- today we work on installing a 12 volt power outlet in the van, to power a new compressor-based cooler! summer is here, and staying COOL is important! this will allow me to keep cooling packs for my vest, and cold drinks on hand whilst out running around!

Great video, its always fun to virtual hangout. Always splurge on the creature comforts like this, especially if you have disability issues. It pays off in spades and makes life so much better. That saying it it better to have and not need it, definately does not compare with needing something, buying something because you know you are going to need it, and using it to solve the exact problem you know you are going to have.
its an interesting shift in thought process.. everyone's always like 'happiness isnt your possessions" BUT being disabled its kinda the opposite - ya kinda HAVE to have specific equipment!
Forget the merit plugs they vibrate loose , Anderson plugs are the way to go. Get yourself another battery for fridge and either use a dc to dc charger or a voltage sensitive relay. Been a Aussie i have been running a fridge in my vehicle for over 20 years. My current setup is a dc to dc charger a 140ah agm battery and a 1000w inverter. I can charge my chair at 20a off the inverter fridge at 12v and never worry about starting battery been flat . I don't like using lithium batteries because of vibration when i do hundreds of miles on bad to omg dirt roads . Keeping it simple is the key
great minds run in the same rut!! that is actually the way i want to set it up! just got the DC/DC charge controller delivered today.. extra isolated battery (except for charging) so fridge can keep going and not effect the starting batteries! nice thing with this one, is we can cut out the 120/240v AC middleman!
this video was just a way to get it going RIGHT NOW - improvements are always for later ;^)
@@TotallyNormal- old but not dead chair batteries work great for a aux battery anything over 75ah works fine .
