Fun fact, they're animals, like sponges. Also my first ice biome gets sacrificed for the wheezeworts, which are used to cool my glossy drecko ranches. As a bonus the dreckos will produce infinitely more phosphorite than the 2 wheezeworts per ranch(tall ranch style) will need. A really virtuous cycle.
Extra: The radiation they emit can act as a germ lock, killing all germs which try to pass through an area. I usually put 1 at the enterance of the swamp biome so my colony doesnt get infested with Slimelung
I've been using the entombed flower pot exploit to grow Mealwood, Grubfruit, Wheezeworts, and Dusk Caps. The entombed flower pot exploit allows me to copy the planted plant in a regular flower pot so that I can use these plants for many other applications. My favorite is using Wheezeworts to chill a walk in freezer filled with hydrogen gas. I plant the Wheezeworts in flower pots and have the Wheezeworts built on top of mechanized airlocks so that when my walk in freezer reaches the desired temperature, the temperature sensor can trigger and open the airlocks to disable the Wheezeworts. The walk in freezer is atmo suit accessed with two liquid locks to keep the inside and outside temperatures separate.
I would also add that they are a great addition for a glossy drecko farm specially early game, it would passively cool the room so that meal wood doesn't overheat and the phosphorus is in the same room so the amount of labor is almost none
You forgot, one of the most important reasons to use the weezwort, Deep freezers. You can put 1 on each side of a thermoregulator and it will keep it cool so it can keep your food at the required -21F for frozen. You can also use the thermoregulator setup to cool a sleet wheat farm as well. Its a lot easier to set up then what you showed..
It depends on what other setups you have. If you are wanting to cool for that long, you'll need a lot of Phosphorite, or you need a constant stream of production (Dreckos). I don't typically cool my setup with that, but I suppose you could.

I love the exclamations.
Wheezewort, best "decorative plant" in the game. XD
Do not need the shipment network at all. Could just use the natural ones even in Spaced out.
Slap them next to a cool steam vent because I don't feel like making yet another at/st.
How of a useful additon are Wheezeworts in oxygen cooling setups?

If you can manage to get it planted naturally in the right spot, it's pretty good.
