    Finally I inderstand how to use leg drive properly, I've just been using it to "bump" the bar off my chest and only flare when I'm past the low sticking point!
    Thanks for this! Good timing too, heavy bench day tomorrow 👌

    I needed to see this! I saw it when it first fame out but i now I understand more. I hate using leg drive on high rep sets trying to stay tight. The whole point of high rep sets for me is gains and it makes so much sense not using leg drive to activate more chest and shoulders. I gotta try that

    Gonna have to disagree with Dan on the warmup advice. For most people I've seen, being lax with form or grip on lighter weights will become a habit and transfer to heavy loads. I say treat light weights as if they're heavy, then when you get to heavier weights your form will hold up better. Other than that. Solid vid

    Y’all should do a video on when to use a belt. The pros and cons and the different types from basic velcro to belts to the latch looking one. Maybe also the thickness and how tight you should wear it/ where not to high and not to low.

    im hella confused after watching this, should'nt you train ur bench with the same form u use at a comp setting? if you hold the bar loose u loose tightness and the rest of the body as well and in greater risk of hurting ur wrist does dan green actualy does this in his training to that extand?

    What the heck does he do for his forearms? Enlighten me

    • @EthanBird
      @EthanBird 5 лет назад +2

      In one of his old videos, he just said that doing a lot of dumbbell pressing with heavy weight has really helped his forearm development. Also, I almost never see him using straps for his back training and his deadlift training, so that could definitely play a role in his forearm growth too.

    • @sheldoncooper8199

      You should NEVER used grip straps NEVER that weakens your grip over the years. Also close grip Bench Pressing develops your Forearm and Triceps

    Brian alsruhe emphasizes mimicing max power lifts in warm up under the theory that the way you lift in warm up determines how youll lift in working sets. This seems to be the opposite of what Dan is saying. Can someone clarify for me?

    • @Galuche1L1U
      @Galuche1L1U 5 лет назад +1

      Try both, keep the one that works best for you.

    • @jakechristensen5935
      @jakechristensen5935 5 лет назад

      I personally think that Brian's rule of thumb works in a lot of lifts, and even understand the theory in bench, but also recognize the wisdom in what Dan is saying. I personally do both, depending on my mood. I think there is benefit in both mindsets.
