The Jaguar E-Type might be one of the most beautiful cars ever made but the Eagle speedster shows that even perfection can be improved.

+Edward Kenway I went to the same univeristy as him...thats my claim to fame haha

I don't know the actor BUT I drive a car too. :-)
"They make things in sheds that we can't make at all" - Enzo Farrari.
Ferrari*
+detaart My phone did that. No idea why. The word it changed to doesn't even exist.
Drew Layton Your phone clearly doesn't like you. If i were you, i'd tell it who's in charge.
+detaart My phone will win. It's an utter Aunt.
Drew Layton Beat it like a steak.
The most beautiful car in the world.
So said Enzo Ferarri.
Front like a E and the rear like a cobra. If money were not a problem, first i would buy.
@@a.s.h4485 Not even close
Maybe singer
@@joelbates8243 You're right. As beautiful as the E-Type is, the 33 Stradale is even more so. ;-)
I love the car, love the reviewer. Almost reminds of an old Bond!
The reviewer is the owner of of the Morgan Motor Company .
+jerry henderson I want one of those so bad
He does seem to be quite obsessed with the bonnet bulge...guess it's the car version of a budgie smuggler.
what a cool man this his dream :P
What the heck go play minecraft
This is a stroke of genius. Charles is superb.
Thankyou so much. Hope you like the next ones coming on consecutive Fridays too X
Yes! We need more of Mr. Morgan!!!
finally someone other then Jeremy Clarkson did a piece on this piece of beauty
this was absolutely brilliant
How do you improve on perfection?
you put wider tyres on it..(worked for me)
Lovely review. The British do many things well, but do car reviews the best.
Thanks a lot X
Unfortunately,we're usually not very good at building things well, time and time again to perfection that is.Hence the demise of so much British industry. The second I win the lottery,I'll be ordering this and almost certainly,it'll have quite a few things wrong with it.I suppose,I'll be slated for this oipinion, but that's youtube.
No "slates" forthcoming so far...
Hassan Eido what about the great British breakfast or afternoon tea. Losing penalty shoot outs against Germany, we pretty good at that. But yeah you could be right, we do car reviews better than anyone.
You are so sad '

Love this! More of this please!
This and a Singer - perfect two car garage
If you're single without kids, yes it is.
+Michael Charity I was thinking that same thing!
even if you have wife and kids, you can get her an RS6 when you can afford the other two ;)
+jpracingph right? if only eagle and singer would get rid of that stupid rule that you can only own one car. THEN you could own multiple cars like a normal person.
Except the premise here is that the Eagle and Singer would make the perfect garage consisting of TWO cars.
after watching charles, i feel like buying a monacle and a pocket watch. that aint bad, aint bad at all
Great review...stunning car❤️
This guy isn't English enough for me
Hahaha. MOAR ENGLISH.
SO BRITISH
prefer Terry Thomas?
You mean English!
Lt-Colonel J. Algernon Hawthorne
Holy FUCK that's Charles Morgan!!! (Head of the Morgan motor company) amazing seeing him on here!
Exquisite to drive. Not a car you get in and sit down, but rather a car you put on. A true driver's cockpit. It seems to respond to thought, the most subtle touch on the steering wheel could change your line in a corner by an inch or two, even at double the speed limit without a cry from the tires. I know this because I've driven all of the different series of E- types and raced the '69 you see in my avatar. A very sweet and timeless beauty indeed.
No traction control. No anti lock braking. Not even power steering. Just the essence of the the tires grip on the road under you and how good you are at reading that and getting the most from it.
When they released the E-type in 1961 it wasn't as revolutionary as many people think. It was the result of and incorporation of all the lessons Jaguar had learned from dominating Le Mans racing throughout the late 50's with a proven extraordinary chassis under a new, very aerodynamic body. Yes the body style has a timeless beauty that has had certain aspects copied, but no one has ever matched it's beauty.
The E-type remains to this day an icon for others to emulate.
