Lyrics:
It's a strange day
No colours or shapes
No sound in my head
I forget who I am
When I'm with you
There's no reason
There's no sense
I'm not supposed to feel
I forget who I am
I forget
Fascist baby
Utopia, utopia
My dog needs new ears
Make his eyes see forever
Make him live like me
Again and again
Fascist baby
Utopia, utopia
I'm wired to the world
That's how I know everything
I'm super brain
That's how they made me
Fascist baby
Utopia, utopia

First of all....this should have so many more views than it has. (1.7M in 2024). Second? This was insanely ahead of its time and it is still relevant!
OMG.... I have become addicted to this track.
Me too. I sing it to my pup
When you hear this masterpiece of a song start to play during the end credits, that makes it worth having seen the entirety of the movie 'Afraid (2024)' all the way to the incredibly stupid ending.
…Okay, maybe it doesn't, but it's always nice to see a Goldfrapp song being used in something!
No other song comes close to this, its in a league of its own. LEGENDARY ❤
Felt mountain is a masterpiece
Yes, it is
Its so weird that in interviews, Alison and Will say they cringe when they listen to it.
@@christophersheffield9574 shows it didn't really come from "them"
@@johannsmith5697 But still a masterpiece.
i agree
I remember this coming out 20 years ago and there was NO sound like this. It was awesome. Happy times!
There still is no sound like this in 2020, just some bitches with fat butts who jitter to noise sounding like „ whoop whoop ding ding“. Music died a decade ago and we are the lucky ones, who know the good stuff.
Happy times
@@1337fraggzb00N i love songs like this and today’s songs with big booty bitches. no reason to put down music just because you don’t like it
@@cupknee don't tell me what to do.

Alison goldfrapp
Is an inspiration and gives hope to those who have not made it young....she was 35 when this came out ..her debut....she's been wildly successful since....its a myth that you have to make it by 25 or you'll never make it/be left out in the cold forever......
I'm glad she got over that too, she famously wouldn't talk about her age for a long time, possibly shame. She shouldn't be ashamed, her life has shaped this beautiful woman and her relationship with her own raw talent. I'm not saying she should be actively grateful for the shit, but yeah, don't be embarassed because you're x age and not got a record deal. What about those Fisherman Friends guys, even? They were in their sixties and seventies when they did their debut album!
Her and Debbie Harry
Shouldn’t make any difference if your 25, 35, or 85! If it’s a good song, it’s a good song! There have been brilliant song writers and musicians out there, that have written great material and will never be heard of!
@@Rick-Jangle exactly the BS cxxxs in music world and TBH not just the industry but society/the world at large is full of ageist scumbags....just "meh" about it ya know???😡😠

Hypnotic, beautiful, calming, unnerving, sexy, how can anyone not love Goldfrapp?
Yeah, why not a much bigger following ?
Never gets old
A true masterpiece...
of course ♥ never forget this sounds and so lovely vocal..it's a magical idea's ♥

Almost 20years later this thing still sends me to mars
This masterpiece will never fade. Ahead of its time, still ahead of its time. Even more, I don't even think it's from this world at all.
What are you saying hahaha that song was released in the times when the trip hop was very popular XD isn't ahead of its time at all!
@@hansaguilarroque2276 can't lie, a lot of these comments are massively over hyping the contents of this track. I like it but for example "This chorus of this song has one of the most utterly intoxicating synth rhythms I have ever heard"
almost as if they've never heard any music ever
It's not from this world.
@ hansaguilarroque2276 who cares, cope

