- Despite nearly two decades as a band, Death Cab for Cutie have embarked on a new journey with their new album, Kintsugi, their eighth full-length. Founding member and regular producer Chris Walla announced that he was leaving the band, leading them to work with an outside producer (in this case, Rich Costey) for the first time. They seem to have weathered the storm in fine fashion, soldiering on as a trio and performing new songs for us as they return to Morning Becomes Eclectic on the release day for their new album.

wow! his vocals are the same as on the CD.
generally speaking, his vocals remain the most unaffected across all their albums. It's why their vocals speak so deeply to you, because they haven't layered a million effects over it to cover up anything

@@nc6095 Most artists even ones you wouldn't suspect use layering and auto-tune/pitch-correcting is why people are saying that. He is actually just doing it raw, so there's your answer. It really isn't common to just go for it anymore without a plethora of effects.
Jason McGerr (the drummer) is very underrated...

Dave's guitar seems to be out of tune every time they play this song live. He does fix it after hitting it a few times
