Messier was on his way to some meeting - apparently regarding some upcoming event. We were surprised and a bit awestruck when he walked past. I think my brother still kicks himself he didn’t initiate a conversation - whole thing lasted about 10 seconds. Lol.

Gordie Howe ain't modern cars he had cards back in the 50 60 70 the '80s and on up are the new cards

Great video. IMO Hockey is very undervalued compared to the other sports. like you mentioned aswell, the pop counts are also considerably lower then the others. I think its a great speculative play too.

I watched this video a week ago and decided to keep my eye out for a Howe 2nd year card. I attended the Toronto sport card expo this weekend and picked up a PSA 5 1952 Howe . It’s a beauty of a card and I got it for an amazing price. It’s surely undervalued compared to other vintage cards from smiler sports. A 1953 topps mantle goes for 15k in a PSA 5 condition. The Howe is definitely going to go up in value due to scarcity. Only around 480 graded between PSA, SGC, BGS. Not sure about KSA but who knows with them …

Great video! Although you said Lemieux is a 5-time Stanley Cup champion....he only won 2 as a player (other 3 as an owner). Nice list of cards, though!

Honestly feel like Ovechkin is the biggest guy to be collecting right now. His cards seem to be going up quite a bit as he gets closer to Gretzky’s goal record.
I live in Dallas tx hobby shop very small hockey product but ever target and Walmart and CVS and Walgreens is not touched so I buy it up open a box or to and hold on to the rest 👍🏻

I live in San Antonio. If you ever get down this way check out Sports Cards Plus. It's a great shop that has a fairly good selection of hockey cards and hobby boxes. They also have some good memorabilia from all sports.

I love in East Texas and got into hockey after becoming fed up with the pump and dump and overproduced Panini and Topps junk. I fell in love with Kirill Kaprizov and now have a crazy PC and climbing. Not really into vintage, but I will put a Gretsky in my collection eventually.

Leon’s YG is the last year before ePack which is mainly why his pop count is so low. He’s also the guy most likely to be traded. This is year 8 for McDavid. They’re not winning anything anytime soon unless they get a haul for someone. It won’t be Connor. Good player but long term his cards are probably at peak right now.
If you already got a Gretzky, get 2. 🤪
To me, error cards don't matter if there isn't a later corrected version. At least to me.

Believe it or not some topps are less populated than pee chee but yes for the most part I agree. Using a budget more my videos is what usually determines what I chose .
I personally would rather have a lemiuex topps 9 than an pee chee 8 but understand either purchase is awesome !!!
Gretzky holds all the meanful stats, Lemieux and Mcdavid battle for 2nd best all time.
You can’t beat Gretzky’s stats , that’s for sure , but I will say if I’m drafting a team of players in their prime, I’m taking lemiuex 1st overall

Eichel's value in the hobby may never go up. He has kind of solidified his prices because of his cancerous attitude that he's been known for. Hell, he even considered himself to be better than McDavid lol. He is a great player though, and still a potential investment, but he would need to win a cup in my opinion.

I agree, I didn’t say they were vintage cards , the Howe and Gretzky are considered vintage though
@@MoneyBall_Channel yeah maybe I think Gretzky is more of the modern era card but nobody ever does any card shows or videos on cards from the 50s 60s and 70s we just hear about more of the modern players

I mean, the the title is a bit clickbaity implying there's a rush before a big increase in value, especially for the retired players. But, he did say he's targeting people who may just be getting into hockey. These cards would make for a strong start of a collection, and contains a lot of must haves. I'm pretty amazed at Draisaitls prices as well. They are grossly undervalued.

Totally love hearing this !!! That card is amazing , congrats !!! I’ve been trying to get a low graded one at a reasonable price for a while now !!! Im picky though, I want one with nice colors and centering 🤷🏼♂️
