I had an openly married lesbian teacher, who had a kid, tattoos, and eventually shaved part of her head too. She was cool, honestly one of the better teachers at that school and her expressing herself didn't affect my learning at all. Sad I only had her for 2 years tbh
I have an openly gay science teacher and he will just teach us about science. The only times he talks about his husband is when he’s talking about his daily life like my hetero teachers do
I had a gay geography teacher and my class literally only knew he was gay because someone had a glimpse of his computer only to find “how to come out to parents with boyfriend” on his search history
My history teacher is a lesbian and I only know because one day her wife and their toddler picked her up from school and a straight teacher mentioned how cute it was
I have a non-binary music teacher and the only time they’ve said anything about it was at the introduction of classes so the class would use their pronouns. It also made me happy (this was the first teacher on the trans spectrum I had) and I’ve come out to them

Anyone who has an Adult Fun Time relationship should be able to 1) ask partner(s) what they like, 2) do what partner(s) say, unless it crosses a line for themselves, and 3) tell partner(s) what they would like. If folks aren't mature enough to talk about it, maybe y'all aren't ready yet. (I speak as someone who was a VERY naiive 25 year old when I got married and was very embarrassed.)
"Cant tell kids about trans people cause they'll get confused" I was so confused by everything in English class and I STILL had to learn that. however I never once struggled to be nice to people, Queer or not. kids aren't born with hate built in.
Still had to learn math even though it was confusing as hell, guess we shouldn't teach kids math bc it will confuse them. Seriously, these conservatives think teaching kids basic grammar is some wild, elaborate manipulatve tantic conjured up by "The Libs" to make young boys "soy boys who have no testosterone".
Isn't that what teaching is supposed to do? Help them understand what they're confused of? By that logic I shouldn't be taught advanced math and tons of physics cause I still am hella confused of those.
Whenever people say that teaching kids that there are more than two genders will confuse them, I think about when I was around six (and had no idea lgbt+ people even existed) and couldn't figure out some cartoon characters' genders. After some thinking, I decided that they were genderless. I didn't know anything about trans or non-binary people, but I never questioned why they seemed to be genderless. As someone who was a very dumb kid, kids will get it. It's not as complicated as people think. Edit: Ville has made a lot of nasty comments on this video, please just ignore them since they seem to be a troll. I'm angry too but it's really frustrating to see nothing but fighting in the replies.
Bro these conservatives really do think that all relationships are only about sex. If i, as a child, could understand that my parents loved each other without knowing about sex, everyone can understand that two women and two guys can love eachother without mention of sex either.
Perfectly coherent, coming from a country where about half the population worships Ronald Reagan, who told his compatriots that socialized healthcare would inevitably set the country on a slippery slope toward Soviet-style totalitarianism. I know that thought process is hard to wrap your head around for someone from, say, Western Europe, and even after living in the U.S. for over two decades, it still seems crazy to me. But here we are.

When my grandmother was a teacher, she got fired for getting pregnant. By her husband. To whom she was married. Because if the kids she taught saw that she was pregnant, they would... think of sex?? I guess??? Like teenagers have never seen a pregnant person before??? Anyways. That was fully legal in the 1960s.

The one about the Native Americans made me laugh so hard & facepalm at the same time. America was never a Christian Nation not should any religion ever control an entire country. The conservative who tweeted for them to go back to their own country clearly failed or never went through History class. America was taken from the Native Americans & then they were forced to change their traditions to "American" traditions. Many have regained their homes & traditions but not many
@@max_punch Exactly. Most Americans while born in the US are not Native to America due to our ancestors. I was absolutely *horrified* when I learned that cancer treatment was not free in other countries. I became acquainted with someone online who’s mother was diagnosed with cancer and they weren’t able to afford the treatment. That disturbed me so much. I was appalled. How can a country not provide their people with free medical treatment required to save their lives?! I just-… I struggle to wrap my head around that.
This happens a lot of illnesses. Treatments are always more profitable than curious, because when you treat people they have to keep coming back for treatment.
I remember reading Trevor Noah's biography. His mother was seriously hurt, and he as a 20ish year old had to make the decision whether to spend all their savings on a treatment that might not even work, or to keep it to use to raise his little brother. I can't even imagine the horror of being put in that situation. He took the risk and thankfully his mother got better.
@@Albinojackrussel omg that is absolutely horrifying and terrible. i'm glad the risk was worth it though and that his mother got better. truth be told, i'd probably make the same decision.

