    I went Sunday and it was a phenomenal show. Absolute favorite band. It must have been a sell out. The way the band blends together is music to my ears...lol

      It was *totally sold out -- even getting scalped tickets came with challenges! I've been going to that venue for several decades and I've never seen it that full in my life! Really incredible to see how far they've come!

    Finally saw them about a week ago, so much fun!! Super cool that they’ve been throwing MF DOOM into the hip hop medleys as well, I didn’t know they’ve been doing that

      @@adamsubtract81 Starting at 0:14 they play Coffin Nails, Gazzillion Ear, and at some other shows they've been following that with Deep Fried Frenz, (look up the Glastonbury show from this summer)

    00:34 Anyone know what this song is?

    • @michaelsanchez2415
      @michaelsanchez2415 2 года назад

      It the theme song to a 1970s film called Midnight Express. Based upon a true story of American in a Turkish prison for drug smuggling. See it. Very good.

      Yeah, For me - I wish they would’ve extended the Electric Relaxation a bit more and brought back the Sade ‘Sweetest Taboo’ in the medley. Regardless, still good. Would like a CD of just all these medleys from them. 🔥🔥🔥

      Genius of Love (Tom Tom Club). Tom Tom Club was founded by two members of the Talking Heads. Tina Weymouth is the bassist and is, IMO, the most legendary of female bassists. See my comment above for the whole breakdown.

      It's an 80s tune by Tom Tom Club called Genius of Love. The band was side gig of Tina Weymouth of the Talking Heads.

    anyone have the time stamp breakdowns? I went to the Sunday show but I believe they switched up the set!

      I've been working on this myself (tracking for a recording I made). The first 10 seconds of the first melody weren't captured here, so it's actually a bit longer but this is the best I've got so far. The last few minutes they basically split Summer Madness into two parts with some Tina Turner in between. So, I'm not sure if this was a cover of the whole song with an interlude or just two melodies in three parts. YMMV. Also, I realize that some of these melodies in hip-hop/rap songs are often sampled from another artist. I haven't always made that distinction. Apologies in advance.
      00:00 The Message (Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five)
      00:14 Rapp Snitch Knishes / Coffin Nails (MF Doom) [N.B. Coffin Nails is just the name of the instrumental track, Rap Snitch Knishes is Coffin Nails with lyrics]
      00:33 Gazzillion Ear (MF Doom)
      00:54 Genius of Love (Tom Tom Club)
      01:59 Simon Says (Pharoah Monche)
