***FIVE STAR TRIVIA TIME!!!*** ...whenever you're ready, 'cause I AM.......(3:22)......
    - ....Oh, soooooo much trivia.....MUCH! .....Five Star CLEARLY were influenced by the Jacksons, but with them being from the UK, they stood out im-meeeediately, because 1. the group were more Female-friendly (because of Sisters Deniece, Lorraine & Doris Pearson), and 2. the 'lookalike' Brothers Stedman & Delroy (that resembled Malcolm Jamal Warner & Michael Jackson)......
    - ...they garnered R&B notice FAST with "All Fall Down" in the USA (#12 R&B, Nov. 1985), then, hit the Top Ten with "Let Me Be The One" (#2 R&B, March 1986), and hit #8 R&B with a 6 minute remix of "Love Take Over"....but, they were SLAYING on the Pop charts in the UK!
    - ....The UK only tunes "System Addict" hit #1 Pop, and the other tunes, "RSVP", "Hide & Seek", "Winning", & "Crazy" ALL went Top 20 Pop....and these were all from their DEBUT Album! ...their 2nd Album ("Silk & Steel") had SEVEN Top 20 (UK) Pop hits!!! ...they.....were......BIG.........................
    - ....but, they also were big....in the HEAD; they were rumored to have gotten VERY snotty, and holier than THOU, and it turned off UK fans.....their 3rd Album ("Between The Lines"), released this tune as the 1st single (Summer 1988), and it stiffed........
    - .....they had the issue of being too "Pop" for (USA) Black audiences, and too "Black" for (UK) audiences (5:00) ....But they are VERY good and talented....do MORE of thier stuff, Empress, you will LOVE them.....TRUST............

I adored 5 Star back in the day and still have a little soft spot for them today. There biggest hits were between 1984 and 1986. The best part of this track is from 4:04 onwards. I actually wished that the chorus was this part. ❤

As a Five Star fan, they can do no wrong, but the album this track came from had more catchier bops. But at the time in 1987, this song was fun and uplifting.

They were the UK's answer to the Jacksons because their dad who was their manager patterned the group after Joe Jackson did with the jackson 5, and at that time the jackson 5 was a great rags to riches story among black people in the states and in other black communities in other countries. Especially on how big MJ became and was at the time so it inspired a lot of folk to do the same with their kids. The J5 influence should not be underestimated. If you heard of the Jets a family from Tonga who are pacific islanders their father did the same with his kids after seeing the J5 and how Joe Jackson brought it about, The Jets came out around the same time Five Star did.

Five Star was quite big in the UK until rupert murdoch's media turned on them, they were more appreciated in the USA and could have gotten bigger down there had they focused more on that market alone. I think out of the sibling groups of the 80s, The Jets had a bigger run because Debarge who was massive didnt follow up their success because of motown splitting them up when they werent ready leaving a gap for 5star or the jets to fill. Also while 5 star was successful in mimicking the jackson formula while dressing in the style of what the jacksons was wearing during their victory tour era, it was over for 5star in america when Janet released Rhythm Nation which combined the new MJ/Jacksons stage style to her own with a new sound which the jacksons themselves failed to capitalize themselves because their singles werent popping which gave the ball for 5star to fulfil the audience want for a modern jacksons band but once janet came out there was no need to follow an imitation band when someone associated with the J5 was doing it better.

Love Five Star, but this isn’t one of their best.
    They had so many Bangers!
“Find the time” is my favourite by them.

I left a comment yesterday but it disappeared, this is definitely not the best song. I would recommend all fall down, rain or shine, system addict and the slightest touch 🎉

This song was way too long full stop empress😅😅 absolutely hated them, one of the cheesiest pop groups to have came out of the uk 🇬🇧 during that era, and that is saying something considering we had bananarama and bros also 😂

Way too repetitive. They must have sang that line about 50 times