I’m not American and i get ads to join the Military….. And honestly I would join because it would help my situation and I could go to college. But hey I can’t enlist. Maybe they should start enlisting outside the us😂😂😂😂😂

I 'love' it how people keep protecting their 'Christian values', while having no real understanding what these values are, because if they DID have that understanding, they wouldn't be insulting other people, at the very least. This is why I'm not a big fan of any organized religion (which doesn't stop me from having faith) - because too much of it is about rigid rules and regulations, which at some point stop being secondary to faith, come to the forefront while actual faith and spirituality leave, and people spew hate and intolerance while believing it's in line with their religion
I totally agree. If it weren’t for my amazing grandmother and some other Christians I’ve met who truly try to walk the walk of Jesus with kindness and empathy for those around them, I would dismiss the religion altogether. My grandmother sees right-wing ideology as directly opposed to her Christian beliefs, which it IS. Jesus advocated for the poor and needy, and showed empathy and love for the people that the rest of society ignored. Radical Christian authoritarianism is a bastardization of the religion, which goes against its basic tenants, and exploits the faith and loyalty of Christians.

I find the dislike of “free” healthcare interesting. Yeah you’d be paying for others to get healthcare (what they’re stuck on I think). But you can use it too… There’s no shame in getting taken care of by the community. You don’t have to do it all on your own. They do love their Social Security though…
i think the issue is just that they value their money more than the lives and health of other people. personally i think i'd rather be poor in a society that cares about me than rich and on my own
Actually, on the topic of "paying for others to get free health care," that's actually part of the justification for why some medical procedures are so expensive - in America at least, they cannot deny necessary medical treatment to someone, even if they can't pay. Yes, they'll absolutely put that person into debt, but they cannot force that person to pay, and the hospitals want their money, so they pass the costs on to customers who can pay, especially if they have insurance. So if someone in America pays for medical care, they literally already *are* paying for others to have free medical care. In fact, if medical costs were tax-funded, most people would actually end up paying *less* for medical care.
@@meadowl it’s all about who these people think are “worthy” of help. They don’t want to help “unworthy” people. They would rather hurt themselves than help someone else.

