I’ve gotten 26 fundraising emails from the Democrats since 10/28/18. Not a single one tells me anything about what the party stands for outside of preserving old accomplishments (SS, Medicare, Medicaid), ensuring voting access, and electing diverse candidates/veterans.

I want to know they will preserve their old accomplishmets. I think that will take some new ideas.

It was Harriet Beecher Stowe to whom Lincoln credited the start of the Civil War, not Louisa May Alcott.

Interesting idea, the political dispensation idea. I always thought of it being more specific, even generational. The silent generation had the prudence to value solidarity, the boomers did not.

It's always hard for me to watch liberal academics give themselves 'reality checks'. They react to obvious platitudes like the increasingly detached state of intellectual elitism or the cultural byproducts of forced multiculturalism with a sort of genuine surprise which further reinforces how detached they are from the average citizen. They then treat that diagnosis as a genius insight although the most average conservative thinkers have been discussing these things for decades. Also hated how much this speech was viewed through the lens of politics and the 'plight of Democrats'. Can't wait until this class of boomers are out of the public sphere.

Liberal academics wouldn't know reality if they were swimming in it. Oh wait......nope, they just don't get it.

There's a kind of translation problem between the two groups. A substantial part of the problem is, in my humble opinion, that both sides don't really listen. Instead both sides try to show how the other side is in actuality motivated by some malignant ideology like racism, marxism, sexism or radical feminism.
