gotta say you guys looked wrecked at the end of the hike.....before the end of the hike lol......apart from the physical alot of hiking is mentality....you had a good attitude and you didnt give up...as you build your experiences you become more hardened to it if you ever have to do it again.

i hiked up tongariro which is a volcano in the north island.....its got a beautiful red crater....its also famous for lord of the rings mt doom. Also did white island which is on the east coast of the north island but this was 8 years ago.....can no longer visit there anymore because it erupted while tourists were on the island and it didnt end well unfortunately. Checkout the netflix documentary on white island. I hope your enjoying your time in nz wishing you well.

Just a quick correction, on the treaty of waitangi. Maori never signed the treaty to agree to play by European rules. The treaty was signed by Maori, because they were tricked into believing that, they would still have their own laws, traditions, land etc, but that pakeha (Europeans) could live peacefully with maori. Sadly for Maori that was not the case, and it was far from peaceful. Great vlog though, hope you guys enjoy your week off

NO incorrect on the treaty: It was an agreement between the crown, (Queen) and the Maori people of Aotearoa, that the Europeans can come in to Aotearoa, but they must live properly, as previous immigrants were running a muck in Aotearoa, so Maori chiefs told them to check their people coming in, they were acting like savages. for a while it was good, but then European started misbehaving again...So I am not sure where you got your info that Maori agreed to live the white mans rule, why would the majority of Maori give the Europeans this much power over their own country. If its just you 2 maybe dont pack your bed away and just leave it out, and place things safely so they dont move around, save time, just a suggestion.

Best beaches on north island are on the east coast. Also on the north island hope you go to Weta Studio tour in Wellington and on the cable car up the hill in Wellington and near Taupo the Huka Falls trail and go in hot spring under bridge on the trail. See the mud pools in Rotorua. Drive to Thames and Russell and see Tane Mahuta

Loving that campervan idea - Car, air mattress, etc ... just goes to show you don't need much. We bought exactly the same wok from K-mart for $10 - great deal! I'm trying to convince Denise buying some sort of camper would be fun and do some traveling around NZ because at the moment it's all work, work, work (saving for early retirement / lifestyle change somewhere semi-rural). Leaning towards a Nissan NV200 imported from Japan to save costs - still won't be cheap however. Your content and storytelling is great and good music choices - well done!
