this video popped up on me and I am glad it did its almost a year old and I never seen it love your channel you have so much great info!! and great rigs thank you for the entertainment and sharing your builds with everyone!!
I agree with Nick Silvernail, I would really love to have your jeep, set up just like way you have it there,I hope to see one of your jeep's in my collection this year, can't wait to get the axle housings on one of my builds, awesome jeep, great vid
Awesome rig review. Those axles are definitely something I wanna get my hands on. They look great. Same with the two speed transfer case. Keep up the exellent work GCM.
Thanks! That's right, this is the axle set that Joe has actually seen and held... We hope to finish the testing and proof that they will make it to market, and have some available mid year.
Absolutely sweet rig! I've wanted to do one of these HK hard bodies for awhile.... but I'm kinda poor, and the secret is definitely out on these once $15-20 bodies. 😕 I've seen them lately for $45 and UP! That chassis is awesome. I got lots of ideas from that! And those rear cantilever shocks - pure awesomeness! On my "someday list".
Also for a super easy ESC that has more adjustable functions than I've ever seen 28 steps stuff like drag break percentage start up voltage, maximum voltage, revers options, timing ETC. And u buy a seperate field programmer where ya can plug in and change everything right there it's the duratrax DE10. Even though it's only good for 2s on a crawler I noticed no heat at all and tried 3s and have had no problems and still no heat and this is with a sensored 10.5T duratrax DTX brushless motor. It's just such a smooth setup. Even with the 2s plenty of power and speed. 3s is crazy fast.
Awesome and thanks for showing under he body, i understand it can't be easily done on some other RC's so just do it when you can really, it's just a bonus in my book :-)
Chris...love the tech in this video! I have a J2 and I've got other projects on the table taking priority, but I'd love to see how the J2 could be mated up to a newbright JK. I have the China Jeep body, but it's just not doing it for me. I build custom rigs, and can probably figure it out in time, but if you have a quick solution...post up a video. There are plenty of guys with JKs that would probably jump on the process and pick up a new chassis. Greg
+Dustin Farnum These bodies are actually plastic moulds in color, and PAINT on TOP of the plastic in the very same color. That's why they look so good. It also means they repaint really well because there's already paint on the body.
That chassis is SAHWEET! I have a couple of questions.... Will a Tamiya CC-01 body fit the wheelbase? Do you have another 2-speed TC in the works yet? I have the opportunity to get a 2700KV, 4-pole brushless motor... SHOULD I?? And, any plans to get a stockpile of those JK bodies from China for sale here?? 😲 *The SECRET is out* on those - and we can't find one for less than $55-70USD! 😠😠😯 I have more, but can't think of them!! Murph
Thanks for answering my questions cris your awesome man. Hey I'm dying to know what material your axles are going to be. I heard they was some kind of composit material but just don't seem right I'm thinking aluminum or steel. I'm a full time CNC operator I run both lathes and some awesome makino CNC machines that do about everything. Just watching these machines switch tools is amazing so so fast. I wish they would let me design and run some custom Rc products. It would be heaven. Let me know what these new housings are made of.
The housings you see here are made on a serious 3d industrial print machine using nylon. It's a great material for detail and still strength. It's not brittle, but is soft enough to wear on the rocks. I find I'm touching up the paint on them often, but they slide nice! So far no effectual wearing or breakage.
Hey Chris luv that JEEP ! Man those new GCM axle housings WOW ! What Amperage can your master power switch handle? I have added a single pole master power switch rated at 12v 20amp to my mostly stock scx10 with a 55 turn crawler motor, and stock Axial AE-2 ESC. It's the most heavy duty switch I could find. Do you think this switch is adequate?
When I've used a wattmeter on the crawlers and scalers, it's rare to EVER see a truck hit 20 amps. Rare. Your switch will be fine, although the higher the contact rating the better. A better test than the 'rating' is to run the truck hard with the switch, and then bypass the switch and run the same stuff right away again. If you see the truck having more 'go juice' than with the switch, then you are getting heavy losses through the switch and better upgrade!
Absolutely amazing workmanship in there. But after seeing the prices of a few upgrades i almost had a heart attack ($1000). Still pretty amazing though. If i have cash ill pretty sure to get all upgrades.
Also looks like your first run on the front axles broke. I'm guessing your going to beef them up more. I'm talking about the inner axles in the front with that offset the stock inners won't work of course. As for the housings hell yea if just so hope there not anything like the vanguish prices.
It wasn't the first run, but I have broken 2 inner steel axles. I think it's an overpowered thing, as I happen to have too much brushless power in there. That and the shafts seem to be too weak. That's the hurdle I'm trying to get over with these, because we have to send shafts with the housing.
hi i am in the process of building my jk skeleton, but i am kinda struggling with the battery setup. i like the way you mounted them underneath the body and since i am using the front clip and hinch system, i would like to know how you made the lipo holders? (material, dimensions etc) could you please help me out>
So, my favorite thing is the side sliders now. The hinge stuff is great, then you can open it up and there's the battery laying there. I use batteries that fit under the front seat 'bump' so there's more height there. In one case, I used a longer battery and heated up the floor just behind the driver's seat and rolled it up a couple mm to make more height between that and the slider shelf. IN any case, try the helios-rc 3s 850mah battery, perfect for these scale trucks, really low price, and around an hour of trail time each. Or double up for one on each side. Very nice little batteries.
@@GCMRacing1 tnx for the info, I printed the sliders ( from the patriot page) but they came out kinda wide, probaly did something wrong, but i’ll take a look at it again 👍🏻
So How much is the complete package? Including chassis, suspension components, differentials axles, also including jk body? Or that's only the chassis components you sell with this package?
Hi, we build custom trucks as requested at gcmracing.ca and you can make a custom order there if you wish. Many of these items are also in the store at gcmracing.ca for you to assemble yourself
