"I don't know!" and "Quiet, peasants!" got me grinning like an idiot Him losing his composure/mask in front of more people would've been so freakin cool I love that kid
The scrapped Akechi Palace fascinates me as a fan of his character (especially since, even with Royal, a lot of his past is still vague), and I hope that one day a build with it still present gets leaked. Still, even this small snippet is a great discovery! The cut palace and the data mined indications that Akechi would rejoin the party in vanilla make me wonder endlessly about what could have been and how his character changed in the many turbulent years of P5’s development.
I wish they hadn’t removed some of that past reveal in Royal. Knowing that his mother and him stayed in a shelter was very interesting, and it’s nice Akechi had a place to go to between vanilla and Royal’s ending
With the fact that he was meant to rejoin the party in vanilla and the cut palace I believe Akechi was supposed to have a Persona 4 kind of confrontation with his shadows self where he finally deals with his issues. But overall, I think is was a good called to cut it. Not only it will most likely mess with the momemtum of the game but it would be pretty similar to Futaba's palace.
This scene would have been nice to bridge the gap between Akechi saying, "Wouldn't the deaths of these teenagers be a bit much?" to full on kill 'em all in in the Engine Room.
Having a palace doesn’t make you evil as evidenced by Futaba and the final antagonist of P5R. And there’s also the little girl in Strikers/Scramble. But yeah, maybe they got rid of it since they decided not to portray him like they did here.
Seeing this really makes me wish Royal had an Akechi palace even more. Maruki having one was an amazing twist that my friends and I loved. Royal is a 10/10 game for me. But I love the prospect of the "what-ifs" surrounding Persona games. Specifically Akechi having his own palace and Dojima being the killer in P4.
Now that's fascinating. I wonder how that would've worked if it'd been in the final version in the game. I dig Akechi losing his composure a lot. It's a nice shift from his Detective Prince act.
The last 2 lines where he threatens to kill the Phantom Thieves probably are the real Akechi and are most likely another inner dialogue he has with himself, like the one he had in a scene with him and the TV reporters in the TV Station during Shido's Palace, after getting the 3rd or 4th letter I think it was. At least that would make the most sense to me, since we never actually see "Shadow Akechi", only a cognitive Akechi, and also since Shadow Akechi has been a scrapped concept for the original P5 already
Wonder if they had plans for Akechi to confront them in Shido's palace after they sent the card instead of before? I always thought the situation was a bit weird, but maybe it would have been too difficult to surprise deal with Akechi then ALSO fight Shido's shadow at once. Although to be fair you have a tough fight right before Akechi shows up in the actual game...
Akechi: AND I WILL KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! *points at Makoto Akechi: Especially you EDELGARD! Makoto: ...who? Akechi: I don't know, I just wanted say it for some reason... Akechi: ANYWAY...!
It's interesting how shadow akechi exists, and this means that a Palace that belongs to akechi also exists. but how do persona users even manifest a Palace tho?
It couldn't be Shadow Akechi, Persona users can't have Shadows, to unlock your Persona you must embrace your inner self, IE your Shadow. In fact, your Persona technically IS your shadow. But I guess he could have just talked to himself inner monologue style.
This might be a stretch, but I wonder if that terminology is related to Akechi’s scrapped Palace having been a castle. But we’d need the Japanese word to know for sure…
There's a good chance that Akechi's sacrifice was going to be pushed until after the group send the card and you confront him before taking on Shido, but I'm speculating on that. I have no proof to that claim
The mental image of Akechi yelling "Quiet, peasants" is really funny to me for some reason
"I don't know!" and "Quiet, peasants!" got me grinning like an idiot
Him losing his composure/mask in front of more people would've been so freakin cool I love that kid
That is honestly a trick missed. I'd love that show of the Phantom Thieves gaining the edge over him.
I mean, that line also makes sense for regular akechi, just when he’s alone
that's true, but the text unfortunately doesn't say in what situation he says that :/

