- This is the man in the iron lung. For 71 years he has lived in this metal box because it keeps him alive. But despite this - he has done incredible things with his life. This is the inspiring true story of Paul Richard Alexander.

Now that I got to know about him, I will play this video everytime I feel it impossible to face any difficulty and get inspiration from him. He has been recognized by Guinness World Record as the longest patient with iron-lung. We fall back facing little problems in our life but this man lived 70 years all by his mouth and most importantly not in despondency but with sheer will power achieving everything he wanted. He was living miracle ✨

I remember seeing a story about him a few years back.
Paul is amazing for never giving up.
I also massively appreciate the effort he went to of telling people about his story often, especially around the time where a lot of people are / were antivax and trying to make others stop getting vaccines, because that is what can bring polio and other almost rotted out diseases back.
A living Legend, he deserves all happiness that comes to him.

I have read about Paul before and seen him in educational programs. I worked as a nurse for 42 years and only had one iron lung patient. When he passed away his iron lung parts were donated to Paul as he was the last person to be in an iron lung. By that time parts had stopped being made many years before and were extremely difficult to find. I know Paul had a person who worked on his iron lung all the time and somehow managed to keep it working all those years.
Paul has a lovely soul and an outstanding story I'm very happy that he conquered polio until you still conquering life, God bless him ❤❤

Only when you are immobile you realize what a gift it is to be able to just wake up in the morning and be able to even take one step. The sheer willingness of this guy to want to live, to want to be something in the face of such extreme adversity is beyond comprehension. He is worthy of history books and every accolade possible.
