How to fix date and time problem | MacBook Pro (UPDATED 2024)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 фев 2025
- Hey guys, I will show you how to fix the date and time problem for MacBook Pro 2020 and above. Here is the updated code to use in Terminal:
sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist
After this, input your password. The date and time should not fix after this is completed (That is OK!).
Next, You want to hit RESTART on your MacBook.
Finally, when your MacBook reboots, your date and time error should be fixed.
This fixed has worked for me, and I've had no issues ever since. Be sure to like, and share this video so that others can see it (many are affected by this).
Thanks a lot !

First press command + space then type “terminal” then type in the code, you’re welcome 😊
Thanks
Thanks ridicolous that he didnt explain how to do that
Excellent, thank you for this.
As a person who somehow has no idea about computers and is always totally overwhelmed when it comes to something like this, I thank you from the bottom of my heart🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Is the password your iCloud pw
Crazy how we all got this error. Thanks for the video 👍🏻
You’re welcome! There is a bug that Apple hasn’t addressed publicly with its new update
Wow tysm! I was trying to do my school work and my google chrome and safari didn’t work because of this problem. So glad I came across this video
Did it work for you?
@@soulvibemusicyep 4 months ago it worked but now I’m back watching this video again because my laptop has this problem again
There were a few assumptions he made. Some people have no idea what Terminal is. Bring up Spotlight (command + spacebar) type Terminal. Another important factor after "sudo" hit spacebar after "rm" hit spacebar continue code as written. He did say that. It passed by kind of fast. T least for me. This did work. Thank you @mofresh for posting.
You saved me and my Mac. It worked perfectly. Thank you so much!!
You’re welcome! Grateful I could help! God Bless 🇺🇸 (Ephesians 2:4-5)
Dude... You are the man! Have had this NEW MacBook Pro for less than a month and the time/date went back 14 months and wrong time for some odd reason! This code worked perfectly. What a trip!
Yea, some new computer bug with the recent update. Glad I can help! 👏
It worked!!! I had the same issue a while ago and after doing the same thing, everything went back to normal. Thank you so much!!!
You’re welcome ! Glad I could help- God Bless 🇺🇸 (Ephesians 2:4-5)
Thanks 🙏🏾
Thank You. I had this problem after an update and this fixed the problem. It told me the directory was not found, but I still reset and the problem was fixed.
How did you reset it
It worked! First it showed "Error" but after a restart everything seemed fine. Thank you!
So glad I could help! God bless
Thank you! I had this problem since a year and filled worked. Thank you!

That's the best feeling. Glad I was able to help!
It worked. Logged back in and the date and time were still wrong. I took my eyes off of them, then, looked back to see that they were back to the correct date and time. Thanks!
Of course !! Glad I could help
Thanks for the vid brother! All fixed 👌🏾
Thanks for the video, I was going to put my iMac in for repair but you have helped me sort it out. Cheers.
Thank you!! This video really save my life 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks dude. My problem is solved
My macbook comesback to wrong date after shutting it down or restart :( what you suggest?
It happened to have this issue today. I was connected to my home wifi and i had internet to any device apart from MacBook because of that date and time corruption. I tried this code but unfortunately still didnt work to me.. I tried to log in with my mobile data and it automatically changed the date and time and now wifi also works. (Just in any case for someone with the same issue)
It finally worked thx 🔥🔥🙏🏾
Thank you so much for your help this is such a simple yet useful video and it has helped me so much I thought that I had been hacked or something because my internet wasn’t working but it was as simple a fix as this
Thanks man! First time I ever had some bs like this happen
Crazy bug Apple messed up on lol
First time I tried this nothing happened; I tried again and got the message - directory or file doesn’t exist. So I asked Apple support who gave me the same info but told me to expect no response and to restart - THEN it worked! Thanks!
Thanks
I did everything, everyone suggest
This was the only way that makes it right
Thanks again
Thanks man. It finally worked...much grateful
Worked awesome. Thank you so much!