hi! I have a few questions: 1. is it possible to build the chassis from mst bridges cfx/cfx-w; 2. is it possible to install a two-stage transmission rc4wd ax2? thank you!
Hey I'm going to want these axles. What material are they. Aluminum or steel or plastic or what. And my main question is on my scx10 I use the axial aluminum 3 link setup front and rear. Will these axles work with the stock linkages?? I'm thinking surely ya made the rear a direct bolt on but with the offset pumpkin up front not sure if my stock 3 link which I love will work.
These axles may be scx wide, but they aren't "FOR" the scx. They are custom designed housings for custom builders, and for GCM rigs we build. They will need custom links all around, and although the stock lowers may be able to work, the uppers will be completely new. We didn't design these to fit the scx trucks or geometry, we designed them to work, to work well, have good geometry, and be used for custom truck builds.
So I'm having problems with my build where the truck struggles over certain things as if gearing is wrong or theirs not enough power I am running a 35t motor with 57/13 gearing metal spur and upgraded trans gears. I tried redoing the pinion to spur mesh and even making the truck somewhat lighter. I'm at a standstill
RcHobbySteve Some common lack of power issues: 1) still using white Tamiya style battery plugs. bad. 2) motor is worn out, brushes shot, or magnets overheated. bad. 3) Lipo or nickel batteries shot, over life, aged, or low capacity. bad. 4) ESC or radio set to not enough endpoint for full throttle. I can't stress enough the importance of clean well connected electrical connections, that's been the cause of many RC headache.
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada is it possible to email me so later I can email you a picture of my setup ( rchobbysteve@yahoo.com ) I'm using a 2s 5200 mah lipo ae5 esc Trx connectors and an axial motor that has only been used about 3 times for simple trailing so it barely has any wear to it. I do plan on going brushless with a roc412 motor but don't want to if I can fix my problem first. All my other trucks drive smooth but this one haha
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada Okay cool I'll definitely do that and I'll make sure I add some pictures to the email too. Thanks for an awesome product btw you did a good job on the design and toughness of the chassis. 🤙🏽
We will do custom full builds, yes. The cost will vary by equipment etc. Expect a full RTR with battery truck to get you an almost 2k pricetag though. Start adding up the equipment in rigs around your local clubs! Many are more than that!
GCMRacing1 yea i'm doing a custom rig rite now and it's adding up quick. check out my channel if you want. I did an unboxing of all the gear i'm putting in it. i'm saving the best for last tho just wait n see you'll enjoy.
man I gotta get my shit together an buy one of those skeletons that is some of the best quality out there u should be proud of what u got there.... look out axial !!
I use multi channel GT3C radios from HeyOKperformance. They are hacked for up to 6 ch and can be programmed for anything on any button, basically. Very easy to use. Google HeyOKperformance for his store and contact info.
Great video..have to love the Jeeps.....but please turn the rig & controller off.....what an annoying noise...like finger nails on a chalkboard....lol....or maybe it is the shocks & springs...IDK...annoying either way
First of all, I want to say that I enjoyed this video more than you could actually imagine :). This truck is so amazing! Seeing this engineering marvel come from such a small company makes me proud to be Canadian, eh :D (I’m actually from Quebec so English isn’t my mother tongue but I eh occasionally to my Canadian brothers :P). Now that we got that out of the way, I have a few questions to ask you. I figured I might as well make a list to make it easier to answer! 1. Are the Tera mod axles 3D printed? If they aren’t, what forming technique did you use? 2. What is the HK servo you are talking about? How many oz/in does it boast? Because I’m searching for a monster torque servo on the cheap! I’ve found this one which has gobs of torque and is 8.4V capable! www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__50468__Turnigy_TGY_DS3509MG_HV_High_Torque_Digital_Coreless_Servo_w_Alloy_Case_40kg_12sec_78g.html The only problem is that there are not any real reviews on it :( I’ve also eyed out the servo on which the Holmes Hobbies brushless servo is based (I really don’t think he changed anything to be honest…) www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__43054__TrackStar_TS_910_Digital_1_8_Truggy_Monster_Truck_Steering_Servo_66g_30_6kg_0_14sec.html 3. (Not really a question but really a suggestion, anyhow, I digress) You should really try the Lockeduprc OT 2 shafts, they are beefy as hell! You could also test (I know this is kind of stepping on your own market share with the GCM last locker) the FI spools. I have a pair on my truck and dang, they are the tightest not non-slop locker I have ever seen! You could at least give them a chance, you know, for testing purposes ;). I have a new full set of FI spools and a pair of OT 2 shafts in the mail expected tomorrow (Aw yes :P). I could tell you If the OT 2 shafts are as great as the FI spools! Plus while you’re at it, pick up their new 300lb synthetic winch line for you’re crazy TZI winch! It doesn’t stop there! The shipping to Canada is dirt cheap! They also seem to go through the customs without being noticed since they don’t usually generate customs fees (knock on wood)! 4. As for now, I’m a broke 17 year old (spent too much on my SCX10 :P), so I really can’t afford what I’m going to propose. But would you be willing to completely build a truck for a customer? I mean from front to back no expenses spared? When money isn’t as short as it is now, I would be very interested in this. Finally, after this novel of a comment I wrote you, thank you for all the killer videos you’ve been putting out lately. They are my favorite youtube RC related videos!
Thanks for the comments! Here's some answers: 1. Yes, we use a scintered nylon process that's really quite tough and adequate for scale trucks. I don't think I'd use it on a 6s wraith bashing on rocks at speed, but it's working great for us and many others as an axle material. 2. The HK servos we use are listed at the end of the video and linked in the 'about' comments. Check there. 3. I've never used the LockedUpRC stuff yet, but will sometime. The winch line has my attention! 4. Broke for a hobby at 17 isn't a bad thing at all! Yeah! We talked about cost of a full build below in the comments here. Have a look for that. We do full custom builds by order, yes. Thanks for enjoying the vids!
I'm going to make the same Rubicon body.
It helps a lot to see the video.

GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada may i ask where you got this body, i would really like one
I must have watched this video 16 times while I wait for the skeleton ultimate combo to come in. great stuff!
Great chassis! Just received my kit on Monday and am slowly building it up. Waiting on a front axle and driveshafts.
That is one amazing rig, can't wait to get my hands on some of those axels.

GCMRacing1 Definitely will.
Real nice build Chris. Simple and it works. The GCM way.
Thanks!
Dude I love your rig! You have best detailed scale jeep out there! I want that rig! Awesome! Thanks for doing this video :-)
I WILL ABSOLUTELY BUY THOSE AXLES!!! lol I need them for my scale jeep cherokee xj build. I need more scale. love the JK build.
Nice axles. So they are what joe has been hinting about on bench questions. I love them. The best I've seen and awesome offset pumpkin.
Thanks! That's right, this is the axle set that Joe has actually seen and held... We hope to finish the testing and proof that they will make it to market, and have some available mid year.

Question. What's the headlight eye to eye compared to a Newbright rubicon? That is all. Great review!
Nice build. Lot of work!
Thanks!

That's a great report! It's always nice to hear of another electronics setup that's working for you. Sounds like a winner!
Nylon huh cool that will help keep the rig light which I have found works best for me. Will nylon help in keeping the cost lower?
Awesome and thanks for showing under he body, i understand it can't be easily done on some other RC's so just do it when you can really, it's just a bonus in my book :-)

this video is old but old its good what you have done for the small truck all you guys really means a lot your servo is pissed off haha
I would love to have one like yours, but with a yellow body! Would you guys build one if I order one? And how much one like yours will cost me?
and BTW that is an awesome truck sweet setup thanks for sharing yr rigs!
great job man....beautifull jeep, lot of mods, well done!!
Thanks!
Do a review on the blue jeep in the background
I think I heard you build and sell these? I.e. The red jeep on this video.... Ty
Nice build - tell me please what is the wheel diameter, rim is 1.9 but what is the tire???
Oh and the 2 speed transfer case. Any idea when they will be released? I love the idea of 2 speed in the transfer case. Efficient and compact
It's a bit larger than the 1:1 TCase we have, but it's a great addition for the Jeep!
Did you hit this body with a clear coat, or is it already that glossy? Mine will be here in a few days.
+Dustin Farnum These bodies are actually plastic moulds in color, and PAINT on TOP of the plastic in the very same color. That's why they look so good. It also means they repaint really well because there's already paint on the body.