Edit: I had an old, comprehensive shop manual for E-Types that had a section for Le Mans racing modifications. That section was very small. Only a few pages. Basically if you wanted your stock E-Type to go from 150 mph to 170 mph on the Mulsanne straight you only needed to change the rear end gearing. The other modifications illustrated were cooling hoses to front and rear disk brakes and a timing change to the distributor spark advance curve.
That's incredible in 1961 for a car that was only 265 HP.
None other than Mr Enzo himself said that the Jaguar E-Type was the most beautiful car he had ever seen. And I have to agree.
Clarkson's comment about the Speedster: ".....the most beautiful *thing* I've ever seen." pretty much sums it up.
Everyone at my school would laugh at me for liking this car so much but me want

I could probably watch Morgan review mold
You are so kind X
This guy is really good, a bit different to the usual car review blathering, very interesting to watch, reminds me a bit of Harry from Harry's Garage in the way that he speaks
It's a lovely car, but surely it can't be a "convertible" if it doesn't convert. It's open-top only, as far as I can see.
Also, is that the exhaust that's hanging so close the road? That's going to be expensive if it bottoms out.
The most beautiful car ever made? Probably
Marilyn Monroe with as makeover.
Very nice,
Should change the intro engine sound to this one
This review reminds me of Clarkson doing one on the same car about 4-5 years ago. Makes me really miss old Top Gear.
Charles Morgan's reviews are gold. Please keep them coming.
A love letter to the car. - James May
Reckon he said bulge that many times on purpose?
I didn't even know this thing existed. Finally someone fixed all the bad things about the E Type, especially the horrible stance with those skinny little tires and the WAY too narrow wheel base. Damn that's a super cool car now !!! I want one....
I'll have an Eagle E type in gunmetal & a Singer 911 in burgundy. Me sorted !
This video is so pleasing to watch. The music is perfect, no hard driving distorted guitars, music as beautiful as the car! The story telling is perfection!
Cars like these should be available to rent for a day.
Prolly available to rent somewheres...
How do you think Charles or Top Gear get them... You rent, from an owner, for considerable amounts of money.
This is what the original should a been my all time favourite was the AC Cobra but this E Type beats the lot just Brilliant in every department
Enzo Ferrari once said that the E-type was the most beautiful car in the world. He would have been glad to live to see this one.
Spitfire and E-Type, british things to be proud.
Shame they wasted the name on a Triumph Spitfire, cute car, but the am could have been better used.
I can't figure out how the Eagle is able to bear the Jag emblem. Is there tie up between this small speciailst builder & Jaguar?
It started as a jag donor so carries it's VIN plates and log book. It's not a copy but the best rebuild ever.
@@davidnelson7149 That's very similar to the process Rob Dickenson uses with his Porsche Singer. They're all restored/re-imagined/whatever Porsches that are stripped and "recreated" with an existing VIN and registration. The label goes with the package. They are both REAL expensive and really worth it if you appreciate that sort of perfection and can afford it.
Well, this was wonderful, Carfection is really becoming one of the best for Car content! Thanks very much!
My new band will be called, “bonnet bulge”.
chix dig this car...they think, "nice bulge."
What a beauty!!😘😘😍😍
It's amazing to me these boutique builder's can market a car that rips off a Jaguar XKE, or an AC Cobra, or anything, and get away with it. When Avanti Motors lauched it's new Studebaker XUV in the early 2000's GM got all huffy and sued them. This was like Goliath sueing David. And, they won of course. Avanti didn't have the deep pockets to keep fighting. Sounds like a headline right out of today's paper. So, GM was like saying they not only had a monopoly on a behemoth box on wheels, but also no one could compete with their ugly Hummer. Karmically, the Hummer didn't have long to live, and GM itself almost went under. Avanti died in 2007 during the downturn of an approaching deep recession, and fraud by it's CEO. RIP the legendary Avanti!
This just a simply wonderful video. Wonderful subject, wonderful shooting, and, of course, a wonderful presenter.
It's almost a shame that Mr. Morgan makes such great cars himself: because we're missing out on such a great TV presenter. Good work.
And, er, please send this video to Pitch Office at the BBC.
