So much resonance, you're not alone. Your story's different, but we've all got our own stories. They're what make us ... us. I didn't want to go out at the weekend. My head wasn't there. Forced myself out round Darwen Tower. Got piss wet through. Really nailed a niggly drop section for the first time in a while. Got cold. Came home. Spent ages washing all the shit off the bike. Sat down with a brew and noticed I'd switched my brain off for the previous three hours without realising and was now totally relaxed. Keep riding and keep putting your thoughts out there matey. We'll bump into each other one day and I'll thank you...

Thank for sharing this stu and for the appreciation of the edit and the channel. I’ve been wanting to share this for so long but was anxious (damn it 🤣) about how it would be received and that the message needed to be hopeful. You are bang on, this is the power of MTB even though sometimes it can feel like a struggle, it’s always worth it, which I suppose mirrors life in many ways! Take care buddy, keep riding, please do say hi if you see me out!

I can whole heartedly relate to your story. I went through a relationship break up and then a few years later my mum passed away. I hit rock bottom and basically, didn’t want to be here any more. I started having counselling and taught myself meditation. Then, one evening, I came across a RUclips video about MTB and thought “I’d like to try that”. Two years later, I’m still trying it lol. I love it and it has helped me become stronger mentally and physically. I would not be without my bike for all the money in the world 👍

Great to hear your story mate, I lost my Grandma about 7 years ago, and my Grandad about 11 years before my Grandma, both hit me hard, but when Grandad went I took it upon myself to look after my Grandma, did everything for her, then she when she went I’d lost my best mate’s and I think it hit me harder as they were both gone then, went through some bad times after but got through thanks to my Mrs and my Boys! Keep strong mate and carry on doing what you do, the channel is awesome and always enjoy watching your videos. 🙌🤟

I’m sorry for you’re losses Danny, I lost my dad 2 years ago and it had a huge impact on my life, but actually made me look hard at work and life balance and gave me the courage to step out of my current role and completely change paths. It made me fully realise that we only get one life and decided to go self employed and started the channel - so pretty big positive changes that came from that sadness. It’s all part of our story and what makes us who we are! Big love buddy! ❤️

Thanks for putting this out there, brave to open up so much to a big audience. I'm sure many of us can relate to your story on some level (I certainly do) and its good to hear other's experience, how you've tackled it and how MTB has been a big part of it in different ways. I've been mindful myself lately of not getting sucked into the longer, higher, faster, harder treadmill and just trying to steadily improve whilst keeping fun at the forefront, keeping grounded with mellower rides too and taking those valuable mindful moments to appreciate the scenery and peace in nature on rides. Loving the continuous improvements on the channel, drone footage and graphics really upping the quality, great job! Look forward to what's coming next for your channel and trying my hand at some YouTubing myself with your previous action cam 😉 Waiting for my first - very raw- edit to upload now!

Your story definitely resonates with me and no doubt many others.
Cycling has been a constant in my life that I can always rely on, be it a tired 10 miler or a mountainous monster, I have said for years, cycling in any form is therapy, it certainly helps to reset a stressful mind and “tune in” to your own body.
Keep up the excellent work, Andy 🙌🏻

Thanks for sharing! Really enjoyed the mix of trail review and personal story, biking is such a great tool to escape from everyday pressures and it’s served a similar important part of my personal development over the last few years too. I appreciate all the efforts you put into this edit, especially sharing your story

Hey Craig! Thank you for the support and for taking the time, not an easy watch for sure!
It sounds like we are on a similar path of exploration and discovery that ultimately has serving a community at its core. So big respect to you and your journey, I can’t wait to see how that progresses!
I’m starting to question if combining the review with the story was a good idea as it’s a monster edit but I’m hoping it stopped it being too self indulgent and hopefully drives the message that the channel is only going to get better despite the brief mindful interludes. Fingers crossed!🤞

I've been watching your vlogs for a while and hadn't realized i wasn't subscribed. so you are +1 now. i have both the mini 4 pro and the Neo most recently. great little piece of kit , if not a bit slow, but great for climbing or rolling footage. Riding has played a massive part in my mental health journey. MTB and Gravel being the staple diet. Always found it difficult on off days to get out, until i recently bought an e-bike! now i can pick a hole in the weather, head out and smash some laps and head back with a calm mind and a smile on my face! i have bags off footage from around the country, but never ever got round to putting any of it on the net. planning on investing in some new production gear, so you might see me rolling around on the ground at some point soon :) keep up the good work mate

Hey Stephen! Thanks for the sub, I had to work hard for that one 😄 thank you for getting in touch, I appreciate you taking the time.
I’m loving the Neo despite its obvious flaws, mainly because I can’t see me being bothered to lump anything larger around with me, it’s super easy to use and should provide the required alternative b-roll.
I’ll keep my eyes out for you on the ground! 😂

@@rhettetherington1351 absolutely. I was feeling that way myself a few weeks back. Reframed it as a break from riding and training etc and that small change removed the guilty feeling for me. I used to feel really weird for not riding even when I didn’t feel like it but forcing it often isn’t the answer. That said a kick up the arse is sometimes the answer too.. complex us humans 😂

Yup - I believe everyone should have that thing to escape to, whatever it maybe. As a probable over-thinker, riding has always been therapy for me in a weird way. It's a time when I can block everything out that I have going on. That then helps me re-focus and evaluate things with a clearer mind afterwards. It also feels too good when your blasting out of a quarter! ha!

Yeah clear thinking is hard when you’re overwhelmed with thought, feelings, emotions and information. Clarity of thought for me requires removal of the the noise, that’s what riding does for me, it’s meditation in motion!
