Lots of military officers in NK have kids in their 60s and 70s so its likely that many had their fathers and grandfathers fight side by side in the separation war.

To the people saying they hope she changes the country for the better, don’t let her innocent face fool you. Kids are heavily influenced by the things and people around them and considering how sheltered she is, I highly doubt she considers her father as anything less than a hero figure. Normally in communism one ruler rules for a very very very long period similar to a dictatorship and then when they die they get replaced by someone they might know in the same party but it's someone of absolutely no relation to them and the cycle continues in that way ....some communist nations have semi democracy where they can vote for their ruler based on the single party that rules but there's only one party and everyone must conform to that party or you get a situation like China a complete totalitarian communist regime where the leaders of the party are dictators in large numbers maybe a council of 10 or 20 leaders and they vote amongst each other who should be the next leader of the nation and only they have the power to replace each other and usually the leader chosen is also in the position of power for years and years usually until their death
.then of course you get dictatorships which could either be through the monarchy or military coup or even a democratically elected president who refuses to step down ....but the key word for dictator is that usually you don't get generational rule it's usually one person who rules and then when they die are usurped or assassinated their replacement is usually a general or a person not related to them in anyway

Its so strange to think of her as the daughter of someone who may be the second most hated person on the planet. To see that Kim shows her his best side without even seeming to try, and that this is all shes ever known him to be. I assume that despite how abhorrent they are as people, the leaders of North Korea must have been some of the best parents. Of course, theres no telling what happens behind closed doors, but Kim just seems so happy to be with Ju Ae, and she seems to adore him so genuinely, that you could almost forget how hes a terrible, iron fisted dictator.
Being a good parent doesn't me someone is a good person and being a good person doesn't mean someone is a good parent.

I agree, I honestly think she would’ve pushed the peninsula towards war or at least got the country into deeper trouble. Un seems more stable, not as emotionally driven. Hopefully that means his daughter will be the same way.
