Line the bottom barrel with firebrick on the bottom half to help protect it.

I wonder if you added some rocks to the upper stove chamber (big rocks to allow air flow easily) if the extra mass would help with heating longer after fire dies out a little bit

Wait till that really gets going, turns red and starts going, woof, woof, like a big dog! Exciting! Make sure you can shut off the air. They really do heat well.

Make sure you check your insurance policy. Mine clearly stated my building would not be covered if it was heated by an unapproved or homemade wood burning stove. There is a reason these kits are not available in all states. They are illegal in some.

Some stars make them illegal simply because it's a wood stove, and they justify the ban based on poorly argued climate change fears

      Pretty crazy ain't it

@@TheEngineerNextDoor55 I don’t think it’s crazy at all. If I had an insurance company I would want to cover a building that burned down because of a janky wood burning stove. Those are great for occasional use, but the metal is thin and they burn through in 3 or 4 years, dropping embers on the ground. To be honest, they are dangerous. I had one. And I’m glad I pulled it out.

Except, ( if I saw correctly in the video) the bottom vent pipe should flare INTO the the top barrel. You had it flared out which could exhaust into room unless completely air tight.

Came to say the same thing. Def looked like it flared out.
**Edit: It looks like it was corrected it when they cut the longer piece

Correct on the final cut when I extended it I made the pipe not flared out. Only had a coupler when I was orignally fitting it up which wouldn't fit so I had to cut it up just to mock it up then used a real piece when I bought more stove pipe. Good eye! :)

@@TheEngineerNextDoor55 Glad you caught that brotha!! Carbon Monoxide is not to be triffled with.
Also be careful with creosote build up in the second chamber if you don't have a good way to access it to clean/check it, you might want to think about adding an access hatch. The buildup can catch on fire and is why these stoves are often banned in places!!

Its too slow. Maybe edit out or FF the more repetitive elements for future.