Hey Leo! Glad I could help- God Bless 🇺🇸 (Ephesians 2:4-5
Aloha from Hawaii 🤝
It worked! Thank you so much that was very helpful
Guys you dont have to do all this. Its really easy.
Step 1 : Settings -> General -> Date & Time.
Step 2 : Disable ( Set Time and date automatically)
Step 3 : On Date and Time just correct the real date and time manually.
Because if you put it on automatically it will just set the date and time wrong.
Omg thank you God bless
🙏🏻💐
Still doesn't work for me! So frustrating.
@BallietBran can you explain what happens when you try?
Oh wow! it really worked.
Thank you so much.👍👍
You’re welcome! I’m glad it helped
You made my life easy brother, thank you so much🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks god for youre video i just did it alright i was about to send my mac to service 1 day before to go another country
Really helpful! Thank you!
So it doesn’t let me enter the password. It just shows the key and when I go to restart it says, would you like to terminate the terminal I wanna hit cancel it won’t let me restart it and when I hit terminate, it doesn’t work. If someone is reading this and knows how to fix it can you please respond ASAP because I need this fixed right now!
Hey man I figured it out. I had the same question. When you see that key symbol, you’re supposed to type your password in. It’s not going to show you those disguised dots or anything when you type it in. Once you’ve typed in your password, press enter and it’ll run the code. After that, restart your MacBook and go on settings to make sure all “automatic” settings are on in the Date & Time section. It should work then.
Yo, for some reason it doesn’t let me type my password. Like i cant see my password getting typed in the screen as i type and when i hit enter it says error
Same here does anyone have this problem or have you resolved it
same here
Yes that's true you won't see the password for security reason. Just type your password in and press enter and then restart your mac.
Even after the error shows up. Close terminal and restart. It should be fixed.
Hi MoFresh! Thanks a lot, it worked!
thanks for the video ❤️❤️
thx bro it worked. much appreciated
Good! I’m glad it helped!
THANK YOU SO MUCH DUDE
Thanks brother it worked👍
Thank you for the video🎉

God bless you man, you saved me a lot of headache!
Thanks for the video it worked 🎉
thank youuu, its FIXED !
Thank you bro ,… it is working
wow it worked! 😃 Thank you!
Can you please advise me how to fix this issue on mac air 2011 model
Thank you
Oh man, that might be out of my scope of knowledge. Does your Mac carry the terminal command? And are you using the latest OS system for your Mac?
Thanks a million for the video. Pretty shabby from apple
They’re customer service is pretty superior to other competition in my opinion
Thanks!
Great video 🎉🎉🎉
THANK YOU!!!!
Ps. Your password won’t show just type in it guys.. (it’s invisible)
Thank you it worked
Thanks a lot man
Wow..Great bro. Thanks a lot. I was struggling with this shity bug🥴
Glad this helped 👏
Bravo. Thanks a lot. It works
Excellent.. nice video. IT WORKED
Idk I did exactly as you said. There’s really nothing more to show. I tried it like 4 times. It’s the password you use to unlock your computer when it first turns on right?
@@bluebens2761 yes, it is the password you use when you log in. The only thing I can account for is if there maybe permission problems with your account.
Other than that- if you’re very careful in inputting it- it should work. Although frustrating to hear, that is what I’ve done.
I’ve also found that just manually inputting the time in your MacBook is another solution. Just be aware that when your computer powers off- the time will have to be readjusted when you turn it back on. But it does seemingly fix everything
@@bluebens2761 I’m sorry that this process has been frustrating for you. I can only imagine- but Apple was a help to me. You may want to have them walk you through it. But other than the solution in this video, and manually updating the time if it doesn’t work, then that is all I am able to offer.
@@mofresh_ It’s prob just my MacBook. It’s all good. I’ll keep looking for a solution. Mines probably too old or something
@@mofresh_ It’s all good man. It’s prob so annoying to get comments months later about this. Ita prob just that I have an old MacBook but it def doesn’t work for mine. I’m sure it works for others just not mine
@@bluebens2761 totally understandable. Sorry for my frustration, I really wanted to help you man. If you could see all my comments, I’ve done the same thing for other issues. Best of luck to you
thankyou man
Worked !
Saved me, thx.
Worked for me, people saying ( i cant see password when typing) just type your password and click enter.
macbook pro 2021 how same my clock is behind, can you share how to fix it
Hello! So I can understand your question better- did you follow the steps in this video, but you’re still receiving the same error? I’d love to help

Will this work for Mac OS X version 10.7.5 ?
It should be able to. It’s a harmless command and will not degrade any function on your computer if you try it
Will try tomorrow 👍
@@Landraper sounds good- let me know how that goes when you can
Thank you sir. We need to jump Apple lol
