stopping by!
That recoil (or lack thereof) is impressive...
That's some advanced engineering !
I have the original. It’s a favorite. Feels great to hold. Shoots great.
Great Review
and holy hell at the bots in the comments
Just mass report them
Isn't it something, yt mass deletes our comments by the hour but not the bots.

could have one extension attached to the floor plate of the spare/backup mag. Carry small and go big in a mag change

I like it. Im curious how it compares to the Caracal Enhanced F you recently shot.
What is going on with the frame/slide fit on the muzzle end? Looks like the frame is drooping.
Just saw that as you said it!
The iwi pistols and cz's seem much lower and have less mass coming back when the gun recoils.
It would be interesting to shoot all these and compare. The CZ is a good design

@@sootch00 well, i think that Henry should try the pump-action shotguns market.

If it wasn't $1000, I'd buy one today.
Mostly due to import fees, they are planning on building these in US starting in 2025.
I do wish the Gen 1 had a red dot mounting option other than being cut.
Nice 😊
Sweet ! But for the price point. I would buy two CZ P series pistols.

What does the grip look like after the Talon grips fall off ?

What are the internal upgrades for the Gen 1? I haven’t heard of anything and I own a Gen 1.
Does this top the CZ P10?
Yes. And if you get either the combat/holy grail trigger job from Rain6 it'll start to compete with 2011s
Hey so hey sootch is getzone your channel too ?
I wonder how the Archon would compare to a Grand Power Q100 mk23..
Grand Power manufactures sturdy military ready firearms... we own 3. Would purchase more if the money was there.... Thanks joe.💩💩💩💩
What about holsters?
Looks like it may work with some Glock 19 ones?
are the d models already released?
Solid Pins > Roll Pins every single time. Anyone who actually has worked on a gun will agree.
Archon B at $960 vs Daniel Defense H9 at $1300 vs Canik TTI at $1000?
For the Al Gore Rhythm.
Was it key holing? Target hits look like it was .
Made in Germany, I am from Belgium myself
😉good video as always
Thanks Stef!
These Gen2 are made in Czech republic
@@Kuptofity that's not far from here, I'm going to talk to the arms dealer
What is the grip angle like? I heard it is the same as glock.
The slide movement during recoil looks like a 22.
Yea where your hand goes and the height of the slide doesn't really look like it has a low bore axis.
Come On Man, it's bigger than a G19!!!
am i the only one that saw that gap or warp on the gun frame at the beginning of the video
Primo👌🏻I want one
So pins with extensions… I’d prefer swapping grip like p320. Looks cheap and somehow overpriced. Tape on talon grips is cheap.
So many guns to love - Bidenomics eating up all my money making me love them from “afar”.
Great review as always.
Nice, another potential addition to my clone glock collection
It's better than Glock not by much trust me this thing is a tank
@@Viziry I'm all for it if the price is low and durability is high. Thinking of getting the "D" version.
You can send one to Glock, but they wouldn't know how to clone it anyways.

Bore axis has so little impact on the shooting experience. It’s not worth mentioning ten times in one video.
Too expensive just buy Glock
