    Went to buy a bike around 5 years ago but made the mistake of asking 5 different cyclists advice & of course got 5 different answers. Eventually bought a "new old stock" aluminium Giant with rim brakes & 105s for €750 on Done Deal & I absolutely love it. Did my first 100k within 3 weeks. Perfect starter bike. In no rush to upgrade but might do if I join a club. Can keep up with my buddy as it stands and that's all that matters.
    Dead on about the bib shorts.
    Genuinely love your videos. Keep it up & thank you

    Great video. If on a solo ride it’s handy to activate the emergency contact on your garmin. Saved my bacon before when I crashed and cracked a frame, also fecked up my arm and leg and was 80km from home. Wifey to the rescue 😅

    Great video. Well done on the channel.
    Another tip is early in the year sign up for something. Be it a 50km charity cycle or the Tour De France. It gets you off the couch & working towards a goal. A key thing IMHO.
    Totally agree with the red lights & stop sign thing. If a car stops, a bike stops.

    • @derekfeehan
      @derekfeehan  Месяц назад

      That’s a top tip, wish I’d thought of that. I actually always try book an event for the following year to get me through winter. Keeps me tipping away.

    Cracking advice Derek, another I'd say is when ye get the hang of the spins why not try hooking up with a few other people for a Group Spin and see how that goes ?. Joining a Club will deffo bring ye on, if its not for you then no worries. ALWAYS have yer phone with ye if ye are going out

    • @derekfeehan
      @derekfeehan  Месяц назад

      I’ll say firstly I’m a brand ambassador with specialized Ireland so take from that what you will but I wouldn’t bullshit anyone. The service from Specialized is beyond first class. You nearly get a new bike back. Anything that needs replacing is replaced. You pay good money for your bike, it’s worth looking after it. A mate of mine got his done there as well and I couldn’t believe everything they done. Down to the small details.
