Absolutely loving the content mate! Really interesting to see behind the scenes content compared to the usual before and after content most people do. Loving the journey
Good job but take your time and prep properly fella remove the calipers and the results will be better and also quicker than masking everything. Keep up the good work 👍
Good watch Jack but I have never painted calipers like that. I removed the slider frame to get the pads out, I remove the slider pins and boots put grease over the slider pin hole in the caliper frame and ref it the frame after masking up the hose, with the pads removed its so easy to mask up the disc, simply mask up half of it furthest from the caliper then rotate it then mask it up the other side......simples 🙂
One thing I've found useful is to tape the disc and then rotate the wheel forward or backwards so that the bit you've just taped goes under the pads. Just helps not getting spray on the discs (but u still have to tape up the pads)
@@robertogden8361 I haven’t actually tried this, I’d of expected the gap to be not big enough for the tape, I’ll give it a go next time! Thanks for watching 🫶🏻
Wouldn’t it be easier to remove the calliper and hanger, and spray them on hooks, refitting afterwards? To save on tape and paper masking time. Great workshop build very fresh and rewarding 😊
@@JackFoleyRUclips not if you use clamps for the brake pipes, only a small portion to bleed between clamp and caliper, probably only one pedal press. You could have at least took the carrier off and sprayed off the car. Caliper then much easier with pads removed
Nice channel, very professional and big scale! Those wipes are great, however they do have a habit of leaving a alkaline residue on the surface, so before paint I’d recommend just a blast and wipe with brake cleaner or on the centre caps a basic panel prep spray, most companies like “auto smart” sell it in 5 litre cans, it’s ideal for any painted surfaces, and it’s safe on paint Great channel Jack,
@@jackslym1177 cheers mate, we would always cover customers plates however we had permission off this customer to use their reg to promote the number plates we sell 🤝
Jack, Humbrol / Revel do model paint, they do stuff called masking fluid. Try painting it on the where you would normally want to mask. It dries and can be peeled off once the paint is dry. Top tip from Toy Shop Dave :-)
Another great video Jack, there's no end to you talents, loved the bar work, and the abarth looked amazing although personally I would have gone for a gloss black wheel with the M3 blue. Well done
Enjoying the channel and content mate, keep up the good work. PS I can highly recommend Danks Plates, I've used Jack a few times now, top quality products 👌🏼
Good video but I was very underwhelmed by your customers choice of caliper/wheel colour. I would have had acid yellow calipers with all badges done to match including the Abarth in the front grill and acid yellow mirror caps. With a high gloss black alloy but that’s my choice and not your customers I guess
@@JackFoleyRUclipsyep I was needing alloys on TT refurbed and a detail but I wasn't quite sure what you actually specialise in although I've seen a couple of your videos doing up the unit and this abarth vid.

Would it have been better to mask the rubbers too. Also the wire to the brake pads for the sensor.
Seriously warming to these cars! Great work! 👍
