Actually what separates the Koreas are the influences from superpowers. South Korea got United States.. North Korea got Soviet Union. And you can see the difference. I wonder why you didn’t bring this up?
Exactly. Then he goes to say "It's not communism vs capitalism or democracy vs dictatorship, it's the leader" Yeah, when your leader has completely and total control with no accountability (i.e. a Communist dictatorship) your leader has a massive impact on your life. In a democratic society, at least the representatives do not have unquestionable control over everything. They're held to the same laws as everyone else, generally and the people elect representatives to have their will be heard by their elected officials and their lives are impacted relatively minimally by their elected officials. North Korea and South Korea are perfect examples of communism versus capitalism. Authoritarianism never works out well for the people that aren't in control.
In the early start of the two nations' existence, they were both ruled by dictators, but that mostly changed after the late 80's by the S. Korea's democratization movement (but as said, that cannot be an easy answer, it's about the leaders and politicians that can make a difference). Appreciative to know they have the same upbringings and culture, but saddened by the fact that still remains a issue (after first coming to know about the two Koreas years and years ago), people on the North are still starving throughout because they couldn't produce their own food, or were not provided enough, in comparison to a few homeless ppl in the South (Poverty rate's a night & day, though they still do exist), and they had starkly different futures and quality of life (they tried to enjoy the best as they could). Even if a unified Korea may not happen at the earliest due to the current circumstances, I do support the seeds of what'd it'd become a sign of unity, and maybe they will finally see real progress for the North to find labor and get wages they deserve.

I feel bad about the people in North Korea.💔
Its about the leaders.... If there is leader who take care of his people it's confirmed the country will grow in development ❤

I was born in South Korea 🇰🇷 it is safe and amazing kids love it there. There are lots of places to play more than America. The story starts now. South and North used to be 1 country but then they started fighting. So they drew a red line in the middle. North Korea separates from South Korea and China. There is 999.999.999999. Million chances you will ever escape. That is the story. Hope you enjoyed ❤
The Koreas never spit themselves that was forced upon them by the United States and Soviet Union
South Korea team❤
