      I was on tour when Jamie passed. I didn't get a chance to know him, but from what I've heard through the grapevine was that he was a great kid. Dedicated and motivated. He will always be remembered as a hero, you can at least take some solace in that I suppose. I understand words are cheap, but if they're meant from a place of love and are heartfelt, take some semblance of happiness from that to try to temper your grief ever so slightly.

    It never cease's to amaze me how little the younger generations truly know about Canada and I for one am thankful that Julian put this song on the air. Raised by a Pat I can understand and respect all of it. I hope only to one day, soon, follow those steps and leave my own. Thank you Julian for making the song and THANK YOU to all troops serving to keep me, mine and everyone else free... Eternal gratitude is extended to you for your loses and pain. From the heart... THANK YOU!

      It is nice to hear people talk about us Canadians that way, thank you. The truth is we are an easy going people but if it comes down to having to fight we will do everything in our power to make it end quickly. We have taken part in many conflicts and wars we just choose to not advertise it. i like to think of us as the big brother, we may not say much but we'll help you when your down.

    Actually the American ammo did help... Their .50 cal ammo can go further because it is more arrow dynamic. That and heating up the bullets helped too as they do add distance on the shot.

    @RazorCell7 Robert Furlong did use American ammunition to get the kill. He states it in his interview. Its the man not the bullet who gets the credit though.

  • @TheMrfreedomrequired

    I think you are absolutely right....He got the kill...because he wanted it! There are so many hunters and fishers in Canada...they make purely great soldiers. If we have to fight a war in a warm land....that is a blessing!

    and that sniper's first shot took out a moving truck at 2400 meters then a miss fine he's 2 and a half klicks away then he took out the driver of said truck. i got to meet the guy and we had to prod him quite a bit but he finally broke down and told us about it. poor guy has to live with that shit that can't be easy.

    I never said the Americans had something to do with his kill. The American issue .50cal ammo helped a tad. Even Rob Furlong in his interview said that it helped a bit as their ammo can go further than the Canadian issued ammo.

  • @KevinBishop95
    @KevinBishop95 13 лет назад

    @RazorCell7 Sorry it took so long to respond. Being a patriotic Canadian, any opinions of mine are probably biased. I would however, state that Robert Furlong still would have gotten the kill. I'm no ballistics expert and i'm not even out of high school yet so my personal opinions really can't be used to determine if it is possible that he would have got the kill with Canadian ammunition or any other ammunition but as I said above, I think he would have gotten the kill regardless of ammo origin.

    its Ironic... we are a peace loving country and hate wars, mean while we out preform every other country who we go to war with. Got the farthest on D-day, one Canadian liberates an entire city, and we took longest sniper kill record (nice shot Furlong, and yes im aware that a british sniper now holds the record but we took 3 shots and they took 9 ! :3) Don't underestimate us. Were small but we are very highly trained.

  • @OoComatoseo0

    Okay, I do think you do need to go back and watch the interview. He did have Canadian ammo but ran out and used American ammo he got from Americans on the field because he had no more Canadian. He took the shot with American ammo which their .50 cal round is different from ours and is more arrow dynamic. I'm not talking out of my ass, I'm talking with the brain I have.

    It brings tears to my eyes, everything my ancestors gave to keep this country now it gets sold of to foreigners. All thrown away. Every other country is allowed to keep their culture and ways but Canada is the worlds doormat. I've had enough, we've become weak and pathetic!

    • @victorolsen2828
      @victorolsen2828 6 лет назад

      I would disagree, both economically and culturally. We've never been a British or French identity, always Canadian, be it British or French Canadian. When immigrants come to canada they follow our laws and rules to an extent and are allowed and only allowed to follow their own practices if it keeps out of the way of Canadian practices.
