That's great that you can tell the difference right away! I stacked them up next to each other again to see if I was really blind or what.... :D And I guess I am! It depends on how the light shines on them, for a while I think it's Preciosa, then again it's Swarovski because I turn it around a bit and one is shinier than the other. Well, I'm having a hard time telling and you're good at it! Great! ❤❤❤
It's really not that hard... Look over your video, you'll see what I mean... Don't get wrong, I enjoy working with preciosa crystals as well, but I really do love the Swarovski... I live in Puerto Rico and when I'm in the sun, and that Swarovski starts shining when the sun hits it just right 🥰. Yes... Yes... Yes... 🥰 It's like having diamonds of all colors... Be safe, strong and Blessed... Happy beading.....
Yes, I could tell which was Swarovski. They have been my go-to crystals forever. They definitely have more sparkle, but yes, the Preciosa is a good alternative, and most people won't notice any difference, especially if they aren't side by side.
The Swarovski has a crispness that makes it sparkle more but the Preciosa is a decent replacement and I will be buying it. Swarovski seems to be creating an appearance of exclusivity as many luxury brands are doing in fashion. Making it less available to crafters so there’s less competition
all comments are so accurate, I would like to add that it seems coating, being transparent or some special color or shine, it seems swarovski prevents skin grease to adhere or something, believe the main reason preciosa looks less sparkly, if you noticed, is that the crystal is partially opaque by fingerprints. Which I would assume all crystals were subjected to same handle which would made both marked by fingerprints, which is not, swarovski surface remain clearer, that let facets come through
as an individual who exclusively deals with flatback rhinestones for nail art, my knowledge outside of this subsection of rhinestones is limited at best. anyway, preciosa’s glass formula is actually really beautiful it’s potentially even better than swarovskis. the problem with preciosa is the cut of their crystals. that’s where swarovski goes above and beyond and granted, it is the most expensive part of rhinestone production- the intricacy of the final cut of the glass requires very skilled artisans which raises labor costs dramatically so. but. it’s also the only thing keeping me from making a 100% switch to preciosa. BUT PRECIOSA HAS THE MEANS TO REPLACE SWAROVSKI!!! i just wish they would do so wirh either a better product or sn identical product. because a subpar product isn’t gonna generate the switch of a consistent swarovski customer to a consistent preciosa customer. i bought a huge order of preciosa from bluestreak expecting id be able to full switch over. and that order ended up just being money i lost. because i only use them for practice :/. anyway thx for comparison. fuck swarovski and hopefully someone takes their place soon. i’m rooting for the day i can stop giving them my money completely lol
YES! I picked out the Swarovski ! Yey! Their crystal is so beautiful, & I have been buying it for many many years. I started out on Swarovski crystals brcause I was completely spellbound by their beauty especially at Christmas time when my favorite department store would get in their XMAS ornaments. Aside from being more clear, sparkly, flooded with color the back of the crystals have a unique finish; they are like a flawless diamond. yes i could tell the difference but it was little bit hard at first. swaroski has more depth and looks more like glass where preciosa looks a little more like plastic and the swaroski has more of a crystal look but i think they are very close looking
I was able to tell immediately. One of the reason I love Swarovski’s are because of how sharp and fine the lines/cuts are on the stone. It reflects light better making the stones shine and sparkly significantly better; similar to a Diamond or Moissainte stone.
The Swarovski crystal is clearer. And the back of the Swarovski crystal has more of a smooth shine with sharper facets, whereas the other one appears to be more matte, and less sharp on the edges. I like this video. Thank you!
I guessed the right side but honestly the Preciosa is very beautiful and since Swarovski is no longer abundantly available, it's good to have Preciosa as a compromising substitute.
Yes I could tell straight away. The Swarovki have more depth and sparkle. You could be fooled by the Preciosa if the Swarovski wasn’t right next to it. I guess as a substitute it will have to do and at least it is available. Thanks for the video, which was great.

There's a slight blur to lesser quality crystals, as is the case with the left side. But the difference is minimal, and if I wasn't as experienced I don't think I'd recognize any difference.
