As a child we went to the Show most years, it was even a school excursion destination. I’ve taken my children when they were young but now grown up. It’s been a long time… so you’ve inspired to go again, this time will be just my wife and me, with no kids.
You guys just so happened to pick the hottest days we've had this year so far, I felt so sorry for those big dogs each with their own little cooling fans.
Charlie looks extra pretty with her soft curls and floral summer dress! 💜 This brings back nostalgia for me. I've never been to the Melbourne show but I have been to the Brisbane (Ekka) and Royal Easter show (Sydney) many times growing up and as an adult. They're all quite similar. Though it's been 10 years since I've been to any of the shows. In Qld, Brisbane gets a public holiday off school/work to go. "Peoples Day " I think it's called. Showbag pavillion was my favourite place as a kid. And also these strawberry sundae ice cream cones. I can't explain but they were iconic at the Brisbane show. We always had them growing up. I think they're still around. I'm not into alcohol but the Easter show had the Woolies pavillion and I loved going there for all the free produce and snack samples. I assume they still do.
I went to the Royal Melbourne Show first time since I was quite young. Not bad, but never have been into the animals that much; I gave all the rides a miss and skipped all the showbags. My favourite was the pavilion where the judged all the baking, woodworking, fancy hats etc. Remember seeing the panda on the swing cake that looks amazing; and there was a fancy hat in the corner of the room that had a ship on top of it. It reminded me of the HMS Victory in Portsmith; but it also has a flower on it so it's not meant for me lol..!! 🤣 Damn! I didn't see the motorbike jumping.
Enjoyed your Melbourne show video. Sounds like you both are becoming regular visitors of Oz. I watch & enjoy all your videos. Greetings from Melbourne.
Welcome back to Melbourne 😊 The sun is pretty intense at this time of year, even if the temperatures aren't always warm, so whack on a hat when you're outside!
Last time you went to a show in Aust you tried 38 special vodka and apple pie liquor and recommended it. Now every daughters birthday thats what she wants. Loves it very smooth.I also brought 2 hoodies and funny enough I am wearing mine as I watching your video.
Good to see the Italian Greyhounds even if it was only for a nano second. I think the Show was better than last year. Glad you enjoyed it, I enjoyed watching.
The chicken and chips Charlie ate is actually from a specific restaurant in Melbourne called Mr Miyagi on Chapel St in Windsor ! Just in case you were interested :) they do great Japanese food - hope you are enjoying my home town again :)
Welcome back Rob & Charlie. Great to see things that I've been going to since a child & now take my wife & 8 yr old daughter to. I do think it was better in my day, as it was alot bigger & heaps more animals. Maybe it's a changing environment with the small companies (maybe not farm related) selling their wares & heaps of rides. How do our shows compare to something similar in the UK? I wished there were more Rum makers at the show as I'm not a Gin or Vodka drinker. We'll definitely have to make you both Australian citizens soon. Have a safe trip home.
Not been to the show in decades since a past girlfriend dragged me along there. I cannot believe you wasted a trip to Victoria to see this a second year in a row. Nuts!!! lol I cannot think of a reason I'd want to see the Royal Show again. It was kind of fun as a primary school kid on a school excursion back in the 80s but lost it's appeal long ago.
Jack Russell's are my favourite dogs too. One of my cousins just got one, a pup. Cutest thing EVER..Stumbling out?...I'm surprised Charlie didn't have to carry you out. Nice volg ☺☺
Done that, had a Dyson rep come to a house I used to live in with a bunch of friends, dogs, cats, and a sandy backyard, in one square metre of carpet in the lounge they pulled near 2L by volume, of sand out, got the whole lounge room done, but in the end said sorry, we can't afford $7000 for a vacuum cleaner.
I went to the show a few years back, such a disappointment from when I used to go as a child when there were three or more showbag halls instead of just one and the grounds extended all the way to the tunnel under the train line, at least doubling the size of the show. The chairlift is gone and most of the rides and side games too. They now film MasterChef in one of the showbag halls. There are far less animals then there once was and the food hall that I used to sit down and search through all the bags I got with my dad after walking all day in the hot sun is no more either. They have completely ruined the show to save money, kids are just lucky today that they don’t know what they are missing and how much better it once was back in the late 80’s and 90’s.
You could always enter you white silky with the bung leg in a para show. I once met a Polish soccer player in a bar in the 70s. I learnt from him that Polish vodkas are heaps better then Russian ones. 😋 A good vlog... very polished.
Nice video of the show. Loved the timing of the shot with the motorcycle over your shoulder. I’m sure you were chuffed when you nailed it, and only one take 🤔
I went to the show this year for the first time in 30+ years. I'm now good for another 30 or so😂 Wasn't bad tbh but not something I see me doing often!
They start off looking at products and getting hair done. End up at the alcohol hall doing three shots per stall. Hehe Next time do the royal Easter show in Sydney.
Wow, that place is MASSIVE…… Loved the doggies 🐶🐶 And loved the vodka 🍸 the Unicorn ones looked special (esp. the salted caramel) I am with you on gin though Rob 🤢🤮 The motorbike guys were amazing 🤩
next time tell us. I live basically next door. 10 min walk. You have to live with three cats though. If into Aircraft Avalon Airshow... I might be able to get you a day pass... That Might being the keyword. I get an Industry Pass... so I normally do have invites for the Industry days.
Loved the crest paperwork - good buy!