Yeah, the military is very predatory in its recruitment ways. My high school was a school for a lot of pretty smart but poor kids, so all the kids who wanted to get a better education than the public school system but whose parents couldn't afford private school, and let's just say the military absolutely loved recruiting at my school. My brother who was a pretty smart dude but was let down by the education system ended up in the navy because he felt he wouldn't have been successful in college and didn't want to spend that much money on furthering his education. One of the biggest things the military will do is take kids who feel they have no future and gas them up saying you can have a future with us and then trap them in six-year contracts. My brother was 17 when he was being recruited and signed up as soon as he turned 18 cause my parents refused to sign something allowing him to sign up sooner he hadn't even been out of high school for a month or 18 for two months before he was shipped across the country for BootCamp. He is doing fine because he is in a really good program with good pay but my whole point is that it shouldn't be like this we shouldn't have kids who feel their only way to have a successful future is to join the military, people should be able to go to college and afford it instead of signing away the first 6 years of their adult life to the military. That's not even going into some of the conditioning they do while people are in the military or at the very least the conditioning I saw happen to my brother.
I believe that some ppl see the expression "for free" as a literal meaning, although every person in their right mind knows that everything has monetary value. The implication of "for free" usually refers to redistributing the money generated by labour, by tax for example, in this context. The problem a lot of ppl have with this idea is that "free x" thing means supporting "LaAaZy PpL". Thank you for coming to my out of nowhere TED talk, it's $80 each :)
The whole "lazy people who don't want to work" meme annoys the hell out of me. These people seem to think that having to work solely to survive is something that's actually good, when *everything* of note in society *ever* has been accomplished by people who don't have to work 100% of their waking hours and have time for leisure. You literally cannot produce anything useful if you're spending 100% of your time just making ends meet.
Ok but redistribution of labour also means its your labour. You need to work to earn your share. The ammount of work won't change in socialist society because demand would be still the same. So in total nothing would actually change. Yes I know that "the rich" wouldn't suck all the money for themselves but on the scale of whole populations that would be minimal at best. But even then expecting "da 1%" to not exist is plainly stupid. In order to coordinate large scale efforts on the scale of society we need social structure and those who are higher in the structer need higher rewards to keep being loyal to the top of the hierarchy. So there would still be "powers that be" just now they probably are the goverment and as such have unchecked power and can do as they fucking want with you. Hmm that reminds me of some communist country...
@@falcon_arkaig Authoritarian yes but not communist as goverment doesn't distrubute resources among the populace but mostly companys do. Authoritariansim isn't stritcly bad but If it goes badly it goes all the way down (Nazis, USSR, Feudalism, China, North Korea). Socialism is inherintly authoritarian as in that system its the goverment who regulates market prices and redistributes resources. I think that economy should be private with regulation from the goverment as that lets prices self regulate and gives incentives to where one should work while the state is supplying the populace with healthcare and social programs.
@@bobergamer1963 I: No. The hierarchy itself is the problem. We need a society that's structured horizontally and in a decentralized way. And it _can_ be made to work on a large scale, too. Like federations (or confederations, but, uhh, not the civil war type) of smaller communities which, being smaller, could be managed by direct democracy and send delegates to the higher (scale-wise, not hierarchy-wise) levels of the structure
You inspiring your teacher to dye her hair is so cute. When i worked retail i actually had a lot of really sweet elderly ladies who shopped at my store and a couple of times they would say “oh i wish i could dye my hair but im too old” and i would challenge that at say your never too old to do something that makes you happy and they would come back with streaks in their hair and show me and it was the best thing ever
From a conversation with someone who is against free healthcare. It's that they don't want to pay more in taxes to pay for other people's health care. It's a self-centered greedy mindset. They prioritize money over people's wellbeing.
A lot of the time it comes down to not wanting to pay for _the wrong people's_ healthcare. It's no coincidence that "the taxpayer" was invented during reconstruction; it's a race-based appeal designed to drive a wedge between working-class white people and working-class black people.
And the irony is that, at least in America, the justification for why some medical procedures are so expensive is because they cannot deny necessary medical treatment to anyone regardless if they can pay, so a lot of people get these necessary treatments for free. Even if they do put the person deeply into debt, they cannot force them to pay, and thus pass the costs on to folks who can pay, especially if they have insurance. So anyone who pays for their medical or pays for insurance is already literally paying for other people to get free treatment, and they'd likely pay less if everyone paid for healthcare through taxes.
Love it when people complain about the idea of having free access to basic needs like food, water, shelter, medicine, as if they can afford to pay for all these things without having to work 3 different jobs, as if they LIKE having to work 3 different jobs without seeing their families, friends, or the sun for days just to keep a roof over their heads.
12:21 i love how the "argument" against electric cars is that they can't recharge during a power outage because like... part of the *point* is that we're gonna run out of oil to burn someday. and gas stations can run out of gas. i guess in that situation, a fuel-burning car wouldn't be a "real car" and the electric car would.
Even funnier are people blaming the European energy crisis, born out of their dependence on an autocratic petrostate, on renewable energy. Uhhhhh what do you think it would be if they WEREN’T getting their own power from renewables!
I wish their safety ratings were better, but let's be honest... What cars are that safe anymore? Really? They all fake their safety ratings these days.
If we're talking about the U.S specifically, when it comes to the "you're saying healthcare should be free because people didn't ask for blah blah blah?" I will usually use some of their favorite things against them. Example: In the U.S' declaration of independence it says that everyone has the unalienable rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Access to healthcare is an essential need that must be met for those rights to be honored, which makes healthcare an unalienable right. Meaning, a right which cannot be denied to you without tyrany. So, how exactly is treating healthcare like a privilege for the wealthy NOT a sign of tyrany in our country? If healthcare is a right, why is it that to access it you must be wealthy to afford it or impoverished to receive financial support to access something required to live? Why does something that is supposed to be a God-given right end up leaving people with years of debt?