The cut palace is little more than fanfiction fuel for my Akeshu brainworms

@Hector Hurtado
I don’t see a problem with it since we have Sae’a palace and Okumura anyway.
@Vanessa Walsh it's not like Akechi could get a palace anyway, since he's a persona user, unless he does what Maruki did in the 3rd semester
"Quiet, peasants!" ☠
We were robbed.
Him and Dimitri would get along just fine.
Is this some kind of twisted joke?
Dimitri 🤝 Akechi
Killing every last one of them
more like Light Yagami
Hubert is always up for some casual patricide.
I literally came down here to say this.
Amazing how we're still finding things out about this game years after release. 😮
right??
@@FazPersona probably cuse of the pc port init.
2:31 bro thinks he's Dimitri
There's something charming about Aketchi, even with him being a deranged lunatic, Robbie Daymond did a wonderful job on the VO
This scene would have been nice to bridge the gap between Akechi saying, "Wouldn't the deaths of these teenagers be a bit much?" to full on kill 'em all in in the Engine Room.
What I'd give to hear "Quiet, peasants!" fully voiced.
"Kill every last one of them!" Well now I'm having flashbacks to Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
*”QUIET PEASANTS!!”* - Akechi says calmly
akechi is always calm~ 2:05
I do prefer Akechi not being fully evil like the last two twist villains tbh but it’s still really cool.
Having a palace doesn’t make you evil as evidenced by Futaba and the final antagonist of P5R. And there’s also the little girl in Strikers/Scramble.
But yeah, maybe they got rid of it since they decided not to portray him like they did here.
Ryoji from P3 wasn't fully evil, tho :c
@@liamkqn I was talking about Shinji
@@2006PoyotaKirbolla I haven’t finished p3 but shinji was evil?

Imagine how Akechi's Palace would have been if it was finished!
This would have been the only time he broke his nice persona in front of the press. I wish they kept this
Now that's fascinating. I wonder how that would've worked if it'd been in the final version in the game.
I dig Akechi losing his composure a lot. It's a nice shift from his Detective Prince act.
"I'll kill every last one of them"
-suddenly reminded of Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd-
"Quiet, peasants!"
Now that authority in two words
It's still Akechi with the last line because he's saying Shido is not enough he has to kill the Phantom Thieves too
2:31
Akechi confirmed Dimitri von Blayiddiyddidyd
Funtime Akechi
Wtf this channel keep finding unused content endlessly lol

Wasn't Akechi also supposed to have a Palace, but was scrapped?
yes!
@@FazPersona is there any footage around? That would have been amazing :)

Man Persona 5 Royal is full of unused content.
This would have been cool to see in the game
I’ve always headcanonned that his palace would be more like Futaba’s tbh lol
They should just do an update that adds in all the extra scenes, one that add flavor that is, to make Royal more different and special than vanilla
It's interesting how shadow akechi exists, and this means that a Palace that belongs to akechi also exists.
but how do persona users even manifest a Palace tho?
I would imagine they lose their persona as it distorts into their shadow
Akechi learned from dimitri i see

Ah yes the unused akechi palace dialogue
Honestly the idea of a persona user mental state falling to such a dagree that they persona regressions into a Shadow is incredibly interesting
Nah it's probably just Akechi, he does aim to kill them anyway
Akechi in his Dimitri era
Just give us Akechi Palace and calling card for main game before Royal release, Atlus! It'll be so cool!
It's unuse cuz Akechi will be no turning back after he say that on TV
2:06 I would pay actual money for a copy of Persona 5 where Akechi would scream “Quiet, peasants!” in-game after Shido’s Calling Card scene.
wouldnt have akechi died at this point of the game
Yup! This was from a much earlier concept of P5
I thought the calling card cutscene was after Akechi's death ?
yup! this was from a much earlier concept of P5!
I wish we had his palace. That would be really cool.
Also Faz? What is the current status of your cut content mod? I cant wait to try it.
he wanna be dimitri so bad
The scene would have had more depth if this was added, but it's whatever
It makes no sense, because Persona users don't have shadows. This is why Maruki appears as himself in his palace instead of his shadow.
Do you have the original text of "Quiet, peasants!"? I am really curious about what the original Japanese text of this sentence is.
I don't :/ they only have the english text of this unfortunately
This might be a stretch, but I wonder if that terminology is related to Akechi’s scrapped Palace having been a castle. But we’d need the Japanese word to know for sure…
@@rafaelaalbernaz2994 Akechi’s scrapped palace sounds like Kamoshida’s palace