Looks like you need to go to one in 2024!

Those dudes on the motor bikes, just wow 😳. Glad you had good weather for it and went home with some bags of goodies 😊✨️✨️
Yea it was crazy!
Hair looks lovely Charlie.
First of all welcome back to Oz you guys! Lovely to see you again! It’s like scaffolding for kids! 😂 good one Charlie!!

Cool video, thanks for taking me to the Melbourne Show :D

Haha let's just say I was very happy to see Mobious were back there! Bloody delicious! I'm glad my recommendation was appreciated!

Show looked fantastic and u had great weather! Nice.

-Josh from Unicorn Elixir
Cheers Josh! I wish you all success with the business. Awesome drinks!
If you have to go to a Royal show you go to where it originated, Sydney.
Not generally a person who focuses on appearances, but Charlie you look so lovely, very summer Aussie in that gorgeous floral dress.
She always looks beautiful 😁
@@CharlieandRob Awww, so true. An absolute English rose. It’s the seamless transition to Aussie summer beauty I was impressed by.

I think we have a lot similar. We get village shows, quite a lot of travelling circuses and fair grounds etc.

The day somebody invents perfume that smells like a cattle truck I'll be in heaven.
That Unicorn alcohol looks pretty good.. and all that food to try... I'd be unable to walk out of there. 😜
Yea it was a great, fun taste

the motorcross that be in centre ring
Any more tasting and Rob would be "space certified", lol.

no its not St Bernerd its St Bernard, hence the A and not E !

I was there with the kids on the Saturday

you should try the Sydney Royal Easter Show, in a purpose-built location next to the Olympic Stadium at Homebush. They put on a great event
lol same story here..
They start off looking at products and getting hair done.
End up at the alcohol hall doing three shots per stall. Hehe
Next time do the royal Easter show in Sydney.
If it helps, Charlie consumed no alcohol.
If you stayed another month you could have gone next door to the Melbourne cup at Flemington
Next time you come to Melbourne you need to go to Grazeland
Those family crest things things are more often than not a bunch of BS, to get a correct crest and family name origin a genealogists is needed
To be fair, the name origin is actually pretty accurate as I've have looked into it before ☺️. But really it's just something fun to put on the wall.

The more drinks you tried the better they tasted.

Well we're back in England now 😁 thank you though.
No woodchop?? Next year!!!!
We didn't see it last year either!
Just watched your Melbourne Show Vlog....😂😂😂
Don't like Gin Ayyy?? Mate, you had about 10 shots and could still talk.... Well done....Great Effort
Haha
Why is it so fashionable to bag out Canberra?
Because as I said, we had a Magpie incident, which gives bad memories for Charlie and hilarious for me
Did you buy any of the alcohol or just sample the freebies Rob? 😂
All about the freebies! No weight left in suitcase. By they were all very tasty...and alcoholic! 🤣
