Justin I met you in Kandahar airfield in 2006. You gave us an impromptu jam session at Canada house with you and other artists from the Canadian Contingent Show. It has been the highlight of my tour in Afghanistan. You guys really raised our. moral and we really felt that you really care about us (the CF members) . Thank you for you amazing support all these years.
Great song...lots of good people in that video. My name is Quenten Mullin, I am a Bosnia & Afghanistan Veteran. I wrote a song titled "Another Man Down," & I think it would be a good fit for you...you can have the song completely. Great job!
Our Canadian Troops and their Medical Teams are typically working on #PEACEKEEPING Missions that involve TREMENDOUS RISKS in efforts to make another part of our Planet BETTER than they encountered it. We MUST ENSURE that our #Vets are RESPECTED, and I'm pleased to advise that Canada has been showing some GREAT #CARE lately at places like #Sunnybrook, our largest Veterans' Residence Home. It give me Chills seeing and talking with patients and staff, hearing how they're now being treated. NOTE that these residents are from All Countries and are former "Enemies" who had often fought each other but now Share Activities like Bowling, Special Events and every daily meal. It's AMAZING to see and hear them make LIGHT of such historical Trauma, now that they're finally Comfortable and able to reminisce on the Ugliness of #WAR Thank You JULiAN for emphasing how we MUST REMEMBER our Veterans' Sacrifices.... And Thank You Veteran Affairs Canada for providing SUCH Comfortable Living for our Veterans' final days.... Truly Appreciated! Thank you #Sunnybrook Health Centre for your INCREDIBLE SERVICE and DEVOTION, Too! Perhaps Songs like THIS can #help in Other parts of our World? Thank You JULIAN for letting me #share this observation as I have had the honour of recently assisting in their routines. Julian I see you visited Cpl. Mike Starker’s gravesite with Joey. Thank you for this song. Just the best. From another vet and a retired Firefighter. That’s my wife’s name as the sender.
Wow what a great tribute to all Veterans!!! I'm the provincial president of Québec Un-Nato Canada and your song will be shared all around ours group. Thanx you for your service and for that strong words in that song. You are welcome here in Québec if you pass by. Thanx Brother!
***tears*** To ALL those who "serve" us, in whatever capacity, Thank YOU!, from the bottom of my heart, for everything you've sacrificed, for us. I feel like I have a thousand more words to say here but, they all boil down to... Thank You, Thank YOU, and... THANK YOU!👍🏼✌🏼🇨🇦
Served 21 years. Started 1 RCR injured then aero engine tech, 15 years supporting search and rescue. 5 or 6 years volunteer firefighter. Volunteered VON and Central Community Health Centre, drove mobile unit, treating adults, children's fluoride clinics, group homes, flu clinics, needle exchanges, even did radio commercial. Did a little hydro therapy volunteering in 3rd world. Put a good spin on that, but have a dark side to me also. Treated for many physical and some major mental issues. But civilian and VAC state I do not have PTSD but all my military buddies believe I suffer from PTSD. Strange,. A few years back a couple of ex Pat's did a cross Canada March for PTSD. Had lunch with them was rather shocked at how open they were about the negatives it caused in their lives.
Amazing! I met you in Afghanistan in Kabul 04-05 tour, I’ve struggled and this song is my struggle! My family has saved me, I chose to serve them and now I have a reason to keep fighting. Thanks you’re song the red and white helped.
Everytime i watch this video i cry. A soldier with my brothers name on his tattoo is in your video and its s great honor but still makes me sad and miss him.Thank you because there are more that we need to save❤❤❤
0.23 Royal Scot Dragoon Guard saw a lot of those cap badges from 1997-2009 at CFB Suffield medical centre. Wore both cap badges when I got my intro to military life (Army Cadets 1968-71) (Royal Scots Greys, Royal Scots Dragoon Guards) was at the amalgamation ceremony in summer of 1971 I believe.
So grateful for all those that serve .. I am a military vet myself, this made me cry… I can feel the emotions as you sing.. thank-you, great song, great tribute!! Respect ♥️
amazing song Julian, i have been serving in the CAF for the past six years and i have lost friends both in Afghanistan and very recently with a master sailor who i deployed with back in 2019 who was a dear friend and mentor to me, and this song touches me greatly as i still remember the last time i talked to them and i wish that i had one more chance to talk to them again, so once again thank you for honoring our fallen brothers and sisters
A little less than a month ago I was riding back from St.Andrews on my bike when I encountered a group six Canadian Veterans on bikes. ( they had their vests on ). Being a club I wasn't sure what the riding etiquette was. Do I fall in behind them or keep my distance? The rider at the rear waved me on past so I got into the passing lane and merged back in front of them. I thought for sure they would have reduced their speed and fall back a ways behind me but no, oddly enough they sped up to match my speed and fell in behind me! They would ride behind me all pretty much all the way to the Grand Bay/ Westfield where five of the six took that exit and the last rider would continue on with me until I got off the highway. I have to say it was kind of awesome riding with them !
Thank you so much Julian. I found this video while searching for Remembrance Day videos (I was in the CAF for 25 years) and yes it does apply but I just love the recognition of our first responders. The most important take away of this great song/video is PTSD - I hope that anyone who is experiencing any mental health issues to please reach out to a professional or a friend or family member. I suffered from PTSD and was reluctant to reach out for help but I did and that is why I'm here now.
Mr. Julian Austin and all your band member Thank You , like the song says Unsung Heroes and in my eyes you are all one of them .again thank you for your support and this great song.
As a man with PTSD this song sends chills to my spine thank you I'm an American and you're a Canadian and you understand the problem now can we get the rest of the world to understand it just as much
Thanks for your honesty. I just found your music this evening. Already know you sing from the depths of some of the same valleys of sorrow and strength that give us the real soul of a song. Reality. Nobody sings a song with that unless they too have suffered great loss. Kudos, neighbor
Just came across your songs and all I can say is AWESOME. Just seeing 2 videos and I can say you are the Canadian Trace Adkins. As a First Responder I can say thank you.
I just found this song. As a veteran who has come many times to just giving up and letting PTSD win I keep fighting everyday. There’s good days and bad days, at least lately there’s been more good but the bad ones still come. Thank you from a fellow Sussex NB’er. Keep up the great work you do. Also we meet once in Petawawa back in 2007/08 it was great meeting you then and hopefully again someday.
Julian much respect for your service 🐕🦺 for us all 💯💪 and like always is a great song and the great people in the mix of this video are amazing to the fullest so much talent for us all and the ones are those instruments are great but sad about the pill 💊 but glad he survived from the heart ❤️ and from Wisconsin looking for more and PTSD could not even 💯 imagine what y'all had to endure in the mix of it all 💯 but so glad you made it home and putting your self in music for us all 💯
I'm retired US Army and a Vietnam Veteran. It hurts my heart to see the ravages of war and how both physically and mentally the toll it has taken. Through the ages, PTSD has never been recognized or treated properly. We live with the invisible scars and been labeled. Thanks so much for being a champion and keeping the awareness of PTSD in the forefront. God Bless You! I pray that we lose no more Heroes to this disease.🙏🇺🇸🇻🇬🇹🇻🇦🇺🇨🇦
PTSD is really hard to live with, but I am living with it one day at a time.
Remember you are not along and dance like nobody's watching . peace out
