Had to laugh, you must have microphones in our house down here in Melbourne, discussing with the minster of finance , the beautiful wife, the need for a bike fit as I am getting a new gravel bike soon… this weeks piece did the job, thanks and ride safely
The minister of finance 🤣 I wish I’d got it sooner. Older worth doing if you’re getting a new bike. I wish my minister of finance would give the go ahead for a gravel bike 🤣
To answer the question, yes I got the bike before the fit but I’ve being a 56 since I started riding bikes. Some of the previous videos are where I’ve taken an SL8 ( size 56) home for awhile to try before I got my bike. I knew I wanted a 56, just need to get fitted properly 🤙
@@derekfeehan I've always been XL/58 sized (due to a Yard of inseam, yet short bodied), but, after demo-ing a few bikes I realised that the best option was to work out what size/geometry I should be riding, and then look for a bike that fits my need - or go custom.
That's some setup to get your measurements right for the bike will you do a check list for yourself before you head out on the bike 😂 lovely to see you had the sun on you this week keep cycling 😊
And I bet u headed out the second with no kit again 😅😅 that's some bit fit infairness they don't mess about at all 💯💯 I remember u telling me to lower my saddle now ill go higher 😂😂😂 , your tour ready 😉💪💪💪
Im a disaster Adrian 🤣 I take it on and off so many times and never about it till I’m rolling over something thinking I could get a flat here. Then it dawns on me I’ve left it at home again 🫣 I’m making a conscious effort from now to have it from now on 🤣
@@derekfeehan Highly recommended. You get several benefits, one is you obviously get more aero. You also get less fatigue on the bike and can put down more power for longer. And balance on the bike too from the yoga.🧘
I’m 6ft 183cm and I’m on a 56. Chris did say to me I’m nearly at the upper limit for the 56 and with my flexibility not great, I should maybe consider a 58 for my next bike. It might give me a little bit more comfort and freedom.
@@derekfeehan Thanks! I am 172cm on a 54 Specialized and I feel quite stretched even with a short reach setup (and I am not very flexible myself). Your position at the other end of the range looks more comfortable to me actually. I believe I would rather have the handlebar closer and leaning down a bit more than the other way around :)
It’s mad how it goes, it’s a complete individual thing. I thought I was going right and I won’t lie, I felt I was getting closer every time to the bike fitting perfect but when I saw a photo at the start I had a massive hunched back. At the end I was definitely much more open and felt better for it. I’ll give it a few wks now and see how it fairs out 🤙
Yeah bit of a mad one, I don’t think it’s an exact science. All these machines can give you numbers but your body might say different. In fairness when the fit I did with Specialized was done I was told to do a few rides and see where I’m at. I could come back and make adjustments, I was even getting follow up calls to check everything was going good. Thankfully I’ve noticed a massive improvement since I got it done.
I shared my video onthis chat but it keep deleting it. I ahve a video that will solve your poor insta 360 sound quality. It'smy junior Sean Kelly vid fo to 2min and 5 secs. It costs about 4 quid - best thing I have bought
My wife said the same 🤣 was using the invisi stick, I was sitting on it and was moving it to the front. I got a little laugh from it so left the clip in
Got bike fit done with Chris myself a couple of weeks ago. Brilliant lad and a complete game changer. Don’t know why I never got it before.
He’s excellent is he! For the amount of time spent on the bike a bike fit is a no brainer but it’s the last thing we do 🤣

Bike fits are the best purchase you can make for your bike
100% agree pal 🤙
I'm confused, did you already buy the bike, and then have a bike fit?

Fitted perfect on it now, no more guess work. I’d nearly forgotten what the sun looks like 🤣
NICE BIKE!
Sound pal. Absolutely love it
fitter has really nice boots! 😁
I’ll pass it on 🤣🤙
With the lack of rain & wet roads I though I was on the wrong channel 😂
I had to do a bike fit just to go indoors and get out of the rain 🤣 the amount of rain I’m after getting I’m definitely due a good summer 🙏
No excuses now Derek !!!🤣🤣🤣
Full steam ahead now 🚴♂️💨

I’m gonna tie a breakdown kit to the bike 🤣it’s a serious set up, well worth getting it done. Need good spin like the tour now to test it
@derekfeehan 😂😂 is it just specialized bikes he dose or dose he do it for all customers? A yeah the tour will definitely test it 🙈🙈😂😂
@shanemullen1388 any bike. Head to toe. Wish I got it done ages ago
@@derekfeehan I may look into it so 💯💯
@shanemullen1388 come up sometime with me and you could get it done 👍
Get yourself a bandit saddle kit package 🙂
just looked at them, tidy little kits 💯
I’m going to buy you a pump and puncture repair kit. 😂I swear that’s every video since I subscribed you have gone out with one 😂

Need to offer more ice cream for subscribers (which Zoe is still not subscribed 😂) and zip tie a break down kit to the bike so you don’t forget it.
Can’t believe she hasn’t subscribed still😯
…”No break down kit again?”….No 🤣
How tall are ya ? Greets from Germany ;-) Always safe rides :-)
6 foot, 183cm. Thanks pal, same to you. 🚲🤙
Random question, what is your seat height?
It’s 788mm from just looking at the measurements they sent on
Eat like me mate and you will shred up QUICK and your FTP will fly up! :)
Share the secret 🤣
I made me fit the bike by yoga and stretching. Feel so comfortable on the bike now.
That’s something I need to do. I never stretch or cool down after a ride 🫣

Could definitely be an idea 😀🤙

I am 1.81….not very flexible and have a 58 SL6….but never made a bike fit
Whatever your comfortable on pal 🤙 if it works for you that’s all that matters.
I used to get bike fits done until three different so called fitters gave dramatically different results on my last bike.

DO you have a specialized Tattoo too ;)
Worse….an Ironman tat 🤣
@@derekfeehan please dear God don't wear those short tri socks or worse - no socks! lol. 7 inches is the rule!

It’s a little pocket rocket 🤣🚀
