I did but obviously it wasn't Ohtani lol. It was two guys who both started in the MLB. Alex White went #15 out of UNC and Lonnie Chisenhall went in the first round. Both were pitchers/infielders and GREAT HITTERS. Averaged 98+ with their fastball. Alex started for Indians and Rockies. Chisenhall played 3B for the guardians for a bunch of seasons. It's not easy hitting that kind of speed when they have great off speed and sliders. My best at bat was against a triple A pitcher from the Marlins I hit a bomb first bat of the season. Wood bat league where we were getting scouted just to find out coaches were embezzling lol. Anyways I would have loved to try to get a hit off Ohtani in high school..not now though since I'm 37 I know I wouldn't be able to keep up without practicing year round.
I mean I would because most players from high school still have a lot of growing to do and if they work hard enough you can become the most talented/one of the most talented in the world.
@@donniefaust2763No, you wouldn’t you telling me if you never saw a baseball game and someone told you that a hitting record has been broken you would see this video and think “wow this pitcher probably broke it!”! Yeah I didn’t think so

I've been following Shohei since he broke the 100 MPH pitching record in high school, which made headlines across Japan. His baseball career has unfolded like that of a comic book superhero-or perhaps even more impressively.
I imagine the key to throwing at this speed is to delay the whipping motion between the shoulder, elbow and wrist. So allow your hand and wrist to drag a split second behind the motion of your elbow and the elbow a split second behind the shoulder and then release at precisely the right moment. Like a catapult. Baseball pitchers enlighten me!
honestly if he did one he would have a hall of fame career on any side but by doing both i know it takes away 10% of his overall power level but makes him a freak in baseball world that can do everything on the offence and pitching side at the same time lol and not some avg pitcher or hitter top2 top1 in both that is the most crazy part if he was a avg pitcher it would still be unreal but him having a mvp on both sides is the crazy part that 2022 mvp should have gone to him he was unreal on pitching while hitting 35/36 hr aaron judge got it cause he broke some al record but it wasn't even close shohei was soo good that year he was robbed
Good god. Imagine you go to what you assume is just going to be another routine baseball game in high school, and all of a sudden you're contronted with essentially an MLB-level pitcher throwing 100mph just inches from your knees😬😬. No freaking thanks. And that doesn't even include crazy breaking balls that are heading straight towards your face, just to break sharply into the strike zone at the last second, with the ump yelling out "Strike!" before your body even hits the ground after collapsing to avoid getting hit.
This kid had 56HR totally in 3yrs of high sch. He's a great hitter with very good hitting sense and always has natural power since he was a little leaguer.
