Thanks for another quality comprehensive review Eddie. I have rather mixed views of Cathay Pacific at present, but your experience with them by all accounts is still satisfactory. I feel the menus and wine lists are a little limited compared to some of their competitors. I feel sorry for Cathay at present with their financial woes now being added to by the drop off in business as a result of the coronavirus.
Nice review. Hopefully Cathay restart the route soon. It had been a great addition to Dublin. I flew it last year and it’s handy to have an option for a lot people heading to Asia that doesn’t involve going through the Dubai. The DAA lounge is pretty poor. Thankfully they have started to up their game with the new East Lounge.
Flights were due to start again in April 2020 but this may be delayed given current situation with CV-19. I’ve been flying this route from NZ and it was such a fantastic alternative to the NZ-UAE-IRL option. First the protests in HK and now CV-19 may be the death for this service. I hope not 🤞🏻
@@eddiekhoo2046 I used to transit through HK with Cathay back in the late 1980's coming back from Aus and NZ. Loved the service back then and it seems to me it is now much better than back then. Again, thank you and I will watch out for more of your excellent videos :-D Best wishes from Maine USA!
Wow 20 inches of width my Ragdoll cat wouldn't fit in there mate let alone me because even 650 mm is pushing it but I think I saw one of your reviews on the 787 which has a collapsible arm rest I think. Always good to your videos Eddie.
This was before the outbreak so definitely no risk with this flight. I am flying to Europe later in the year...I hope the CV situation gets under control!!!! :S
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to afford - or justify - a business class flight in my life and, seeing as CP have just cancelled my May flight to HK (which I’ve been waiting a year for), looks like this video will be my only CP flight experience for another year!
The route is currently offline, but CX had planned to reinstate it towards the end of March 2020 if everything goes to plan. Coronvirus, however, seems to have put a spanner in the works.... :s
Eddie Khoo I had a Dub-HK flight set for May, booked last summer. I nervously watched all the protests going on in HK in 2019 - curious how they might affect airlines and their operations - and saw CP curtail their flights, as CP took a hit from the drop in Chinese visitors. Then we made it to January - and Now the Coronavirus emerged as a new, much worse threat! My May flight from Dub has now been cancelled by CP, and I’ve asked just for a full refund instead of the hassle and uncertainty of trying to rebook elsewhere (and also the sensible thing now is probably not to travel to a pandemic frontline city, which my doctor also advised me). It’s a pity - I like CP, and was looking forward to trying out the Dub-HK flight. Still, I’ll be interested to rebook with CP at the end of the year, or next if needed; I don’t blame them for having to cancel flights and scramble like the rest of us at at the moment, and I’m happy to give them my custom again, despite their also partially killing a return visit I’ve been waiting three years for. But, still, I hope they don’t cancel the Dub-HK link outright after this, as that’s preferable to Heathrow transfers...
To Eddie thank you for your fantastic videos as always , what important have a large meal before your flights or big meals during the flight and travels kits do you keep them, and do you a favorite airline for different airline routes or for different parts of the world Thank you Eddie for your travels 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇭🇲😃
Cant understand Cathays decision to pull the Dublin HK flight during the northetn hemispheres winter months. I was booked in for a flight to Sydney in November from Dublin and it was pulled meaning i had to fly from England. Many people in Ireland have relatives in Australia and the Cathay service could have been geared towards that market. Instead Etihad, Emirates and Qatar are filling that void.
0:33 Pandemic: I have other plans EDIT: I noticed my cment seemed like it could offend someone, since Cathay Pacific airways is kinda Chinese/Hong Kong soo
I can not believe that an asian carrier as prominient as Cathay's menu did not include one asian inspired dish for main course. To me the menu was boring and dispite this filmed in business class it looked clostaphobic. Sorry Eddie but it's a huge thumbs down from me.
Thanks for watching and giving some honest feedback about the experience. I wonder if this has to do with the catering in Dublin? Maybe they aren't able to secure an Asian meal option of good quality, so CX decided not to offer one? To be honest, the CX menus are pretty meh compared to the likes of SQ. The reverse herringbone seats used to be a big draw card for CX, but lots of J class have them now and theirs are nothing special. I hope they have something in the pipelines soon...
Wonderful Compilation
Thanks, again, for sharing your flight with us. It is always fun to see what you come up with.
You present your trip reports in such a gentlemanly way. Well done. Another classy review, thank you, Eddie.
Many thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed my presentation style :)
Thanks Eddie - it's nice to have a bit of escapism while I sit in my shop.
I really enjoy your trip review, it so details, please keep it up, Eddie. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! Stay tuned for my upcoming review of the flight to Sydney :)
Awesome trip report! Very informative, well presented and just all around great! Liked!
Crew and catering on Cathay, is second to none
great video again, and some nice food
I always look forward to a new Eddie review, thanks for another excellent report.

Another Nice video Eddie . I have ones bad experience of Cathay from Bangkok to Hong Kong . So I won’t chosen Cathay anymore 🤟
Nice, thanks

wow the business product on cathay looks great!! shame they're gonna stop the a350 service to dublin

Very nice. Thank you.
I finally got to try Cathay Pacific Business Class on 5/2/2020 - Hong Kong to Sydney CX161 - Airbus A330-300

Eddie...due to the CV I do not think this route will be reinstated so soon...
Yeah, when I did the text for this review it was a couple of weeks ago. Looks like CX may delay the route when the CV situation improves.... :s
Burger.. Chips... And a coke... Can't beat it
The food looked amazing. Did you eat it all ?
Nice video. I enjoyed watching it.
Have you ever flown with Concorde in earlier days?
Great review Eddie ✈
Appreciate your view and comment Rod. Stay tuned for my next review! :)

How would you compare this flight to Qatar on the same route ?
First to comment Eddie...havent watched it yet but know irs going to be good...cheers
Good effort on being the first to comment Steve. Hope you enjoyed it :)
Seat 21K has a back wall...nice.
Flying ? Just thinking maybe without oxygen..That thought always scares me.
2:50 "Needn't" is that a real word?
Yup, it's just one of those words you don't often see
何時有新片出?
Can I take a flight with you just one time? I'm being serious.
0:33 Pandemic: I have other plans
EDIT: I noticed my cment seemed like it could offend someone, since Cathay Pacific airways is kinda Chinese/Hong Kong soo
Nah don't worry about it
Tripreport Singapore airlines from osaka to singapore in first class
hey the stir fry dish looks very economic indeed. Should've done better in business class tbh.
200th view. 43rd Minute.
Well done! :)
Instead of the written script , just speak
I’d stay away from Cathay.

Could'nt agree more Eddie.
Happy travels I enjoy your vlogs so a much appreciated thank you.
