I wasn't convinced when you bought "McLantern", but man you have been having a good time with it, and it's been treating you great. Awesome content. Love the fun you are having. The details are perfect. Have a great Christmas friend!
Thank you for another video my feed was getting boring. I needed this track battle. lol you're one of the only channels I'm waiting for the next one. Like a fat kid loves cake...I can't get enough 😂😂😂😂😂
Austin! Can you make a video about everything you need to bring to a track day? Gear/tools, food, somewhere to sit? A Trackday Gear List from you would be so dope! Thanks brother!
I'll be hitting the track soon as I get my car ready. But I've been interested in learning how to just go to open tracks like you guys here. I've had my classes in the past and just want to get some seat time on track without going back to doin any schooling type stuff.
Awesome driving on an awesome track. What db was max as you did not seem to lift off much past the sound shack? Loved the speedo, tach, and gear selection. Keep them coming.
Speed Phenom Awesome Video I think it's so awesome that you beat your Personal best at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in your 600LT with old tires and 91 Octane fuel and I think you should go for it again with New Tires and 101 Octane Fuel
How does that car compare to the McLaren 570S? I've been in the market for a 570S. I have a 91 NSX with full interior and bone stock motor and transmission w/ only intake, header and exaust (and Penske double adjustable dampers). I run 1:39's on Nitto NT01 R comps. I'm surprised this McLaren is only 7 seconds faster. My NSX only puts down 266 HP to the rear wheels.
Hey Austin, on the tracks out here in the Midwest we are use to dealing with puddles and it raining on the track all the time from the summer storms; and you haven't done a "real" track day yet until you have experienced running the rain line on a track..! :-)
Hold up. A Viper acr did 1:28 if i remember and cost less than half the price of the 600 LT. The hp numbers are the SAME or close at 600WHP. Congrats on the time, but i will predict the new Z06 to be as fast or faster based on Corvette engineers saying it will hang with the ZR1. Not to dilute your impressive driving skills, but you can go fast for much cheaper. I will also predict that a modded C8 Stingray with supercharger and GUTTED for track, would be as impressive.
Thanks! Think the Z06 will do good out here. Can't wait to see what it does! I understand where you are coming from with the ACR, however the tests are drastically different. From my knowledge, Dodge facilitated the test at the track, and had as much resources as they needed to put down their lap time (sets of fresh tires, brakes, etc). Plus, a professional hotlap driver. When manufacturers do tests, they also go as far as optimizing camber and suspension for SPECIFIC tracks, whereas I have a uniform set up for all. They even adjust aero perfectly for each track. Conditions are most important, because if you are able to run in the morning at low temps, you can be seconds faster. As I mentioned in my track notes at the end of my lap, this was nowhere near a perfect lap. If we compare professional drivers and good condition tests, the ACR put down a 1:47.7 at Buttonwillow, and the 600LT did 1:45. When the test was repeated with Motortrend, the best Randy put down for best drivers car was a 1:31.6 with ACR... This shows the massive difference in time cause by different driving conditions. Hope this info helps, thanks for watching! :)
Just a little note. I know you switched to steel rotors for cost over the life of the car when in regards to ownership. I still believe the car is not stopping as fast as it should nor as late as it could due to you removing the carbon ceramics. Yes, they cost a lot of money but they are made for the race tracks and high performance environment in which you subject your car too. McLaren did the research and they like Corvette, Porsche, Ferrari, etc know that the best stopping performance comes from Carbon Ceramic brakes especially when made from Brembo. So I strongly believe you can set a even faster lap with those brakes. Steel rotors just do not hold the thermal capacity that ceramics can hold. By virtue of design since carbon is a great heat tolerate. And in this video since I have been following you for a minute now you were indeed quite sloppy. Compared to some of your best work I have seen. I still think its crazy I do not see you racing for anyone or a sponsorship body but man keep it up
Between this and tracking the c8, my favorite videos. Nice to see them being used for what they were designed for.
OMG Austin that was totally insane! We were pulling G's on our couch just watching you send it through the corkscrew!
Wow great driving once again Austin and congrats on the PB! You were bookin'!!!

Great to see the added info on screen. Thanks a bunch.
Man you had a good time! LOL! So good to see!
Congrats on the pb. You didn't leave a lot there to improve on. Looked like a screaming fast lap to me!

Clean driving. A few early turn-ins but you're getting there.
Congratulations man😘, love your content 😍
Would love to see a comparison video of the different octanes in the LT!
Awesome driving on an awesome track. What db was max as you did not seem to lift off much past the sound shack? Loved the speedo, tach, and gear selection. Keep them coming.

You should come to austin Texas and try COTA out there are also some very fun roads around the austin area also
He already has a video of him at Cota.

Great driving!
Great job
Thanks!
Next time come to laguna if want an extra camera view wouldn’t mind filming you it’s 5 min from my house !
Haha that's awesome! Really appreciate it
Awesome 😎
Crazy that the stock ACR and GT2 RS both did 1:28’s. This Mclaren is no joke though @ 1:32.
You sound like Randy Pobst beginning 6:52 lol.
You should buy the AP Racing kit for your 600lt
wonder you used paddle shift or the automatic
Are your cars insured for your track sessions, and if so how does your insurance work?
Speed Phenom Awesome Video I think it's so awesome that you beat your Personal best at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in your 600LT with old tires and 91 Octane fuel and I think you should go for it again with New Tires and 101 Octane Fuel
He needs to have the C8R there too. Back to back hot laps would be killer content!

Still banging on about carbon brakes!
