Bergen is also a german word meaning mountains. Hearing Dimash SOS the first time I had the impression he came from high mountains called Kudai down to us in the valley to tell us stories from another world.
Later I learned Kudaibergen means "given by God" in kazakh language.
You really should do Dimash regularly. He's so much more to offer. And his Dears (Dimash calls his fans like that) love to hear others talking about him, whatever comes into your mind you cannot do wrong, really.
Following Dimash for about 4 years every song without exception he surprised. You can never say you know Dimash, because next song there's something new. A real artist. And the best I've ever heard in my 55 years.
My personal favorites are the ones composed by Igor Krutoy. Amazing cooperation.
    Greetings from Germany.

I discovered Dimash 2 months ago, and since then have had to listen to him every day as many times as I can fit in. I try to listen to all his songs, but some still pop up that I had not yet heard. My daily "must hear" is Ikanaide (Japanese for Don't go), which is from the Tokyo 2021 (? might be 2020) Jazz Festival. He sings it in studio, and is wearing a handsome heather green sweater. I also love The Story of One Sky music video (the mini movie that took 3 years for Dimash to write, compose, and act in, because it was a very complex project, with movie-theater quality cinematography. It is about the horror of war, and what we must do to end war. 13 minutes plus long. It is difficult to watch, but if you realize that the meaning of the video is to choose life, it is easier. I love it and have watched it at least 100 times.

It is a duet with a great counter tenor from the Chinese Opera. Dimash has fun and demonstrates to even greater effect his lower and higher registers whilst harmonizing beautifully.

I see my fellow Dears have already made a number of suggestions, in relation to Dimash's long and impressive list of songs. I have been a Dear for almost 7 years now and I am more impressed by him, as a musician and as a human being (Dimash is a magnificent soul!) than I was in February 2017, when I first heard him sing SOS! Of all the vocalists I've encountered thus far in my 71 years, Dimash, in my book, is number one - followed by Barbra Streisand! I think you would marvel at his (and Igor Krutoy's) rendition of "Ave Maria" and of course Dimash's 15 minute movie, entitled "The Story of One Sky", which he wrote and composed. However, be forewarned, while it is a true masterpiece, it is truthful and very heavy! You have a new sub, Doug. Thank you for already "getting" our collective Kazakh son/brother!!! Try Unforgettable Day,he reaches a D8,then go to Olympico to witness his amazing low range, then watch “I’d die for the wind of the mountains” a traditional song from Armenia, which he learned in a few hours and imitated a traditional Armenian instrument during the performance or “Love is like a Dream” where near the end he LITERALLY sounded like you would imagine an Angel singing,he’s just incredible 😍😍😍 greetings from UK 🇬🇧

Liked your reaction so much. It was so nice to watch someone review him with some research ahead of time rather than going in cold and clueless. Most will tell you while this is awesome, this is only the very tip of the Dimash iceberg. I started wriiting a list of my favorite songs of his but stopped when I got to 50. His first real breakthrough was in China in 2017 in the show The Singer. He was put in as a "ringer" up against all professional singers. He sang S.O.S. as the first contestant and the internet crashed in China. Later, when his first album came out there, it took 37 seconds to go platinum and was triple platinum in the first hour. If you want to watch him sing one of his own compositions, Unforgettable Day, which he wrote at 19, he performs wonderfully on The Singer. It is a nice place to start. I hope you continue the Dimash journey and know you will notice the composer, especially when it is Dimash. It can be frustrating to watch a reviewer be amazed at his incredible performance of El Amor En Ti at Almaty but not know he COMPOSED it at the request of his Spanish speaking fans. Enjoy your journey. Welcome to Dimash....

Given that you're a composer, you could provide such a different analysis to Dimash's songs! Although Dimash has a very large vocal range he uses the notes he sings to serve the song.. In interviews, he will not talk about his range. There are so many choices that he makes from notes, key changes and remarkably subtle things most of us would love to hear about. PLEASE consider doing more videos on Dimash.

I think you'd really like Olympico. Dimash in general is pretty fantastic stuff and youll see more sides of him the more you watch. Hes a superstar in the Eastern world but is trying to make a name for himself in the west as of recently.
Not all of his stuff is the flashy stuff, but thats usually what gets recommended because the flashier stuff is what makes him such an outstanding artist. I'd recommend listening to some of the less reacted to performances on Dimash's channel, to prove that its not about ego (as people have falsely said that in the past)

These "Notes", they are neither his highest by a long shot nor the lowest by a long shot. LOL. You have no idea who and what you just discovered.
7 + octaves, Absolute Pitch with prefect pitch and he sings in almost every genre of music from rap to opera and a multi instrumentalist plus, he sings in over 15 languages and he produces and composes and acts. What most of us fans "Dears" know is just how humble of a man he is and a humanitarian he is. He has the kindest heart and soul and has completely dedicated his life to music since 2 years old when he first went on stage.
I've sub'd to follow you along in this new discovery and hope to see you do more, there's about 100 + song, all unique to select from.

It is so refreshing to finally find a reactor that took the time to do his own research on Dimash. So many others dive into Dimash and then ask the listeners to bring them up to speed. Excellent job. Now, all you have to do is sit back and be amazed at his talent. Dimash does vocal training for 3-5 hours a day, every day. He made a statement that if you were to cut open his heart, you would see music. I hope you continue to listen to Dimash. He is not just a singer. He is a true performer and totally immerses himself in every song he sings. He has input into everything about his music. He still does vocal training for 3-5 hours a day every day. He also had a concert in New York that sold out. There were "Dears", the name he has given his fans, from 47 States and 54 countries. With all that he has going for himself, he is a very humble person and never misses an opportunity to acknowledge everyone who works with him. Before you become too inundated with suggestions, I would like to recommend Love Is Like A Dream, Sinful Passion, Your Love, Oplympico, Ave Maria, Ikanaide, Love Of Tired Swans, and Stranger. Thank you again for this video and I look forward to more of Dimash from you.

This was fun to watch, thank you for taking the time to appreciate and share Dimash! I'm sure this has been mentioned more than once but this is no where near the top nor the bottom of his range. Personally I don't even feel that this is his best performance of this piece, though all of his performances are incredible! Check out "Stranger" at New Wave, "Olympico", or if you want your head to explode watch "Unforgettable Day" at Gakku.
Really he has a song for every feeling, every preference, every mood. He knows how to put on a show, top to bottom, start to finish, no detail left unaddressed. He is a true showman, an artist unmatched in skill, and the most humble being.