The beauty of that last one sounds double fold since not only was there the child p issue...she was also late to speaking at her back-the-blue (ie the cops) event because she was detained by the cops.
Regarding spanking: as a child, I was often sent to my room to "think about what [I'd] done" for having... involuntary autistic meltdowns, that despite appearances, are basically seizures. Since what I'd supposedly done wrong wasn't my doing, and indeed I was barely aware of it after the fact, rather than the intended result of reflecting on my behavior and deciding that it was morally wrong, since the alleged immorality literally was not behavior, I instead spent that time trying to figure out why I was being punished for causing no harm while whoever triggered the meltdown was free to continue abusing my with impunity. A similar situation just drove me to quit my job - because as the one person being harassed for being the one person whose behavior was affected by a disability that isn't obvious from the outside, I was technically rude, human decency, corporate policy, and federal labor law be damned. It didn't help matters that HR hung up on me when I tried to call them and the EEOC had a six month wait list for a matter with a six month statute of limitations. ... wait... there's someone who thought that, between abortion and excising cancerous tumors, cancer was the more controversial?
This take that learning about the fact that there is more that 2 gender and $3xualities will confuse kids is bs. I knew I was different even before I knew what lgbt+ was. When I was younger I thought I might like girls and guys because I found people pretty regardless of gender And then when kids around me started talking about crushes I couldn't relate. I though it was just a made up concept. I could not understand how someone would want to marry and stay with someone . It also took me an embarrassing long time to realise other ppl like to sleep with each other . I thought it was something ppl did because they had no other go if they wanted to give birth to kids. I thought I too would have to marry someone when I grew up. It was later when I was reading a book where there was a line about some characters never wanting to be in a relationship. It was a light bulb moment for me. Until then I new some ppl stayed single but never realised it was an option for me. I felt happy realizing that. But I had no clue what to call that. Kids around me wouldn't believe I never had a crush and that annoyed me. Fast forward to lock down time I stumbled across the word ace and resonated deeply with it . A while later I stumbled across the word aro and realised I was aroace and the attraction I have felt before are called aesthetic attraction and everything made so much more sense to me. And now when ppl ask me who my crush is and I use the word aroace and explain it to them they are more likely to believe (some kids are still aphobes unfortunately) . Personally for me labels help me and I wish I had know it earlier.
I identified as just weird prior to finding LGBT labels and though it can sort of, kind of be a positive thing, must be great to not initially think that way about yourself.
I love and live for the fact that the argument is always involving the children. Kids are open minded, sponges you can say, to information of how the world works. If you were told something as a child and you grow up with those beliefs, then those beliefs aren't "confusing" to you. If you raise kids to be open minded and respectful to other experiences that they might not identify with at all or they can relate to 1000% then its not "confusing" to them. Give the children they want to "protect" more flavors of how the world is cause the flavor of demonizing an identity that isnt yours tastes hella bitter and we dont stan :/

The thing about healthcare reminds me of a funny thing that happened a while back in my own country. Some politicians tried to introduce co-pay for hospital stays. It was basically just a token payment (equivalent to about 1-2 bucks a day), but it got shut down anyway, because it would disproportionately affect people who need healthcare the most - the elderly. (Pensions have had hard time keeping up with the inflation even before covid).

All the teachers I have who were "good" in a conservative point of view were miserable teachers who hated their job and kids hated them because they didn't try to even teach just the bare minimum, then that crazy teacher who said vaccines were poison and got covid. they were the reason the outbreak shut our school down in 2019, didn't get vaccinated or wore a mask that year, got sick, gave it to their kids, and it spread like wildfire and the school was shut down for spring break.. which carried into the next 2 years...

One of the basic axioms of conservative thought is that systemic change is impossible. If this axiom held true, some of their points would be reasonable, because under such a belief you see activists pushing for better systems as delusional people who need to face reality. They hear “no such thing as a free lunch” and think it means any other deal must be worse, because they have acclimated to the price they pay for the lunch they get.

@@bobergamer1963 Then America is Communist, as the government basically has all the power /hj

And it _can_ be made to work on a large scale, too. that's so fucking wholesome and i love you
From a conversation with someone who is against free healthcare.
Love it when people complain about the idea of having free access to basic needs like food, water, shelter, medicine, as if they can afford to pay for all these things without having to work 3 different jobs, as if they LIKE having to work 3 different jobs without seeing their families, friends, or the sun for days just to keep a roof over their heads.
the thing is, that's not a thing in the developed first world at all. Sincerely a 3rd worlder.