Beautiful but just saw the price of one and I nearly choked on what I was eating. Ridiculous.
Could buy yourself a fully-specced out Singer 911 and still have enough money left over for a S-Class for the money these sell for.
This will be my very first post-lottery-win purchase.
If only people this skilled at design could design cars at major manufacturers without the jackass bean counters and marketing researchers turning it into another cheap ass Dodge neon or Aztek.
I really wouldn't care if it were just a 4banger. The car is astoundingly gorgeous.
What a glorious car. I wish there were more people a companies like this, very British.
This is probably the most beautiful version of the most beautiful car ever made.
These guys got it dead on. This is the most beautiful car I've ever seen bar none! Too bad the price is astronomical. Graceful sleek, and mean looking all in one package. This thing is awesome!
Beautiful car and improvements upon the original. Morgan is a fantastic host.
How sad. Steering wheel on the wrong side of the car, and driving on the wrong side of the road.
What a great video. JC can sod off, this is how to sum up a car like this!
There is no car I would rather own.
Top gear and any other reviews and reviewers need to learn a thing or two from Charles Morgan and xcar . So beautifully written and elegant ! Just like the cars he reviews.
wow! Gorgeous automobile and fantastic presentation. I grew up in the 60's and this was, and still is, to me, the most beautiful car ever made. Looking forward to seeing one of these Eagles here in NY one of these days! I recently saw a Porsche Speedster-the very rare version, parked in front of my local bistro. I found out later it was Jerry Seinfeld's...so you never know!
Every time I look at this, it's like WOW! A car that can't be ignored and standing still-it looks like a speeding bullet-just blasting through the air! Eagle like Morgan got it dead on.
Fantastic but hellishly over priced.
As good as my C7 convertible looks, the Eagle E-type Speedster has it beat hands down. Truly a work of art on wheels.
It's rather "bulgy".....excellent review!
+1... "L-O-V-E" ... The principal of Eagle Engineering Henry Permian said it best. .. L-O-V-E .... Their work with the Jaguar E Type is perfection. .. The Eagle E Type Speedster .... Make mine finished in PAG Stone Grey metallic (LY7U) exterior coupled with a black leather interior; Black leather everywhere....
What a wonderful report!
It's so refreshing seeing a very well dressed man with a gorgeous British accent present an extra-ordinary vehicle.
More.
More!
MORE!
this is for jaguar what db5 is for aston ..... beautiful
What a wonderful review for as amazing car!!
We need someone more British! lol jk I love Mr. Morgan. His reviews are spot on.
Thanks Charles, I dig your style, sir/
Keep on trucking ! (from France)
It's sex on wheels '. For the mature male :) like me ...
A retro beauty .. A mix of Sofia Loren
And Rachel Welch
The most beautiful thing I've ever seen
Never quite fell in love with the E Type in the way I did with Italian cars from the same period but great film and a great presenter
OK being an E Type owner and trying not to be too bias, the car looks good, but a couple of 'cosmetic' issues did not appeal (maybe I am just an old fart).they are IMHO Turn signals too small, Rear haunches seem exaggerated, where the gear leaver exits into the interior is just wrong and finally the windscreen is way too short, apart from that I Love It.
Still one of the best looking cars you will see on the road.
It is a nice car, but the original has a nicer steering wheel, a real windscreen and side windows and a top. So, besides the wider track I can't see the 'improvement'. I prefer the original (series I, maybe with a ZF-box).
Charles Morgan is back, and he bring the eagles my good this is better than Christmas (because i don't celebrate it anyway)
That's lovely thanks so much
+Charles Morgan are you real charles morgan? Cause i don't believe you
what a mind blowingly cool sound!!
Morgan is just so good at presenting - how did it take this long for him to end up in front of a camera?
Good God the noise it makes :)
"At last-- something beautiful you can truly own"-- Don Draper...
What an absolutely brilliant video
This is an excellent review of an excellent car!
