    Great tips actually.
    Maybe crazy , but I do seated cable row with wide grip (width that I use on bench press) and I think that helped with my starting position and barbell stability.🙄

      @DanTheAtlantean 5 лет назад +3

      I do the same. It helps strengthen the rear delts and upper lats which help with stability on the bench press.

  • @Neofolis

    I find the floor press to be the best option for helping with the sticking point in the middle. It's basically doing the same thing as the board press without the need for the board. It's not quite as flexible as the board press, where you can vary the height based on the thickness of the board, but I find it's easier when you are training alone. Floor press may not suit people who are barrel chested and have short arms, as they will often find the bar rests on the chest rather than being slightly elevated.

    For those without spotters!! There is a psychological dimension to failing a lift. The bench press is notorious in that many fear being stuck with a heavy bar on their chest!! Much of it is performance related as well, to be stuck with a weight on your chest and having to call for help is very humiliating, and fear really depletes your strength in a major way, which is why many lifters work up anger by cussing and throwing plates around, slapping them on the bar!! It’s their way to supplant the fear with aggression to boost their confidence and strength!!

    my pr on the BP was done using close grip. i also feel much weaker in BP when using a wider grip. is it possible that my wide grip is weak because i have weak chest muscles and rely too much on my triceps?

    • @SurvivalGames1
      @SurvivalGames1 5 лет назад

      same for me...my close grip bench is almost the same strength than my regular bench...i also think that my chest is weak because of it because my incline bench is just 50% of my regular bench

      Fuel and rest.
      My mate is getting on so well at his bench, he has his diet his sleep & rest days dailed in.
      I on the other hand train when I want, eat OK but not great, & I try to sleep as best I can. Not getting the same results as my mate is, I need to up my game.
