I had the 9i for 3 weeks and ended up returning it. It was a good machine but I miss oled. The mini led is ok but it’s not a oled. The water cooling is also a joke and does nothing. Unit runs loud but it does stay cool. Having the holes on the top of the unit makes it sound like the fans are facing you making it sound louder. High contrast scenes can cause smearing as the mini led cannot react fast enough. I ordered the blade 16 oled to replace it.
Good choice however I think blade laptops having higher chance of battery bloating and they doesn't last longer than Lenovo legion series which are one of the most reliable machines it sucks really laptop world is quite disappointing
That's correct. It was initially planned for WiFi 7 as well as WiFi 6E, but then only a few units were shipped with WiFi 7. Now, it is only available with WiFi 6E.
@@Decoding_Labs very annoying, a lot of people prefer to leave their cards in while transporting. I thought it was bad on my MSI GL65, it sticks out 3mm but also clicks in.
@@Decoding_Labs Weird, I can only install the ones from Lenovo which are extremely outdated and not new ones from Nvidia. Probably a faulty unit. Thanks!
I feel i just have toi ask; I have sent my legion for service, a key came loose. I just received a email that it's a lot of green oily liquid inside the laptop and that it's not covered by warrany. Well, first.. what were they doing inside the laptop when i just had to get a key fixed "on the outside". But secondary, where does this green oil come from? I'm speculating that the heat pipes contain that oil, and they have cracked and leaked out.. and some people suggest it's oil from the thermal pads. But all in all, does anyone know what is ACTUALLY inside a lenovo heat pipe? not just speculation, but actually knows... And well, I cannot post an image, but IT'S A LOT of oil... And I'm pretty sure i haven't had any green oil on my desktop and spilled it.. :P
That sounds super frustrating, sorry you’re dealing with it! 1. Why they opened the laptop: They likely opened it to check for any internal issues that could have caused the key to loosen, even if it seems unrelated. 2. The green oil: You’re right to think about the heat pipes-they contain liquid to help with cooling, but it’s usually not green. If they cracked, that might explain the leak. It could also be from thermal pads, which sometimes contain oils, but again, green isn’t typical. 3. What’s actually inside: Heat pipes usually have a mix of water and other compounds, but not green oil. It sounds like something else might have gone wrong inside. I’d definitely ask them for more details to be sure! Hopefully, that helps clear things up!
@Decoding so i own prior years model. I have put in 6400mhz ram and it runs at that speed , a new option in the bios will appear saying memory overclock and it enables xmp profile. Also that idle fan whine isnt even in this model and i have the 4090 with 13980hx i dropped in the killer wifi 7 1750x and 2 2 tb 990 pro. I found that if ribbon cables arent making complete contact the fans never ever shut off

@@kmdkmd-jz8pvmy friend did Razer Blade 16 reached how is it oled screen is good right
@@syedsaim3470 very very good, best screen I have seen for gaming.
How are yiu getting on with the new oled razer? I heart it thermal throttles so can't get the full graphic card out of it
How much of an improvement is there from 2023 to the refined 2024 version
Improvement is negligible; if you can get the 2023 version cheaper, go for it. The only difference, literally, is the CPU, which is slightly better.
@@Decoding_Labscould u elaborate on the negligible part? What other difference is there even if negligible besides CPU?
You said you can also get it with WiFi 7. This is not possible from the Lenovo website however.

bro do you recommend this laptop or should i go for legion pro 7i? which is better in build quality and longitivity?
Legion 9i has a better build quality but if you want better performance over long time go for Pro 7i
Great review 👍 thanks for it
Thanks for watching!
i think i will maybe get legion 7 pro
Thank you for covering the depth of the SD slot. It's stupid it sticks out that much.
Is it right? It's a small detail but rather annoying.

@@themadatheist1976 I'm just happy to have the slot - many laptops don't even have them anymore.
They should do something to re arrange keyboard to normal length

yes absolutely

There is a physical privacy shutter button on the side.
That's not a physical privacy shutter since it doesn't physically block the camera. It's only an e-shutter, which electronically disables the webcam.
