Wow! ABSOLUTELY love it when you turn up the dial and start entry corner oversteering. Can really you see how that slip angle gives you those extra 10ths. Beautiful to watch
Interested to hear your thoughts on this car compared to a 992 GT3. I've had significant seat time in 992 GT3's but have only ever ridden in a GT4RS and I've always been very intrigued by this car.
992 GT3 is quite a bit faster in the corners and a bit better under braking. The 992 has a lot more downforce (50% more I believe). Same speed in the straights. The front end grip on the 992 is night and day difference. The GT4 RS is incredibly balanced, so if it slides it is fun to control, and you can manipulate it a lot trail braking into a corner and throttling coming out. Both amazing cars, 992 definitely quite a bit faster somewhere like Sonoma/Thunderhill. Laguna it will be closer with more straights.
I was in the white 991 street cup and slowed down cause of the S2000 which I passed at T10. You passed me at T9 and I was going to follow you but decided not to cause your brake lights were on the entire time. Not sure what was going on but definitely didnt want to smash into you. Unfortunately, I was stuck at 1:31 all day.
It was so strange the light was on the whole time. I am not sure if it happened while waiting in the line so long for the session to start or what. Aleks restarted it and it never had an issue again later. I only drove the first and last advanced group in his car. What a fun day. The track was a bit slow - not sure if you felt the same but the painted areas had very little grip from the previous rainy weeks. I was getting abs everywhere painted. Still so great to get out there. Had a blast together!
dude. the track felt slow! esp midday, not sure what was happening but towards the end I was getting slightly faster. was so much fun nonetheless! 4/6 next! @@TurninTrackOut
He's a good driver and I made more space than it looked like just in case. I'm glad he caught it for his sake though - don't want anyone hitting that wall.
Great driving as always. I was out there in my ss1le. Had I known you were there, I would’ve asked you to take my car out and show me what’s possible. Of course, you’d likely reject given you have access to much faster cars! lol I think I counted 3 Sennas there! Was quite the turn out
I would love to take it out sometime, we just need to coordinate. Yeah, this event was pretty hectic so many cool cars. I wasn't even able to drive a friend's 992 GT3 RS and I haven't driven one yet. Also wasn't able to take out my friend's all carbon Senna. Both asked and was killing me inside to say no to both, but we will for your car with due time!
Whats a proper setup mean? Like a track alignment? cause a stock gt4rs at my local track, streets of willow was just understeering at every corner. Was very surprising so we all thought the car would greatly benefit from some camber and a track oriented alignment. The car still put down a 1:20ish but we all thought it would’ve been sub 1:20 on its first go
Yeah they do understeer pretty bad from the factory. You can see me driving one without alignment or Goodyear 3r’s at thunderhill 5 mile and it was atrocious. He has put in the camber plates (front and rear) and added the grippier tires. Together it made a huge difference. Getting the camber plates and alignment seems to be the key item, almost mandatory.
Of course - I have it on the right side of my helmet with a gopro helmet mount. I have settings that capture the entire cockpit and I can zoom in during editing to make sure it is aligned properly regardless of the angle I happen to get it set at when I go out for the session. I will try to make a quick video on how I have it setup and my settings for the GoPro 11 black.
Interesting - it looked like the helmet was moving relative to the camera but I must have seen something else. Great video, awesome laps.@@TurninTrackOut
Sometimes the stabilization can move the picture field of view in x/y directions to reduce noise. That would be my guess. I see it too now that you mention it.
Read my mind as I was typing the comment. I think you're right because it likely sees the track as the horizon as the reference frame to stabilize towards.
Thanks, I use a GoPro Hero 11 black. I am going to make a video on all of my settings and setup soon since a lot of people have been asking me at the track.
It was about 1.5-2.0 seconds faster end of last year when good rubber was down for street cars. I'd say that first session in the video was 1.0-1.5 seconds faster. Already by the end of the day it was starting to get better, but in the morning it was slow over painted sections and there was dirt/water a lot of places. Should be back to 1.5-2.0 seconds soon. For faster race cars it's more like 3 seconds.
This was a 105dB day, so it passed just fine. I'm actually not sure what dB it hits at Laguna. Don't quote me on this, but I think it is quieter on the outside than the 992 GT3, which is about 103dB. The 4RS is very loud on the inside though - in an awesome way.
I'll be reposting a lot of the videos just with the laps. Laguna and Sonoma are repaved now and are much faster than before, but will get some of the laps back soon.
SCCA racer and Porsche owner here. Nice to see a fast car actually driven fast.
Great driving, clean and efficient. That car must be epic to drive on the limit. And Laguna never disappoints.

Brilliant driving. Cold control and effective attack
One of my favorite channel's on youtube. Thanks for all your uploads Jeff!
great driving! very consistent and impressive
Wow amazing sound & driving! Love it!!!
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing driving 👏👏👏
Great driving. I would love to hear your take about the 991.2 Gt3rs and 992 gt3
Great driving
Hell yeah man! Love it!🔥
So much power in a Cayman! Looks really enjoyable to drive. Gonna buy one? :)
So nice to have the power. I'm going split ownership on a 2018 GT3. Making the change to rear engine. Should be all setup around May.
@@TurninTrackOutExciting!! Can't wait for the vids.
Great hands and driving

Same. Last session was finally feeling a bit better. Hope to see you out there again. Good times!
We love these vids! When that 911 went wide on 11 though 🫣 glad he didn’t oversteer onto your path!

What alignment specs is the car running?

May I ask how you mounted your camera? I like the full view of the cockpit that you have and it doesn't seem to be a static mount back on the roll bar

@@TurninTrackOut oh wait so are you stabilizing it relative to the track? If so that makes sense - the helmet is definitely moving in the frame!

Disgusting quick, haha
It's fast 💪
What's a set of tires cost these days?
and what color is that? Shark Blue?
Nice run! Difference between Ferrari and Porsche? - Porsche sells driving machines, Ferraris sells luxury cars.
Awesome…. !!! Could you please let me know what lap timing App or device you are using on the right corner of the windshield ?
Its a Garmin Catalyst
Ok, so that’s how you do it.
Isn't the Cayman GT4 RS over the Laguna Seca decibel limit, even stock?
This was a 105dB day, so it passed just fine. I'm actually not sure what dB it hits at Laguna. Don't quote me on this, but I think it is quieter on the outside than the 992 GT3, which is about 103dB. The 4RS is very loud on the inside though - in an awesome way.
Tell me, friend. What's heaven like?
Why drive in automatic? Semi auto paddle shift that beast
It’s in manual you can tell by where the shifter is. I never leave it in auto. Totally agree
why always deleted the old video, I like your 12C and 720s 765LT Senna more and more...
want to compare with the other cars, see how differents

I hope you bring back the ACR vs GT2 RS videos, it had great information on tires!@@TurninTrackOut
