I have Peugeot 308 SW T9 1.6 Diesel GTI Line from 2015 with 122 000km. I bought it as used car in May 2021. So far I had to change windshield wipers system, NOX sensor, front suspension due the same reason described in the video and recently heating (fan) died so there is no heating or cooling. It is completely dead. Mechanic advised to replace fan, thermostat and regulator since everything is under dash board. Replacement of the fan is extremely expensive since it is very complicated. Estimated cost is 2000EUR due the working hours amount. Approx. it is required 10h in total for pulling up dashboard, replacing parts and returning dashboard into original position. As said in this video mechanics don't want to repair this fan issue. On the repairs and regular service since May 2021 including estimate for fan, thermostat and regulator total cost is approx. 9000EUR. So after this repair this car is for sale.

Ваш английский сильно вырос за время существования англоязычного канала. Смотрю и там и там, помогает и в познании авто и в практике языка :)

Sorry but i am not agree with your 80% problems. Mine is 312.000 km and is much better condition than yours look like. May be wheather or salty ambient but here in Spain addblue is the main problem. Mine is DV6FC engine code, 2016 and at least in my case it has not so many problems.

All of the above problems did not happen to me personally, but some happened to me. I've read a lot of information, watched videos and analyzed, so the problems in this video are quite common.

312k is impressive. What major problems do you think I should look out for? I plan on getting one

@@tho_guo Now 316k, Now some days ago left CV joint is starting to sound (It is not a Big deal) and I have some error Codes about position Turbo and pressure. Probably I Will change turbo for a remanufactured.
One issue now is the third injector, sometimes fails and injects less than should do.
EGR is a common problem too, try to clean It Up as posible as you can. 100 or 150k km should be great.
I had one more problem with addblue circuit. Euro6 is a fu***** sh**. You have to clean addblue injector, each 50k km for prevention and add anti crystallizing for addblue.

Hi and thank you for the video, which is interesting and useful.
I have had my 308 for the same time as you, although it has less miles - just under 100k miles
I HAVE had to change the Adblue pump, reservoir and pipes as you predict
I HAVE had a front spring break
And I had a difficult to diagnose, intermittent fault that would say CHARGING FAULT, over a period of months it got more frequent, and then one the car just wouldn't start, nothing, dead... but then, if I kept retrying, it would suddenly start, as if nothing had happened, so definitely NOT the battery , despite a Peugeot garage (in France!) telling me I needed a new battery. Eventually it was tracked down, by an independent auto-elec specialist, to a failed relay in the module immediately in front of the battery. On the previous model to mine, you could change the relay, for a few euros. In keeping with modern "improvements"(???) that option is no longer available as the relay is buried in the module, which cost a few hundred euros 😞 Once that module was replaced, the problem was fixed (and with no need for a new battery) however, as a result of disconnecting the battery without following the 'shutdown procedure' , (that I didn't know existed) some software got corrupted (or so I am told?) resulting in the alarm going off every time i try to lock the car with the fob - so for the moment i have retrained myself just to use the key to lock the car, which avoids putting the alarm on (and therefore avoids it going off).
So I definitely think you should add that warning to owners to NOT simply disconnect the battery.
I also think that YOU SHOULD re-edit the video to put the big items first, which is actually just the spring, the Adblue system and possibly the oil leak, if you think that is serious.
And that brings me nicely to my final point which is, that if there are only 3 problems (as opposed to niggles) with a 150k mile car... (And none of them being remotely 'terminal' in nature, I think you are being overly harsh.
Would you REALLY avoid buying another 308??? or did you just use the title " 60 reasons to avoid..." , as an eye catcher to get more clicks...?
Personally, I would rate my 308 as one of my favourites (and I've owned in the region of 20 including Citroen, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota, Subaru, Honda, BMW, VW , Volvo, Kia, Rover, MG and my old friend the Austin Mini)
    My opinion of the 308:
The auto box is superb, easily switching between auto and manual modes, the car has a cavernous boot, but still looks good, and driven carefully, on a run, it'll return 60, yes, 60mpg which, for a 2litre auto is awesome! Even driven less carefully,it averages 50mpg
So I personally WOULDN'T class the 308 as one to avoid, but we're all entitled to our opinions ☺️ regards, Mark

Thank you for your story. Very interesting. About the fact that I'm too demanding and too harsh. The disadvantages that I have indicated are all that I have been able to identify in this car, both from personal experience and from someone else's. And most importantly, I'm not saying that the car is bad or it doesn't need to be bought...on the contrary, if there are literally several serious problems in the car, and the rest are childhood sores, then the car is good. It's strange that some people think differently. I still ride him, and it's hard for him to find a competitor for this money.

Hi, can you tell me how important is point 50, on my 308 also the plastic stud is broken on the air filter box, is it a safety issue to not fix it?

    • @peugeoton4033
      @peugeoton4033  5 месяцев назад

It is definitely not worth postponing this breakdown for a long time, then it will be more expensive!!! I would highly recommend that you fix it....either glue it (if you are sure that you will be able to glue it well), or better, as in the video, find a person who will make it out of metal (it will definitely be durable). This does not particularly affect safety, but you will simply break down more expensive components in the engine

I have 240.000 km and no problems. The best thing is to sell the van and buy another brand that doesn't have any problems. Does that exist ? Maybe not

    Danke
