I care. My husband and son both served. My husband in Operation desert storm 91, and my son 3 tours in operation enduring freedom. I lost them both to overdoses. They suffered from war. This song is appreciated and beautiful.
My heart goes out to you. Unimaginable to most. I too know of several CAF members who lost their battle back home, following tours in Afghanistan. My brother was killed in Kandahar on Thanksgiving weekend of 2006. Much love and respect to you. 💙
My father fought with his demons from Korea. By the time we grew up he dived into a bottle and finally came out when I was in my 40's. I can't imagine what he went through but I know how badly it colored his life.
I know that feeling. But I’m still over here. I’m military for 32 years and counting. I came in in the first Desert Storm. I have been through over ten tours. Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia Africa, how old is released some parts of Asia no, I keep going I’m fighting for our rights as Americans to do what we want within reason to have our own political inspiration and views I just pray that We can all come together and figure this out if we were all ready to spend a little not break from what we believe is where little flexible we could have a country right now either we could be in a sample of an alarm I pray for peace around the world, and also in our own country God bless you!

Stood a ramp ceremony in Kandahar as 4 of our brave Canadian brothers were loaded onto an aircraft for their final journey home. Brave warriors! Rest Easy Brothers!
In 2010 I attended 11 ramp ceremonies at Kandahar Airfield for our fallen soldiers. Personally speaking, It was extra tough knowing the horrible journey that lay ahead of their loved ones back home. Lost my brother in Kandahar on October 7th of 2006. We remember, each and every day. Peace, love and respect to all. Lest We Forget 🌺
My family we're combat veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. One served the United Nations as a peacekeeper in Cyprus before the combat tour. They dont swap war stories. Cousin Richard only told me one story of his firefight cheers boys for still being here

My Grandfather was Army Air corps in the Pacific, my Great Uncle was Navy in Korea, my Father was Navy in Vietnam, I'm Army Bosnia 99-00, I was in Korea when they hit the towers, Iraq 03-04.....none of us truly ever come home💯😞🪖🇺🇸 but we keep popping smoke and moving out💯 I have a son and 3 cousins in the Navy right now⚓🍻
Im 20 and 2 years ago, I wanted to be a Marine all my life, my parents made a deal with me, they'd agree to let me go if I promised to graduate high school first, about 2 months after I graduated I almost died finding out I was in a DKA- diabetic ketoacidosis, i got told it was so severe i was only minutes away from death, after 5 days of being in ICU, I got released and then got told diabetes is a "disease" and I'd be a "liability" basically, so couldn't join... now that I'm 20 and accepted it, I really hope working my ass off will pay off and I'll be able to help as many vets, homeless vets, and familys of service members as possible🤘 God bless all of you men and women who sacrifice your life's for our freedom, thank you for your all the sacrifices you've made 🇺🇲🤘

Yeah...taking care of those who volunteer to go do the most horrific things imaginable so as to spare the rest of us from that experience and preserve our existence should never be an issue. I'll never forget the folks in the Canadian Navy who gathered up my fellow U.S. Marines and I after the Persian Gulf War. Showed us around Canada. Great clubs there by the way in 91. The first night of liberty we spent on a beach drinking and singing and...well, you know, having fun living lol. Good people those Canadian sailors. Good fun. Good times. Semper Fi ps. As to the song? Well said...very well said.
I never really started "coming home":, until G. I used to wake up every night with nightmares. Every d*mn night. G... she calmed some of that. Over time, Nightmares went from every night, to maybe once a week. Eventually once a month. But without G., I would never have "come home". But finding a woman like that - who can help you "come home"? That's... really hard. Really rare. Precious.

Please no. I don't deserve that. I don't have a service record. My PTSD comes from other things. I new guys who served, some of whom never really came home. I see some similarities in what they dealt with afterwards, and what I dealt with. These kinds of songs speak to me because of that, and because of those guys. They deserve your thanks.

While true that only those who have been there truly understand, it is so critical that their stories are told and their service remembered. For if we forget, we repeat and our societies at large need to be reminded of the overbearing costs of war. Thank you for your service.

In the cemetery in the British town I live in there are graves from the 1st and 2nd World War. Few are British . Most are Canadian , Austrailian or New Zealand a long way from home . A few days ago I I financially helped a young woman who served as a Royal Engineer Sapper in the 2nd Gulf war and Afghanistan . A pleasant woman who was ashamed to beg . But she was begging . For a room and a shower and some food for the night . I also know of many British military who have suffered mental illness . The Charities are good and I support them . But they only have so much money and there are so many to care for . I know of one special US Army person who occasionally goes back to Afghanistan in his mind . He is alive today because someone cares . So, he has not took his life and he never will now . This is how our Guardian Angel's are treated . Like rubbish . It should not be so .
am I the only one who's thinking....many more are yet to fall? soon too. and in a manner we haven't seen in 75 years on the earth. Am I the only one appalled by the fact that we have not evolved at all, not one damn bit, in 4000 years? Maybe we don't deserve to survive free at all really. I ponder it from time to time. Am I alone????
It is definitely an indicator of the shortfalls of humanity that we seem incapable of learning from the past for very long. But defending the places where compassion and love have a chance to grow has to be still worth it.
I'm really sorry to hear about that I had my shares of thoughts of suicide but never proceed after lost my fiancee my 3 kids died in car accident when I was in Iraq I found out 4 years after it has happened I was shot in head from ricochet

In the cemetery in the British town I live in there are graves from the 1st and 2nd World War. Few are British . Most are Canadian , Austrailian or New Zealand a long way from home .
A few days ago I I financially helped a young woman who served as a Royal Engineer Sapper in the 2nd Gulf war and Afghanistan . A pleasant woman who was ashamed to beg . But she was begging . For a room and a shower and some food for the night . I also know of many British military who have suffered mental illness . The Charities are good and I support them . But they only have so much money and there are so many to care for .
I know of one special US Army person who occasionally goes back to Afghanistan in his mind . He is alive today because someone cares . So, he has not took his life and he never will now .
This is how our Guardian Angel's are treated . Like rubbish . It should not be so .

My older son is still fighting demons from serving 2 tours in Iraq. My younger son also has PTSD from serving 2 tours in Iraq!

It is definitely an indicator of the shortfalls of humanity that we seem incapable of learning from the past for very long. But defending the places where compassion and love have a chance to grow has to be still worth it.

I'm really sorry to hear about that I had my shares of thoughts of suicide but never proceed after lost my fiancee my 3 kids died in car accident when I was in Iraq I found out 4 years after it has happened I was shot in head from ricochet