I had just moved into my own apartment with no roommates in thirteen years. I remember discovering this song and feeling like I was in a dream.
Utopia 👍
Alison Goldfrapp has, over the decades created a beautiful felt mountain of sound.
"Utopia" is the summit 🧡
This gives off a similar vibe like life in mono
Will Gregory dropping some heavy beats while A.G. sings it into the sky. It doesn't work without both of them.
Felt Mountain is a masterpiece, one of the best electronica albums of all time.
Sometimes you hear a masterpiece and know on the first listen it's truly transcendent. This is one of them.
Can we talk about Alison's vocal range? WOW
A surprise for those who don't know her discography.
@@brunoromeu5856 luckily I know it well. Thanks though
This is a classic!
Felt Mountain is a pure masterpiece.
An exhilarating masterpiece!
Cant get over this womans genius! Her music is next level.
*_TIMELESS_*
The whole album is a timeless masterpiece!
To me this song is a prime example of why current (this century) music isn´t regarded highly: Songs like this don´t get promoted at same level as lesser music. This song doesn´t shy away compared to best music from previous century but many haven´t even heard it due to not getting into playlists. It´s by design that the current music we hear is crap.
★ Goldfrapp --- “ Utopia ” ( 2000 )

What the greatest geniuses ! ... What a the miracle ! ♥️🌎👍
.
20 years later it's still a gorgeous masterpiece
unbeaten
This is the theme song for the singularity.
Although it was definitely composed with the clone craze back then in mind, it certainly can be applied to AI as well.
A Masterpiece!! One of the best songs ever!! A+
goldfrapp's felt mountain is one of my favorite albums of all time...
I discovered this song last Saturday on a Brad Taste In Music stream. I'm honestly shocked he only gave it a 7/10. This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever listened to, and I can't stop playing it. It's pure euphoria. Thank you Alison for this masterpiece!
Yeah. This expression of art is unique
This song is the musical version of the famed painting "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Vermeer: mysterious, breathless beauty & longing. You feel it in every inch of your being!
same story here
He put it ahead of Muse, so he got that right
If I only experienced this three months ago I'd be so happy to hear something this amazing in a world of uninspiring music that we have right now.
Goldfrapp are pure and timeless feelings and the singer is like a sensual siren that hypnotizes your soul, I love them
James Bond movies without Goldfrapp is plain stupid! Alison should be in exclusive contract with Bond movies... She is bloody phenomenal!
This song is just a masterpiece of composition and illustration. One of my all-time favorites.
Remember buying this album when released! Having heard "My Lovely Head". Hearing this track for the first time, it was instantly played again! Beautiful vocals accompanied by beautiful music! Love it probably more now I'm older, than I did back then ! Also reminds me of the alien opera singer in the movie "The Fifth Element".
This is one of my absolute favourites of all time . Utopia can only be a place filled with Goldfrapp's music.
a masterpiece for museums of fine arts.pure genius
Possibly the most beautiful song ever written and recorded. And I miss my dogs.
you miss your dog which needs new ears?
I swung in a hammock, spread between the purlins in an attic, on a hot summer. Too hot to sleep in a bed. Glorious and thank you.
This is for my school friend Yvonne we are going back nearly 70 years ❤ - the words to this song - utopia - we see forever thats who we are ❤️-
I can't help but get emotional every time I hear this song
I had the great pleasure of meeting Alison some years ago, what a lovely lady. ❤
Bellissima musica, bellissima donna, bellissimo testo. Senza tempo
Ahead of its time, unique, Iconic, underrated, beutiful and very powerful, are just some of the world i would give for this song. Utopia It is a masterpeice.
Love this song. When I seen them live I was blown away by Alison Goldfrapp doing the opera parts. I never knew it was her doing them in the track. You must see it live.
This is playing while i reminisce about riding my snowboard through powder and the trees. As if I have helicopter camera panning over me as I surf fresh powder..the face and sides of mountains. The adrenaline rush of hitting the perfect spot as the chorus hits...wow.. I'm lucky. Thank you!
I love the angelic voice range. I feel Astral projective. I would love to be outside on a beautiful day on psilocybin with this one.
Her operatic vocals at the beginning and, in a more prominent way, at the great finale are from outta this world. One of the best songs.
Completely, diffeerent class tune!! The singing at the start, (and throughout, essentially), both the amazing, high tones from Alison Goldfrapp, like sweet, wailing opera, put against the deep, steady rhythm of her low tones... spellbinding! The tune composition is something to keep you spellbound too. Love it!!
Best song ever. Period.
When ever I listen to this I just melt. Incredibly beautiful voice and an amazing band. What's not to love?
I discovered Goldfrapp in a Sanity music magazine and I decided to buy Felt Mountain on cd after reading their review. Haven’t looked back since. 20 years later. Masterpiece.
my favorite song.
Well, perhaps we share _one_ thing in common.
Yaaaas.

