The Gebauer has a very interesting combination and moreover this Schindler W200 machine is really great. I also filmed an elevator with a combination of components and a Schindler motor which makes a really incredible sound, you could see the shorts of this one. Unfortunately, these elevators are increasingly modernized or worse, replaced. On the other hand, the AS I do not think as much of the good apart from the fact that it can accommodate a few more people. The design of the control system is not bad, but to see this magnificent machine room which will gradually be emptied just drives me crazy, everything was wasted with lost space... In short. I think the other elevator is going to get the same really hopeless replacement, but that's "the future". Thanks for this video though ;D
Well it just is how the future will be, the future will be only MRL except for the very VERY high-rise installs above 40 or 50 floors. You might not agree with me here but I am actually rather fine with the new lift. It is as fast and efficient as the original one, it runs fine and therefore does the job as well as the old one. What I hate is the stupid Schindler 3300 replacements of old lifts because they are just so slow and inefficient, the BX is the WORST controller Schindler has ever made. BUT this 5500 here runs on CO-MX of course and the CO-MX is a good controller, it is a far descendant of the old Miconics after all. Also you have to consider this: The original controller and W200 machine of the old lift are still in the motor room as you can see. They probably serve as spare parts for the lift that is still running, so the death of one of the two lifts actually helps to preserve the other one to live longer. I filmed this video 2 years ago and back then the old parts were already sitting in the motor room unused for 2 years.
Until today i didn't know those combinations were also possible back in the days, while you see more original ones and they are also getting quite rare...
Indeed I also didn't know that Schindler sold such kits back in the day. Nowadays their subsidiaries like AS in Switzerland and Haushahn in Germany also install their MRLs.
@@TheLiftDragon i cannot understand that they replace Miconic's with 3300's or 5500's since efficiency won't be ever comparable with the OLD GOOD DAYS Miconic's.... Logic mod is understandable, but i can't understand completely refurbishment since they already have a well built solid elevator that beats every modern elevator what they build now....
@@theelevatorenthousiast-452 I guess there are two main points: Schindler starts to run out of spare parts for the old lifts and they want to make more money of course. The new 5500 here runs as efficient as the old Mic B, that has to be said. The CO-MX is an extremely efficient controller and even it's successor, the SC1, is extremely well made and fast. What I absolutely hate though is the BX, it is the worst controller Schindler has ever made and it's slow a f. It is what 3300s use and also one of the main reasons why this model of lift is so bad. I'm glad it has been discontinued now and the 3000 uses the SC1 as well. Sadly we will never get the old massively built metalwork from the 70s and 80s back except for the very high-rise lifts, they're still built extremely well. It's sad but it's something that can't be changed as everything has to be cheaper. And it is the very exact reason why I film all these lifts: To preserve the state on video, so the future will still know how lifts were x years ago.

Very nice lifts.
Thx!

Hi, are you a lift maintenance worker?
