    • @OddTimeMan
      @OddTimeMan 6 месяцев назад +1

      If you run snow tires all year round, then they won't last very long. If you have summer tires and winter tires, then that's another complete set of tires and wheels that you have to buy...and swap...and store.

    Thank you for this FANTASTIC review! I currently have a hold on an orange 2RS and have been watching hours of reviews. Yours is at the top of that list now. Thru my own research I found that the reason they are not offering AWD is due to taking a poll from former Trax owners and discovering the majority preferred FWD. Keep up the great work, I'm now a new subscriber!

    Definitely an enjoyable review! AlthoughI finally got the Encore GX for my commuter cars, the trax was also in my bucket list. You know that the concept of designing of this vehicle is for the replacement of compact or middle sized sedan, so it means that they separate the market for the lower entry car by the Trax. The Trailblazer is for the upper entry market which is for someone who needs AWD and more features like premium audio option.

    The thing I guess is knowing this car is a comfortable cruiser, not a sports car. Love the driving dynamics! I believe with the wide, squat body, helps hug the road. The light weight, might help not over stress that motor. In Europe, gives millions and millions of under 50 hp and 1.0 motors! In Japan, millions and millions of 660 cc. CARS! So, going in and getting one, maintenance and easy driving and realize with direct injection, and a Turbo to boot, warm it up and Cool it down. Maintenance will ALWAYS be essential and not to be ignored. 1.2 is not tiny, Go to Germany, Italy, France. They have 30 hp, two cylinder cars, in the millions. Italy, after WW. 2, France and East Germany were stuck with 26 hp cars, and whole families that was the family sedan!

    I'm not on a budget per se, but I just don't want to spend $30K or or more on a vehicle when I'm not a car guy by any means. I just want a basic vehicle to get me to where I need to go, but I also don't want it to appear as though I'm poor lol; so, this is actually a really good value, and the car looks pretty cool, surprisingly. The base model does the job for me. It's kind of a step down, so to speak, from my Kia Optima, but that car died just after 100K miles due to the shoddy hybrid system. Time will tell to see how well this Trax is made.

    AWD can be a nice addition, but I've lived in the Buffalo, NY area all my life and driven plenty of rear wheel drive and front wheel drive vehicles in all sorts of winter conditions. Many of those years I've drive them without snow tires just fine. I'm not talking about six inches of snow either, but I've driven those in over two feet of snow. Back then it was the norm.
    I'm currently thinking of a Trax too, and I'd be trading in a AWD '23 Ford.

    I currently have a 2015 Trax LTZ with FWD only. I've never owned an AWD vehicle, and I feel it can be overrated. I live in the Northeast here in Jersey with our fair share of snow in the winter. If you know how to drive in those elements, you would be just fine with FWD and probably get better gas mileage. I will wait to see the new Buick Envista as well before making my new car decision. Envista and the Trax are basically the same car with some natural styling differences.

    I paid over 6k more to get AWD and heated seats and steering wheel on my '23 Ford. I didn't even get a decent audio system with it either, and it glitches out more than the last three vehicles I've owned combined.
    I'll miss the AWD traction in deep snow, but I've driven FWD in over two feet with all-season tires just fine.
    I'm aiming towards the 1RS for the lower cost, regular gauges, less/no piano black interior trim. I also like the look of the 18" wheels better. My toughest choice right now is picking a color and deciding if I want to seek out one with/without a sunroof.

Take the previous 4 cylinder from the older hideously designed Trax and use it on this very good looking SUV and you have a winning recipe. Unfortunately, GM has cost cutting morons who don’t understand intelligent buyers. I hate to use such derogatory terms, but it’s too obvious to deny!!! GM should be attracting as many buyers at a time when newer technology will require buyers to be more sophisticated with their hard earned dollars. I would never purchase a three cylinder vehicle under any circumstances mainly due to the engine durability concern. GM scrap your crappy 3 banger and do the right thing and replace it with a decent 4 cylinder motor. Keep up with your moronic shenanigans and you will find yourself bankrupt again!!! Before it's all over just about every vehicle will be a 3 cylinder...that or an EV. I agree that they should have stuck with a 4 cylinder engine. I think a majority are concerned about the long term reliability of the 3 cylinder engine. I love the new design of the Trax however having a tiny 3 cylinder engine and only getting 137 HP is pathetic.