This music is pure magic to me, magic in real life.
Today I listen for the first time this song on Spotify, one time is enough to understand the masterpiece that is.
And now that I see the video, just woow! One of my favorites songs.
There is no song that Alison sing, s that is better than another, they are all her masterpieces of music
the language of dreams
I drown in this maze of out of this world song in my ears ❤
An extraordinarily beautiful video for an extraordinarily beautiful song. Very evocative of certain moods and atmospheres associated with the smartest elements of the best Bond films and of chilly spiritscapes and lofty psychic or psychedelic interconnectings. Fantasies of psychic or occult omniscience. Felt Mountain has become one of my favorite albums of all time.
Anche per noi un album indimenticabile.....forever!
Me too.
Yep!
James Bond? No way!
Complete brilliance
its a, beautiful song .one of so many,so great to see comments from around the world, goldfrapp are a real global band in terms of music,i live in bristol not far where this is recorded and yet it feels like on different plane
GOLDFRAPP'S NEW ALBUM TALES OF US IS WONDERFUL.
IMO it's the best song Goldfrapp done.
100%
A music that recalls the magnificence of the universe
There’s a strange contradiction between the beauty of the music and the disturbing lyrics.
The greatest of act of the past 20 years.alison and will are incredibly talented.
Beautiful music never dies....
By far...one of the most original songs I have heard in my life. Easily.
Much more utopy ,much more greatnesss ...❤
Nearly 20 years old, no way ... great track and album!
one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
The best Bond theme that never was.
Definitely this and Bjork Play Dead
Ivana Pilja Fashion Show (Berlin 2017) brought me here (as Luke Black ESC 2023 took me to them). I’m so entranced by this song. Why have I never heard it before? Can’t believe it’s 23 years old. It’s futuristic and way ahead of its time, sounds like it could be a theme tune to an alien type movie. Love it so much, I can’t stop listening! ❤
This will go down as a classic, to this day when i listen to it, it still sounds new and fresh
Still Very Euphoric
Heard this on Amazon Music today......love it!!!
toujours un grand plaisir à écouter je ne me lasse pas
I loved this band when I was a teenager. I forgot how good this song was
I bought the album. It's on my turntable day in day out. Masterpiece!
Beyond excellent!!! An amazing artist.
Best song about eugenics.
So good. Fell in love with this as soon as I heard it. How can a human produce something so sublime? Love you Allison.xx
This song would have fit right in with the best synth of the 80s, a musical era I miss so very much.
f*cking masterpiece! Meisterstück! capolavoro! chef-d'oeuvre! obra maestra!
obra-prima!
1:28 to 1:32 along with the music is so visually stunning!
This song made my entire life better.
It will always make me well up in a Felt Mountain of emotion ;)
Quanto mi mancava ascoltarla❤😢
what a song!
Ethereal. Sublime. Otherworldly. To be hearing this in 2022...20+ years after it came out, and still it sounds like nothing else, speaks volumes of Alison and company.
This, folks...is what Bliss should sound like.
a masterpiece indeed
Still one of the most beautiful
"I'm superbrain. That's how they made me". Alison, there's no need to talk about me!
Сейчас красивее, чем была❤️

He foretold the future for this song to be on afrAId
Masterpiece of the album
September 2020... never gets old... always a musical mystical trip... never so true...
excellente sensuel atmosphérique
I hear Ennio Morricone in there.... just gorgeous, kick ass.
Masterpiece!
This song gave me goosebumps.
I think this video is sort of Siouxsie and the Banshees' Cities in Dust meet Garbage's Milk, maybe too random... But I love so much this song, it's a masterpiece of sound and sense!
The choreography is similar.
Wow,nice! 👍 I like where your head is !
