I remember watching you do this on nick when i was around 6 (10 years ago) and I always wanted to be an artist so i tried my hardest to draw him like you did and could only get the hair. Do you honestly think none of your fans were alive when you made the first commercial? I mean, no offense Butch, but you've been a part of Nickelodeon since the 90's back when the Fairly Oddparents was part of Oh Yeah! cartoons. You of all people who work for Nickelodeon should know that Nickelodeon has a healthy fan base of young adults who've been watching since before the Fairly Oddparents became its own show in 2001. I love you Butch, you've given me a large part of my childhood, but I would also love it if Nickelodeon would stop ignoring its older fans who love Nicktoons from the early 90's to the late 2000's. We are just as important to the functioning of Nickelodeon as the younger, newer generations.

Jasmine TheCat true, but it isn't funny because it's obvious that Nickelodeon doesn't care about their older fans anymore yet if they did, they would be as popular now as they were in the 90's and early 2000's. It's actually insulting at this point how much they ignore us when we say we can't stand what they've done to the network and how they've turned it into basically a channel for 4 year olds. Fans constantly complain about the obvious problems with the network, yet they ignore us and treat us like ghosts.

What’s funny is that they make reboots geared toward young kids (that include twerking and outdated memes) and expect them to know about the original. Then for the good shows that obviously have a lot of older fans, they think its kids watching it. Where’s the logic?

I gotta say that Butch is one of my favorite animators both in style and in personality. I think it’s awesome that he has an actual youtube channel that he does all these requests for crossovers, tutorials, and “insider scoops” on as well as crossovers with other youtubers. Nice that he has time for his fans and aspiring artists. I’m just surprised he doesn’t have more subs. And obviously his art style is dank af.
It’s obvious that Butch has a special place for Danny Phantom. He talks about Danny Phantom more than his other cartoons.

You can really tell a lot about an artist's skill by the confidence in their lines. And Hartman has very confident lines.
I used to practice to that commercial! Honestly, this channel is some of the coolest content around right now. The fact you're so interactive with your fans is amazing.

I was thinking about Butch and his cartoons a lot today. I decided to apply to art school to do visual arts, and Butch's cartoon animation is hands down one of my favourites for continuity and simplicity and how appealing it is. The style also trademarked through his first three cartoons which I really appreciate as well

That commercial is the thing that got me interested in drawing waaaaay back then. i took a small, decade break but the last year and a half i've gotten back into it seriously. Thanks for that spark, good to see a redux!
Unlike most people, I’m kind of glad Danny Phantom ended. It ended on a good note instead of turning into a terrible show and abruptly ending like the Fairly Oddparents.
I wouldn't say it ended on a good note. i'd argue there could've been two or three more episodes that could've sealed everything together that would lead to Phantom Planet. I WOULD say that it had an amazing run though(unless that's what you meant).

I was just talking to my friend the other day about how your "How-To-Draw" commercials were my favorite, and how they also were a big influence on me. It's weird to think that so many years later I'm watching you do another version of that same commercial that I would play in my head over and over whenever I would draw Danny on my school papers. I remember when I was like around 9 years old, watching those 2 videos where Butch showed how to draw Timmy and Danny on nickelodeon, now at 20 I can draw both of them just like him, just with those 2 comercials, and I saw them just once! Great Job Butch!
I remember that commercial as a kid! It helped me figure out how to draw hands and arms at the time; I would sit and wait for that commercial to come out so I could follow along and learn how to draw Danny . The only commercial I would legit wait and hope for an appearance so I could practice step by step. Funny to look back at it now , after all these years, and seen how I've grown and developed my own style. Thanks Butch you inspired a kid to grow into an adult who loves creating characters of her own! :)

I'd like to go into cartoons so I could contribute to the enjoyment other people can have because in my life I've found no greater joy than the laughter and awe I always had when I watched cartoons with my family and friends. Danny Phantom was always awesome for its action, characters, and great plot episodes and just generally engaging ideas.
