Loving that campervan idea - Car, air mattress, etc ... just goes to show you don't need much. We bought exactly the same wok from K-mart for $10 - great deal! I'm trying to convince Denise buying some sort of camper would be fun and do some traveling around NZ because at the moment it's all work, work, work (saving for early retirement / lifestyle change somewhere semi-rural). Leaning towards a Nissan NV200 imported from Japan to save costs - still won't be cheap however. Your content and storytelling is great and good music choices - well done! At least Subaru station wagons are long enough to sleep 😴 💤 in the back of. I own a 2021 Subaru Outback which i use for sleeping 😴 💤 in the back of when camping 😊
The Subaru is great for sleeping indeed, exactly the right lenght for us short people hehe!

You ant experienced nz until you have had to wait for a flock of sheep to be moved up the highway lol. Golf / maze place looked fun, where was that? Cheers for the entertainment guys
Well now we have, and i'm glad we did, so fun to watch the dogs do an excellent job in directing them. The mini golf was in Hanmer Springs called A-Maze-N golf! Definitely recommend, was very fun. ☺ Thanks for your comment!
@@KenAndLauraVlogs I grew up in the 1960s and 70s (born 1957) and livestock moving along the roads was very common back then.
There were a lot more gravel roads, and the pace of life was much slower. ❤️

If its just you 2 maybe dont pack your bed away and just leave it out, and place things safely so they dont move around, save time, just a suggestion.
Would have def saved us a lot of time, but we had so much loose stuff that it seemed safer this way, but thanks for this feedback!!! Next roadtrip we'll do better! 😇

Your setup has inspired me - but what do you do for a toilet and charging devices? Seriously want to try this, but I can't figure that out!
Hi, we loved Hanmer Springs as well, such a lovely town.
We mostly camped in places that had toilet but you can always buy a portable one. As with charging devices, we mostly did it while driving, had our phones on chargers, as for cameras we had multiple batteries already charged and ready to go. You definitely should try doing that. All the best! ☺

Just a quick correction, on the treaty of waitangi. Maori never signed the treaty to agree to play by European rules. The treaty was signed by Maori, because they were tricked into believing that, they would still have their own laws, traditions, land etc, but that pakeha (Europeans) could live peacefully with maori. Sadly for Maori that was not the case, and it was far from peaceful.

NO incorrect on the treaty: It was an agreement between the crown, (Queen) and the Maori people of Aotearoa, that the Europeans can come in to Aotearoa, but they must live properly, as previous immigrants were running a muck in Aotearoa, so Maori chiefs told them to check their people coming in, they were acting like savages. for a while it was good, but then European started misbehaving again...So I am not sure where you got your info that Maori agreed to live the white mans rule, why would the majority of Maori give the Europeans this much power over their own country. Hi, the vacuous girl here, I get where you are coming from, I might seem that way in the videos, as I am not feeling totally comfortable talking to the camera yet, also speaking another language. I don't think your comment was quite fair as you really don't know me, but I take it as a constructive criticism to try and be more "livelier" and comfortable with the camera next time.
