- We were lucky enough to have Dan Green come hang out with us for the day at Hybrid HQ in Miami, Florida! We picked his brain and got some tips and technique points for the Bench Press!
Hope you guys enjoy!
Wanting to build a bigger bench? Hybrid Performance Method Push-Only Program is available online!
What’s up my babies? Yes this is an older video but such a great one. See you next week xo
1 week is older? I really like your babies catchphrase.
When do babies become daddies
Amazing how patient Dan is with these two gentlemen.
Dan Green is the MAN!!! Best bench cues and great explanation for leg drive.
12:10 The texting in the background while dangling on the machine is CLASSIC!!! Nicely done!
I literally watched this and then the next morning turned my 4RM into a 7RM... Ha. Dan Green is the man. Thanks for this. And all this channel does. U guys n gals are badasses.
Finally I inderstand how to use leg drive properly, I've just been using it to "bump" the bar off my chest and only flare when I'm past the low sticking point!
Thanks for this! Good timing too, heavy bench day tomorrow 👌
I needed to see this! I saw it when it first fame out but i now I understand more. I hate using leg drive on high rep sets trying to stay tight. The whole point of high rep sets for me is gains and it makes so much sense not using leg drive to activate more chest and shoulders. I gotta try that
I am simple man I see Dan Green, i press like :D
This is interesting and helpful because my form on my bench is the worst of the powerlifting movements.
I’ve only recently subscribed but this channel is so sick, great insight. So many beasts on this channel. Keep e, coming 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Gonna have to disagree with Dan on the warmup advice. For most people I've seen, being lax with form or grip on lighter weights will become a habit and transfer to heavy loads. I say treat light weights as if they're heavy, then when you get to heavier weights your form will hold up better. Other than that. Solid vid
Honestly, this channel is about to be the best one around!
weird seeing alex taking things so seriously haha, i like it
Hayden didn't call us his babies? Unsubbed
Dan Green is the man no doubt about it
Old but good video.
Damn its true about touching too low my shoulder felt pain. I need to go higher
As far as I know lifting head up is the compensation due to lack of shoulder internal rotation.
Y’all should do a video on when to use a belt. The pros and cons and the different types from basic velcro to belts to the latch looking one. Maybe also the thickness and how tight you should wear it/ where not to high and not to low.
Thats been overdone IMO
He looks like a powerlifting hellboy with those forearms
I thought the chainsaw at the very start was part of the intro music
Honestly stefi I think you should rename this channel to an official hybrid method youtube channel to promote your gym but still make fun type videos. Just my 2 cents as I have no idea how to run a youtube channel lol
Next video with McGregor??
Nice!
sick intro 🔥💪
Should show us?
Did a shark try to bite his arm off and fail or something?
perhaps he found himself in some unfortunate situation where he was forced to pull vigilante and got stabbed in the process
im hella confused after watching this, should'nt you train ur bench with the same form u use at a comp setting? if you hold the bar loose u loose tightness and the rest of the body as well and in greater risk of hurting ur wrist does dan green actualy does this in his training to that extand?
awesome content as always! miss the mah babies tho!
How is it possible for a personwho weighs 154 bench press 450pnds?
But can i do leg drive when squatting?
You have to use chest drive there.
What's up with Dan's left forearm?
you know he unknowingly tore his bicep and kept working out with it for months. he got surgery this past year
He tore his bicep when pulling 900 in the animal cage last year or so. This Video is a reupload
What's up my cavies!?
1000th like 😯
Bench is good and all . .but I'm here for your squat tips😂
I'm a interpreter from China,I want to translate your video into Chinese, and upload your video on BiliBili a Chinese video website ,I would like your permission.
No Stefi in this video?😣😣😣
It's older video
1:25
@ ~1:28, isn't that Steffi sitting off in the background?
11:34 Like for Dan's evil laugh. Dislike for Larry Wheels' evil laugh.
What’s going on with his elbow and elbow pit? Looks like surgery... torn muscle?
What the heck does he do for his forearms? Enlighten me
In one of his old videos, he just said that doing a lot of dumbbell pressing with heavy weight has really helped his forearm development. Also, I almost never see him using straps for his back training and his deadlift training, so that could definitely play a role in his forearm growth too.
@@EthanBird
You should NEVER used grip straps NEVER that weakens your grip over the years. Also close grip Bench Pressing develops your Forearm and Triceps
Sheldon Cooper81 I agree you should avoid wearing them mostly, but there is a time for them
@@EthanBird
Yeah maybe when you Deadlift beyond your own Bodyweight
hmm when i press lower i use chest and when i press higher i use shoulder more?
Need to use more lats and serratus to keep the scapula down
also maybe use a tennis ball for upper back stretching for good mobility
stefi cohen is the best looking powerlifter in the game
You should see Blaine Sumner.
@@grizzlymanverneteil4443 ah well not quite my preferred gender though
@@DeeZv1 that's sexist though. Who knows what he identifies as?
No
Dan's forearms are thicc
Is dan natty?
Is Dan stoned?
💪👍
Brian alsruhe emphasizes mimicing max power lifts in warm up under the theory that the way you lift in warm up determines how youll lift in working sets. This seems to be the opposite of what Dan is saying. Can someone clarify for me?
Try both, keep the one that works best for you.
I personally think that Brian's rule of thumb works in a lot of lifts, and even understand the theory in bench, but also recognize the wisdom in what Dan is saying. I personally do both, depending on my mood. I think there is benefit in both mindsets.
Dans always injured
Dan looks like Kratos
The Leg drive only gives you 10 % more Power You dont lose any Gains with it AT ALL. If You Really want a bigger Chest do Dumbbell Bench Presses.
Just my opinion but this shouldn’t be in the Stefi Cohen channel if she isn’t in it
It’s really Hybrid’s channel.
Good info but get to benching already.
I wish yall woulda stfu and just let him go over it how he does