After all these years , the E Type , still , and it will remain in a class of its own. Thanks
Mr. Morgan,
I am an American that absolutely loves my big lumpy American V8 but I dream of the Eagle Speedster and the Aero Coupe. If I could have only 2 cars for eternity they would be mine without a doubt. What would you think about a corvette power train in the Aero line for us yanks? It would definitely be a fun thought exercise. One day I hope to tour the factory in Malvern much respect for the authenticity and passion in your art!
Great video. Content, presentation and editing. Best wishes
Fantastic, have my like! You have certainly earned it!
As a musician who saw Jimi Hendrix, I was accidentally sold a 1962 Jaguar XKE in 1971, and got right into it.
From behind, I always said it looked too much like a polliwog, so I like this rear view better.
The wider tires are nicer, but I like the hand-painted silver spokes better, and the hood bulge is too deep.
The original grill opening was vertical, and this one has some overhang, more like a catfish mouth.
Seeing the headlights covered still looks the best.
I've always admired Charles Morgan, a real credit to this country, a true candidate for a knighthood. So if, by chance, you knobheads down in Westminster read this, pull your bloody fingers out!!!!!
Excuse me? Porsche developed the Targa? No they didn't. It was a design development from Triumph of Coventry on the TR4: the Surrey top, or Targa top. NOT a Porsche idea at all. However, that detail aside, your presentation is first-rate and appear quite the dapper chappie!
Can't get enough of this car!!! Gosh!!!
Geez, Jaguar is missing out on such an opportunity.Give people what they want. Never mind the F type, bring back the "E" at a more affordable price than a £1,000.000 Eagle.
I HAVE NO OTHER WORDS IT'S BEAUTIFUL
The best looking convertible of all time would be the Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona Spyder. Not this. However, that's pretty nice :)
Bring more of Charles. His reviews are brilliant.
do they make LHD?
From Eagle site.....
Do you export your E-Types?
Yes. All our cars are period originals so import is generally straightforward. E-Types are simple to maintain too.
Can I have left or right hand drive?
Yes. We're happy to take care of it for you.
Beautiful car yes. But to say the most beautiful car ever made is a false statement. Take a look at what Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW, Alpha, Aston Martin, were building during the same time.
These old type cars had a human/animal like face. Especially kids could make images in their mind & transform the headlights into eyes, front grill into the mouth. .... .... Can today's kids do that with modern cars ?
I really like it, however, too much branding, the window and between the seats. it's kind of gaudy and lacks class, the branding....imo
I am sure i may be the only 1 or 1 of a huge minority that Never liked the E Type its looks handling or performance, the Elan on the other hand was a revelation, if i lived for ever i still believe I will never be so pleasantly surprised or shocked more like the first time i stepped into an Elan, its responses where instantaneous, the split second u turn the steering the car was turning hit the accelerator n B4 your foot hit the floor u was pushed back into your seat when it came to cornering well lets put it this way a Porsche or an E Type would be left for dead in twisting country roads n in the wet they would a gone down the first ditch my favourite cars of the Era the Elan n the truly Amazing Rover 2000TC voted for 2 years running the best sports saloon Europe n sports sedan in the US, you do Not win that against the Whole world for nothing
love from indonesia ❤️ hope someday i could see it in real life
Kendrick historian poet
The car you are looking at is modernized after thought, something that spend most of it's days in the garage and the rest at the mechanic shop. As far as performance it was no where in the class of ferrai and a old country boy from with a Ford engine and a welding torch beat them. Jaguar was just pure engineers luck, you Brits have not invented any thing since the Romans showed up and you did not have toilet then. Mate.
Brilliantly made film.
This presenter is TERRIBLE? "It's the biggest bonnet bulge!"... Really? So insightful! 🤔
Good review. But the comment that it is the best looking convertible is a bit over the top. I can think of many Ferrari convertibles that look much better. Especially like he pointed out the tyres not filling the guards. that is so ugly. I like the look of the old Astons better. I think the proportions of the Jag are wrong also. The other thing he doesn't really mention is how poorly the car handled even for its time. Then when you look at the race spec cars they don't look tough they look stupid compared to the other race cars of the same period. I think it's mainly the English that over hype their own cars and can't look at it objectively.