If we're talking about the U.S specifically, when it comes to the "you're saying healthcare should be free because people didn't ask for blah blah blah?" I will usually use some of their favorite things against them.
Example:
In the U.S' declaration of independence it says that everyone has the unalienable rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

I’ve had tons of teachers with tattoos and dyed hair, they were all really cool and nice, and no one paid much attention to it other than the occasional compliment. Funny how these people are making a bigger deal out of dyed hair/tattoos than the actual kids being taught 😭😭
you know whats hilarious is i did have a teacher with arm tattos, red hair and a bunch of piercings, even a tongue piercing, and she was a preschool teacher. And the most memorable preschool teacher, she was awesome and taught little me how to dance and have fun in school. And did i forget to mention, this was a french catholic school
Yeah as someone with glasses it sucks that I have to pay to be able to see.
Others have to pay to hear. Others have to pay to be able to chew. Or use their legs.
14:38 This reminded me of that episode in ‘Friends’ where Chandler asks about pleasuring women and then Monica gives him a concise tutorial on how to go about it.
I remember reading a reddit post from a guy with a micro-pp, and had a fairly successful sex-life in spite of it. To sum it up the secret to his success was exactly what was discussed here. As a lesser-endowed guy it's pretty reassuring to hear.
The way these guys talk about electric cars, you'd assume they cook with wood stoves or have gas heating/stove without an electric starter.

Always weird how cishets don't know how adjectives work
But well since they're overwhelmed my pronouns, grammar doesn't seem to be their strong suit anyway.
@Ville Pronouns are what you refer to people. For example, when we kill you for being a pedo, will we say "He" "She" or "they" was killed?
@Ville he/him, my, I, your, etc. A lot of people get offended when people "use pronouns" but it is literally part of our language. People just don't like the idea of others being allowed to choose how they're referred to
@Ville a word used in place of a noun
A few examples:
"The boy are an apple" could be rephrased as "he ate an apple" by replacing the noun with a pronoun.
@@soup5634 I think they were joking lol, if they're watching the Queer Kiwi they probably know what pronouns are.

I also actually tried explaining that people don't identify with their birth gender one time, and her reply was, "that's crazy"... She treats being gay like a stereotype too, and just runs around assuming things based on outdated junk, and can't seem to understand that not everyone is the same or that other peoples' minds AREN'T hers and work differently
Something tells me the "this is a christain nation" person flunked history
I sure wonder what that thing is.
Is it that being a Christian country would be a direct violation of our first amendment rights perhaps?

But yeah, telling them there more than just the binanry is going to break them.

ya know if you let kids on the internet and they see stuff like "Congratulations for being gay!" and "Straight people are not ok" it can affect them.
@@crankheart I: You'e taking things out of context. No one's congratulating people for _being_ gay, only for discovering it about themself and/or not being ashamed of it. My mom went to a Catholic all girls school in a rural area in the 60s, and all of her elderly nun teachers had blue hair
The beauty of that last one sounds double fold since not only was there the child p issue...she was also late to speaking at her back-the-blue (ie the cops) event because she was detained by the cops.
I would love to see the interrogation footage.

When I was younger I thought I might like girls and guys because I found people pretty regardless of gender
And then when kids around me started talking about crushes I couldn't relate.
I identified as just weird prior to finding LGBT labels and though it can sort of, kind of be a positive thing, must be great to not initially think that way about yourself.
my french teacher last year was aweome, she ran the gsa in my school and made me feel in place there when i had to be closeted for the past 3 years :)

I've said this before and I'm going to say it again. Hitting your children teaches them that it's okay to hit people when they don't do what you want.
In any other relationship, that's called abuse or bullying.

"if it is a car, it is a car"
Teachers who don't dress like they are dead inside and what conservatives want, tend to be the best teachers in the world. My fav teacher of all time wore Hawaiian shirts, his hair in a bun, and baggy pants. I had an A all year in that class, same with another teacher who had long hair and wore flip-flops to school, he was a laid-back teacher who loved to teach and did his best to get to know you on a personal level.

They're afraid of people questioning their bs, since they're already insecure, and for good reason: conservatives have zero good points.