Love this rig!
That chassis is SAHWEET! I have a couple of questions....
Will a Tamiya CC-01 body fit the wheelbase?
Do you have another 2-speed TC in the works yet?
I have the opportunity to get a 2700KV, 4-pole brushless motor... SHOULD I??

+ViceVersa Musik Dinky R/C store has these kits.
There is no links in your description for all the products (parts) that you used for this build?
Ok! sorry the parts description are in your Class 1 build
The about info section there was all messed up! Sorry! I fixed all the links and there's new info there specific to this truck.
Thanks!
Awesome video! Can you please let me know the wheelbase of this body in mm? Can’t seem to find that exact info anywhere. Thanks!
diver362 270mm
GCMRacing1 - Scale Truck RC in Canada thanks :) Happy New Year!

I like to build a truck for ground up
hi, is there any way for me to send you some pics of my jk? im building a one of a kind jk and i would like to show you. great vid btw! 🔝
You ever consider making this jeep into an rtr kit to sell? And if so would you have an idea of cost?
Have a look down the comments a bit, we talked about this back there. Yes is the answer! We will make full trucks by special order.
Absolutely amazing workmanship in there. But after seeing the prices of a few upgrades i almost had a heart attack ($1000). Still pretty amazing though. If i have cash ill pretty sure to get all upgrades.

If you're scaling the items on the print program, then be sure the scale is the same for x and y and z and then you'll have the intended size.
How much for a ready to run chassis, for my China Rubicon 2 door hardbody ???
around 800$ canadian ready to go.
Is the front bumper the stock width or did you modify it?
ECXTD At this time it was stock width, although I did add a flat top plate and a fairlead to it back then.
Other than the top plate and fairlead it is stock.
can you please give me the link for the sound kit company please and thank you
Any news on the little tease from the background with the tamiya jeep body trying to hold off on buying anything awesome job with the all the videos
We are using the Tamiya Wrangler body for developing our new Skeleton Leaf chassis, and it's coming along well. Thanks!

hi! I have a few questions: 1. is it possible to build the chassis from mst bridges cfx/cfx-w; 2. is it possible to install a two-stage transmission rc4wd ax2? thank you!
Axle yes, AX2 No.
So can I put that body on an scx10 chassis?
You can, but some chopping is involved. It's not a direct fit, and it IS a direct fit on this chassis
Where is the two speed transfercase from?
We made a few of those here. Not for sale
an excellent review..!
Hey I'm going to want these axles. What material are they. Aluminum or steel or plastic or what. And my main question is on my scx10 I use the axial aluminum 3 link setup front and rear. They will need custom links all around, and although the stock lowers may be able to work, the uppers will be completely new. SCX2 did not exist when this video was released.
Ok . Thanks .
How much is the complete kit worth I can't find it on your Web site
There's a few options for kits. Look here: gcmracing.ca/viewcategory.php?groupid=27 Thanks for the comment.
I was just wondering if the RCModelex 2 dr jk body would work with the GCM Racing J2 Skeleton Chassis kit?
minicooperzoom I've never seen that body, or know of it's size to check. Sorry
From the way it looks it looks almost if not exactly like the Jeep JK 2dr body you are using for your J2 Skeleton.
is there any rock sliders for that kit?
No sliders, but could be easily added. The body has super thick rockers that are the perfect sliders!
would you guys build a truck like that RTR or ARTR? just asking. n if so how much? thanks GCM..

I hope we have some ready for sale mid year. We have to beat on them a bit more before sale. Thanks
Is it water proof?
+Mark Anderson I don't go swimming with my trucks, so it may be 'waterproof' but It won't be swimming ever.
Very Nice !!!
Thanks for watching!
where can i get the battery

1. Are the Tera mod axles 3D printed? If they aren’t, what forming technique did you use?
2. What is the HK servo you are talking about? How many oz/in does it boast? Because I’m searching for a monster torque servo on the cheap! I’ve found this one which has gobs of torque and is 8.4V capable! www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__50468__Turnigy_TGY_DS3509MG_HV_High_Torque_Digital_Coreless_Servo_w_Alloy_Case_40kg_12sec_78g.html
The only problem is that there are not any real reviews on it :( I’ve also eyed out the servo on which the Holmes Hobbies brushless servo is based (I really don’t think he changed anything to be honest…) www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__43054__TrackStar_TS_910_Digital_1_8_Truggy_Monster_Truck_Steering_Servo_66g_30_6kg_0_14sec.html
Here's some answers:
Thanks :D keep up the great work and enjoy the hobby!
