OMG I fell so hard for the Travelling Cat Chronicles! I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. I read it this month and won't be surprised if it makes it to the top of my favourite books of 2020. I think it might join my favourite books of all time list... It is so beautiful, sad, yet funny at times (because of what the cat thinks sometimes) and the main character.... He is soooo good and lovely and kind and all sorts of things. Love him. I really hope you enjoy it and can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!
I participated on Polarthon too and I also didn't do so great with it, but I still had tons of fun. One book ended up taking me until today to finish and I absolutely loved it. I read Spinning Silver last month and I really enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy it as well! I always love seeing your book mail. I love watching your face light up in joy. Honestly this community is just so lovely and generous. The Mercies sounds so good! I've heard good things about the Sister's Grimm so far, but I think it's a new release so I also haven't heard too much. It sounds interesting though. I'm the same way. The more emotional I get, the more I like a book haha. That's not always the case, but oftentimes it is. For Spinning Silver I wasn't sure about the ending at first, but then I sat back and thought about it and realized that it's a fairytale at it's core and most old-fashioned fairytales did have rushed endings. So since it was emulating that I ended up being ok with it. But as a novel, I tend to agree with you. There were things I liked and things I didn't like and the ending definitely felt rushed. I really enjoyed this as always Codie and I hope your week is going well!
Oh interesting, I hadn't thought about it that way! That would make sense with the ending being tied up so quickly :) Thank you so much for being lovely as always and I hope you have a good weekend
I read The Secret Commonwealth, and totallllly questioned that relationship too. Definitely listen To The Fire on High on audio. I did that for Contempory-a-thon, and it was really good.
Yayy 😊 Glad they arrived! I really want to read The Secret Commonwealth but taking so long on La Belle Sauvage, keep putting it down and having to start over 🙈🙈... I DNF'd an ARC of The Sisters Grimm a few chapters in as I wasn't keen on the characters or how they were described but if it gets lots of good reviews I might give it another go, the cover is great though!
Get rid of the nurse's chapters and have more development in Irina's relationship! Did get 5 stars from me - I really enjoyed the end as the neatness of how it wraps up does mirror how fairytales wrap up with a 'happily ever after'
I was so happy to see you posted a Vlog. Didn't find the time to watch it during work but now I'm home and needing some stress relief and remembered this video. I haven't been reading a ton. I started Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson and only have about 120 pages left. I absolutely love Sanderson and just picked up the UK covers of all his books I don't already own. I'm excited to work on reading/listening to more of his work. I think that'll be a great way to de-stress. Also I love that you're a cat person! Cats make my days better and random cat memes and videos are one of the things that make me happy.
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me that my video could help you de-stress even a little bit :) I definitely read Sanderson to de-stress too haha, I still haven't read Steelheart but no doubt I'll love it as much as his other books, I hope you are enjoying it. Totally agree cats make life 100% better :D
Love this! Sounds like you got some good stuff in the mail!! I've added so many of these to my goodreads now! You're the first booktuber who's made Spinning Silver sound interesting to me, so I'm definitely going to need to read that now!
I loved Spinning Silver. Read it on the coach down to London and managed to read it over the course of two days in two bounds of six hours, plus a couple of hours before going to bed in london
I gasped when you picked up The Girl from the Other Side. I love that manga so much! Hope you do to. You should also try reading Witch Hat Atelier. Beautiful art style, intriguing story and amazing magic system.
It's rare that I have read a book before you have read it so I'm very excited to see your reactions and theories to truly devious. I really enjoyed the whole series.
Yeah so glad you received the book! I can't wait to read it. Might try to fit it in in March I think. Loved watching your vlog as usual. Hope February has been treating you well!
Freda my love! Thank you SO SO much! definitely cheered me up and I am so excited to try it! March works for me if you would like to read it together, just let me know dude :) thank you so much again my love and I hope you have a fantastic weekend
@@CodiesBookCorner I would love to buddy read it with you in March! Hopefully you can fit it into your wheel picks :) Maybe message me on Instagram or I can send you my twitter if you prefer that to chat about it. I'm going to be doing the Cosmerealong and the Elderlingalong as well so this will be a nice break from all the fantasy. Hope your weekend is fantastic as well!
Rage of Dragons is one of my favorite books! If you have a chance to do the audio I highly recommend it as it makes the words even more beautiful. Gah! Now I want to re-read/re-listen!
Can I just say, I’ve finally been able to send you something from your wishlist and I want to cry/dance with happiness 😂☺️ I hope it arrives to you ok!

Codie you are so freaking cute 😂🥰 I just wanna give you a hug and ramble all about books with you 😭 I can also ramble like a champ. I’ll out ramble you... watch me 😏🤘🏻
Recommend a romance called " A Heart's Journey" by Beth Howard, found on Amazon. About a woman who leaves America and returns to a small town in England she remembers as a child. She wants to renew her life from abuse and finds romance.
The dodgy ice cream van, oh my gosh, I seriously have a theory that the ice cream van people in my town are running a dark underground business because I never ever see them during summer, but at midnight in December they're all about on the roads. Very dodgy.
“Elsa on a bad day” hahaha that tickled me 😂
Legit though 😂
I SPOT THE NEW SHELF! I need to get to your flat soon haha also I’m supposed to be reading but I’m watching this 😂♥️♥️ I love your vlogs
hahah thanks girl! ❤️❤️
